Northwest Airlines Flight 255 from 1987? I've been doing research on this accident, didn't reach "V2" take off speed and crashed into I94 about 145 people died but a little girl, how did the girl survive, everything burned up but a little girl lived. I wasn't alive at the time but I live near the crash site and was told you could smell the burning bodies. how did a little girl not die. and would you want to live I mean seeing such horror and your family dyeing I think I would prefer just to have died. it actually happened about 3miles from my house.
Northwest Airlines Flight: 8960 Operated by Delta Airlines? What does that mean? Do I check in with Delta the day of my departure or do I check in with Northwest? I know Delta recently took over NWA but they are still both independent airlines for the moment. There are connecting flights involved as well and on my itinerary it says "operated by Delta" across the board...so confusing. Oh..I am departing from JFK THANK YOU so so so so much everyone. super helpful.
Does Northwest airlines show in flight movies? I am being told there may not be a movie shown on my Northwest flight from Phoenix to Detroit?? Why not? It's supposed to be a 4 hour flight!!! It's on a Boeing 757-200 if that helps. The trip from Detroit to Phoenix will be almost 4 and a half hours. I've never been on a flight that long without a movie.
If I'm flying on a northwest flight that is operated by KLM airlines, whose baggage policy do I follow? I'm flying to Uganda in January and I'm considering booking my flight through cheaptickets.com; so far this is the cheapest place I've found (in the last 3 weeks of searching). Looking at the itinerary, it says that all of my flights are through Northwest and I've been given Northwest flight numbers. That said, the flights are operated by KLM airlines, as stated on my itinerary. Northwest Airlines and KLM have different baggage policies. Whose policy would I follow? Thanks!
Hoping someone could help me with Northwest Airlines flight? OK, on Tuesday I'm going to visit my friend in Michigan. Her grandmother bought my ticket using her account on NWA.com (northwest airline's website) and sent me an email with a link to my itinerary, which includes my confirmation number. My friend told me that I could print my tickets online any time I wanted, but I don't know how and she claims I just need my confirmation number. I think that they sent the link for printing my tickets to her grandmother since it is her account. My question is: how do I print my tickets if I don't have access to the NWA.com account? Can I just use the confirmation number, and, if so, where do I go to print them? Thanks!
Sitting together on NWA (Northwest Airlines flight)? My wife and I and my sister-in-law are flying to Florida (from Gatwick) on the weekend with NWA. I didn't realise you had to reserve your seats so early and now there are no seats together. The thing is, my wife is pregnant and my sister-in-law is a really bad flyer. Is there anything we can do to sit together? Or is it tough and too late now?? Thanks.
Northwest Airlines international flight? Okay, so here's the deal. I'm an American living in Cape Town at the moment. I'd really love for my parents to come and visit me, but unfortunately the cost of two flights is over $4,000. But, I have this friend in the states that used to work for Northwest Airlines. He got me a free flight to New York, just because he had connections or whatever in NWA. I'm just wondering if that can work with international flights as well. I've been having some trouble contacting him, but I just wanted somebody's input...do you think my parents could score two international flights from Detroit to Cape Town via NWA? I looked up flights online, they leave Detroit, connect via Amsterdam, then fly south to CT. Hmmm...that'd be awesome if it were free.
Has anyone taken international flight with Northwest airline or Malaysian airline? Can please share your review we would be booking flight from US to Asia in the month of June but as travel agent kept promoting northwest or Malaysian airline. We have never tried them before so would like to find out. I would be flying to Taipei with my 3 kids. Flying with kids is a tiring thing so I need to make sure the airline is at the minimum comfortable before I commit. We came here with EVA air,I wouldnt say its very comfortable but who can we compare it with? Can you also please share your pro and cons on each airline you share your review for?
Northwest airline flight attendant? How do northwest airline flight attendant work on there schedule like do they have different group for international flight attendant and domestic flight attendant.I can speak Thai and i have know this that northwest airline serve thailand route are they looking for thai speaker. How do you get a human at Northwest Airlines? Mom has cancer, getting run in circles trying to undo her flight Mom put a future flight on her credit card, then the Dr. found her cancer was back-aggressively. She is in hospice care, so medicated she cant sit up. Have been trying to undo this flight for three weeks, been bounced to SEVEN diferent phone numbers, where nobody can help. Actually got a response from the email web site "refunds" person, who wanted a letter from her Dr. faxed. We did. Hospice did. No response. We are running out of time and any suggestions welcome. This airline has given me and my family one of the worst customer service experiences I can remember. Mom passed away Sunday, thank you Stuart, but "Skyhigh" thank you and bless you, pushing zero got me a human named Chris - The 1st person in the whole chain that also gave me his last name, and promised he had just issued a waiver and refund.
What happened to Northwest Airlines' flights to asia? Delta hardly goes there now?? I used NWA a lot to SEAsia in the 90's. Recently I have taken China Air, Eva and Cathay they are all completely full all the time. I cannot believe ther is not a market for these routes. I have tons of miles on Delta but cannot even find a partner airline to take me!
What is wrong with Northwest Airlines? It seems as if their aircraft seems to mess up. On our way to Dulles, the steering got stuck (during the pre-flight check) and we ended up on Delta (thank goodness--much better service). On the way back from Dulles, we were stuck with Northwest. Everyone was on board and the electricity kept cutting out and they couldn't start the jet engines, so we had to disembark and get on an alternate plane. Could this be fallout from the mechanics' strike a year ago? Also, the Northwest flight attendants acted like they had chips on their shoulders. We are flying Delta or United from now on, no matter how expensive it is.
How can I prove I was on an airline flight in August 2009? I no longer have any boarding pass or receipt, but I need proof that I was on a Northwest Airlines flight back in August. Calling the customer service hot-line as so far been a waste because of the merger of Northwest with Delta this January. Does anyone know of any flight logs or archives that could help me in my search?
What are good fares with Northwest Airlines (NWA) from San Diego? I have a $350 voucher with Northwest Airlines and I live in San Diego. (cancelled ticket) All the fares I've looked at seem very expensive (almost $700 for Mexico city!) What are typical flights operated by Northwest where I could use my voucher? (I don't mind adding money, but I don't want to book a super expensive flight with them just because I have a voucher...) Thanks! The cancelled ticket was $450, so it's a $350 voucher
Flight to Europe on Northwest Airlines (Summer Cash & Miles)? The Spring Cash & Miles only applies if you fly between April 10 and June 9, 2007. Not only that, but all travel that involves the Spring Cash & Miles must be completed by June 12, 2007. The tickets must be purchased no later than May 26, 2007. But what if you aren't flying until late June? Is it worth waiting until the Summer Cash & Miles to redeem your miles for a cheaper flight to Europe? I suspect that more people will travel during the summer, so it will be hard to find a less expensive flight to Europe without a frequent flyer discount. Has anyone had WorldPerks long enough to know whether or not the Summer Cash & Miles is worth waiting for? Or should I just go ahead and buy a ticket to Europe and put more miles on my account? Thank you in advance for your responses.
Northwest Airlines? We used them in September 2006 because they had the cheapest airfare. They were OK, I suppose, although we did have to change planes frequently (once due to the steering being stuck and another time because the electricity in the entire plane went out just as we were starting to taxi down the runway). Also, the flight attendants were a tad overworked (but not overtly unfriendly). It was still worth the $450 (round trip for two adults, from Tulsa to Washington, D.C.). We will be flying again in September and - again - the cheapest airfare is still with Northwest. Should we try them again? Or should we shell out extra bucks for another airline?
Have you ever flown Northwest Airlines? How is it? In january im flying to New York for a few days, then going to Canada to stay with my Uncle for a week. Im really excited and it should be fun, but i get nervous about flying. I have flown Delta before to Indiana and it was okay. But this time Delta is more expensive, so i was looking at the cheaper Northwest Airlines. How is it compared to Delta or other airlines? should i just spend the extra 70 bucks and flight with the airline i know i will live on!?
Which would you fly Northwest Airlines or Air Canada? I've never flown with Northwest Airlines, and its been quite a while since I've flown with Air Canada. I'm looking at choosing between the two airlines for an upcoming flight, and I'm not sure which to pick (cost is more or less the same, NWA stops in Minniapolis, whereas AC stops in Toronto, but other than that they are pretty much the same). Anyone flown with one or the other recently? What was the service like in flight? Oh, I should mention I'll be flying coach...
Can I use my iPod on Northwest Airlines? I'm going on my first ever plane trip next Monday, May 4th. I was wondering if you're allowed to pack your phone charger and if you are allowed to use your iPod in flight? I am taking Northwest Airlines - Pinnacle Airlines... I tried looking on their sites for this information but couldn't find it... Also, if you guys have any tips that would be great! I would appreciate a serious answer, as well... If that's possible...
flight attendant for northwest airlink? I want to apply as a flight attendant for compass airline as northwest airlink. wen i become a flight attendant for compass airline can i move to northwest airline in my future like the flight attendant for american eagle to american airline. thank you for your time and afford.
Delta Air Lines & Northwest Airlines Question? Do Northwest Airline's (which I know merged with Delta on January 1st) flights keep their flight number when moved under Delta, for example, Detroit-Boston Northwest flight 7340's codeshare flight number with Delta Air Lines is 7171, so at ATC would the flight be called "Delta 7340" or "Delta 7171," because I know that Northwest Airlines technically no longer exists, all of the NorthwestXXX call signs are now DeltaXXX, but I don't know if the flight numbers are being switched over as well.
do airlines have flight tickets on sale on black friday? i want to know when i should buy my ticket to michigan. im going the weekend before the holiday in december so its pretty early right now. does northwest airlines have cheaper tickets on black friday? i thought i would ask because a lot of stores have sales the day after thanksgiving (black friday)
northwest airlines? for the first time i'm flying on northwest, i've flown on jetblue, and it was so much fun, but everyone is scaring me with northwest, can anyone tell me what to expect, the flights are only a few hours but its 4 of them, and they only have a snack box for 2 of them and what not, can i get some pro's and con's i've heard that the whole thing is a little shitty, and i have a stop in detrot, its two stops each way not four in one, and i do plan on bring snacks, but how do you know which ones have tv, and which ones dont and what not, i know im on a douglas, airbus, and i can't think of the other
Anyone board a Northwest Airlines to Canada recently? How's the service and food provided onboard? My sister read some forums on the airlines and get some bad remarks about the service provided by the flight attendants and the food. It says that the flight attendants are unfriendly and are unaccomodating. When the passenger request for a drink or something the attendants will show you an unhappy face. And the food is horrible. But the forum is dated two years ago. I'm abit worried as I'll be travelling with my elderly mum and my baby. I will definitely need them to fill up the bottle with hot water for my baby's milk.
How does a Northwest Airlines buddy pass work? My boyfriend is a Mesaba Airlines employee and I want to use my buddy pass this weekend, maybe fly out on thursday and come back monday morning. I was just wondering about the likelihood of getting an available seat on both of those days, and the things i should do in advance to improve the chances of getting on a flight.
Question about flying Northwest Airlines with infant? I was wondering if anyone else has flown Northwest with a little one & how strict they are on their stroller carry-on policy. According to their website, umbrella strollers are the only stroller they allow to be stowed when boarding the flight. Has anyone been able to use a regular sized stroller with them? Or is this something that we could get turned anyway for & have to leave our stroller at the airport? I am really hoping to be able to take our regular stroller because of our long layovers, so any help or advice is appreciated!

I agree it is to big to stow with my carry on, just wondering though if they will check it at the gate for me? I can check it with my luggage, but then won't be able to use it until we get to our final destination 12 hours & 2 layovers later. My little girl just gets so restless in umbrella strollers, so hopefully it will work out.
Items missing from baggage checked with Northwest Airlines (EWR-AMS-DEL)? I was traveling on-board Northwest flights from Newark-Liberty I'tl to Delhi via Amsterdam last Tuesday, and checked in two duly locked bags at the origin. When I collected my baggage at Delhi, I observed that the locks on one of the bags was missing. Upon checking I found that an Apple iPod Touch and a Sony PlayStation Portable were missing from the bag. Subsequently, I went to the airline's office at the airport and they gave me the email/phone numbers to call. I duly did so but am unable to get justifiable response. The airline says that I should not keep electronics items in the checked in bags as they are valuable. I am confused by their response as a piece of clothing (from a designer like Chanel etc) could be multiple times more valuable than an electronics item. This is speaking solely in monetary terms. An item that might be deemed worthless monetarily might have immense emotional value to the traveler. Therefore, this whole premise of valuables raised by Northwest Airlines/Delta comes across as illogical to me. I checked in my baggage with them at Newark and it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of my baggage. After a week of haggling with them, all I have got back from them is that it was my mistake to put valuables in my checked in baggage. This to me is customer service at its worst. They have no idea how much emotional loss this whole episode has caused me as those stolen items were meant to be gifts for my loved ones. I am just hoping to get compensated for my monetary loss. Right now I feel as if Northwest/Delta have robbed me and also charged me hard-earned US $ for the same. I am seeking everyone's opinion as to what business forums to approach or file a lawsuit so that Northwest/Delta accept their mistake in mishandling my baggage and compensate me appropriately. Please help.
Travelling with cat on Northwest Airlines??? Please Help!? I am desperate for help. I want to carry my 13 pound cat onto my flight when I move from AK to FL in a month. The problem is, the only soft sided carrier I can find (the Sherpa Delta one) that he fits in and meets airline rule weighs 4 lbs on its own so he weighs 17 lbs. in it. The limit is 15 lbs and they claim (on the phone) even if it’s 15.5 he will not be able to go. I even offered to pay extra and not bring any carry on items and they said “rules are 15 lbs and that’s all there is to say. No wiggle room.” Putting him in cargo would be the absolute worst thing! He is not easy going at all and plus he would be terrified. What I need to know is has anyone had experience carrying pets on to a flight (especially a Northwest flight) and if so how strict were they to you about the weight? What type of carrier did you use? Unfortunately, since I am moving and this is the only option so please don’t respond about how cruel I am to my cat.

Do they speak German on Northwest Airlines (operated by KLM) from Berlin to Dallas (stop over in Amsterdam)? My parents-in-law will be flying from Berlin to Dallas, TX next fall and have never flown to the U.S. and don't speak any English. We wanted to get them a flight on Lufthansa because they speak German, but the ticket prices are $500 more per person. We found a flight with Northwest (KLM) that flies from Berlin to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Dallas. Has anyone flown this route and do you know if they will speak German on the flight?
How much should Northwest Airlines compensate me? We just had a sudden loss of cabin pressure on our flight resulting in the oxygen masks deploying, a strong smell of smoke in the cabin and a diversion to a different city. Needless to say, we were all very scared and they didn't tell us anything!!
Can I get credit for an unused portion of my international ticket (northwest airlines)? I purchased a roundtrip ticket from Dallas, Tx to Manila,Philippines. Used the Dallas-Manila portion but didn't use the return. The ticket was purchased from a travel agency. I missed my flight because my wife got pregnant. I was planning on staying only 6months, but now I've almost been here for a year. Can I apply my unused portion for a round trip? It should be around 600-700 dollars credit. Pls help. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Should I Sew Northwest Airlines after my experience? Ok, very long story. I was flying EWR-DTW-YXU (London ON)-DTW-EWR I ended up flying EWR-DTW-DTW-EWR. Weird? Here's the story. Flight 1 (EWR-DTW) A bit turbulent, otherwise fine. Flight 2 (DTW-YXU) The flight was operated by Mesaba Airlines flight 3062. There were 4 passengers, me, my 2 aunts, and another one, the odd enough didn't show up. On board were 3 passengers, 1 crew, and 2 pilots. It was a Saab 340. To begin with, the flight was EXTREMELY turbulent. To begin the disaster, we were descending into London, when the pilot realizes the de-icing system did not work on the aircraft, and it was to cold to land in London. This led us to go back to Detroit. This was obviously counted as a mechanical issue, therefore, we got $10 vouchers to eat. Now we had to wait 4, yes 4, hours for the next flight. Flight 3 (DTW-YXU)...again. We took off, the turbulence begins, very terribly, such, that I hit my head against the window and got a large bruce. Continuing, just about to land into London, we made a go- around, and then another one to follow. We continually circled the London area, until the pilot couldn't land. Now, the weather was bad, as was the turbulence. Once again, we were sent to Detroit. We complain to get a hotel, but they said no, until finally convinced. We got a hotel, but odd enough, they didn't tell us we had to pay $50. We did, only because it was a hassle traveling all around the airport to find a place TO SLEEP. Since we supposed to be in London for 1 day, we requested that we go back to Newark, NJ, without ever visiting London. We did Flight 4: Our flight left the next morning, with once again, and extremely turbulent flight. The idiots forgot to send our baggage to EWR, but managed right before the flight to London left. Should I sew? If so, what can I use as an argument? Thanks SOOO Much! Mergim To all people that correct me. I completely forgot, I just arrived home, and am very dizzy. Sue. Sorry
How do AIRLINES determine their crazy airfares? Why does it cost 3 times the price to fly from Detroit-to-Montreal ($750) as it would from Detroit-to-Sanfrancisco ($220) according to bestfares.com Both are non-stop flights on Northwest Airlines; however, Montreal is only 500 miles from Detroit while San Fran is thousands-of-miles away.
Why is Northwest Airlines so eager to merge with Delta? I'm really upset because I like MSP - Minneapolis Airport and they've done an outstanding job keeping flights on schedule and accomodating customers like me in Minneapolis. - NEVER ONCE BEEN DELAYED. ! It's a well-run airport and manages its operations more smoothly than Atlanta-Hartfield. I am very unhappy that Minneapolis is losing its big hub, I'm very strongly opposed to the merge and think it's not fair to Northwest. Edit: neilinpd, it's unfair to Northwest employees that Northwest management can't appreciate how strong their airline can be without needing Delta. My argument is that Northwest spokespeople could do a better job representing the interests of Northwest as a whole. They are selling their own airline short.
