Finding a job with an Airline? Hello Everyone! I am 16, and I have always had an interest in aviation. Recently, I have been looking for a new job that will help me with my career (I plan to go to college to become a commercial pilot). My instructor suggested working with an airline, or at an airport. He said that he would work on getting some numbers for me to call. He hasen't gotten back to me yet. What makes it not easy, is being 16 no jobs are really listed on the airport. He said I would probably work with the "line service", refueling aircraft and such. Does anyone have any suggestions to get through to airlines. I am having a hard time finding a number to call about this. Airlines of interest: -Northwest Airlines/Delta (They are hubbed here in MN) -United Airlines -American Airlines Please only airlines that are availible in the Minneapolis Area of Minnesota. (MSP, etc)
corrections and reading proof please! 10 points? Today’s is speaker was one the most speakers I listened to since the beginning of the semester , and as much as I was excited in listing to what he has to say from valuable information I forgot his name . It takes him a length of 14 month to finish Mercer Aviation program. Worked three jobs and take maximum three credits a semester. He earned all his ratings plus his CFI rating , after teaching flying he was flying cargo till the right time was coming to him as an airline pilot , he moved quality to left seat after real hard work. While his flying career time he was able to finish and earn his four years bachelor degree from Atlantic university Now he is a captain for Northwest Airline for over 25 years flying 757. He is a president of Aviation Advisory commission. He was fortunate to fly almost all over Asia and Europe as part of his flying experiences he gained by working hard towards achieving his goals. He encouraged us to stay focuses in school because of the hard time that the Aviation industry faces, and over all how the global economics are in turmoil, which is affecting everything around us. The captain didn’t talk much about him or the industry , but gave us a good chance in asking him direct questions about the program and the industry itself , which was the best because it did clear lots of concerns we had . The plan for me on how to finish the program in a very fast track I had was changed totally after knowing how fast he finished it just in 14 month. The speaker talked about stuff by far the most important things I want to hear , maybe because that was my filed I want to be in ; or that he took a pathway that I am taking it right now in perusing my dream as an airline captain in a very short way and time but very effectively . I defiantly take his advice seriously about moving to wherever the main base of the airline I am going to be working for are located , because the family always comes first .
What career do I choose? Ok I wan to go to school, but for what? I worked in the airline industry for 12 years - LOVED IT! But I was laid of along with my 550 co-workers. So I want a stable career but it is all about the money too. I would love to be a school teacher, kids are great! They are way under paid, but stable. So I am a natural at computer, so maybe software engineer? But I love working out doors, so marine biologist? I am looking for opinions please! BTW I live in the Pacific Northwest, we got great schools here.
What pilot's license should I get? I HATE commercial airlines! Been flying for the past 15 years, 6+ flights a year. It would be more, but I loathe commercial airlines. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to look into what pilot license or certificate I would need. I would only be using it for personal trips (family, friends, etc). Not as a job/career. Thanks for the serious, legit answers! P.S.- I don't know if this matters, but many trips would be cross country trips (ie, Houston, TX to pacific northwest)
Is Aircraft Mechanic a Good Career to get into? 8. Airline Employees.
