Does US airways and Continental serve meals on domestic? My brother and I are flying from Columbus Ohio to Albuquerque New Mexico. From CMH to ABQ we will be flying US Airways via Phoenix leaving at 8 am. Return flight is Continental via Houston leaving ABQ at 615 am. The flight from Houston to Columbus is Continental Express with a Embrarer 145 regional jet. yes we are flying coach/economy class.
Is 1.5 hours enough time to transfer flights from Continental to Tiger Airways in Hong Kong? Our family of four is flying from the US through Hong Kong to Singapore. Our arriving flight is scheduled to arrive at 7:05PM and the departing flight is on Tiger Airways at 8:30. Tiger flies from Terminal 2 at HKG. I am wondering if anyone has experience making a connection to Tiger in HKG. The check in closes "strictly" 45 minutes before departure, at 7:45PM, so that means we have 40 minutes to clear customs and get to T2.
which is the best airline for overseas travel from US to Greece-Continental, Delta or US Airways? Mostly concerned with comfort (leg room-I'm 6 feet), service and affordability. How is the service with Continental Airlines? I am flying to Paris with Continental Airlines and have never flown with them. How is their service? are they greatly customer oriented? Can a 14 year old travel by British Airways unaccompanied? I'm 14, and I travel a lot by myself. Every time I'm coming from Logan Airport (Boston) to Heathrow (London) none of the airlines make me travel with their unaccompanied minors program, but every time I'm going from London to Boston they do. Are frequent flyer programs worth the hassle? I do maybe about 15,000 miles of flying every year on all different airlines. Generally, my tendency has been to look for cheap flights on Orbitz or Kayak and book those- this has resulted in me flying many different airlines just a few times each but saving a lot on each ticket. I signed up for frequent flyer programs for AA, Continental, and US Airways. I noticed that these programs also give points for making purchases through affiliates (like 1800flowers) and dining at certain restaurants. However, I am looking for some advice as to whether these programs are worthwhile. Say I buy some flowers and earn triple points. So I've earned 150 points, but that doesn't count for much in these programs. I almost feel like I am better off scouting the web for sales, coupons, and discounts than by trying to rack up frequent flyer miles and using them. Do you guys agree? Am I missing something?

Frequent Flier Miles dilemma on US Airways? To make an incredibly long story short: my dad and I are planning to visit Colombia from March 26th to April 2nd of 2010. We want to use his frequent flier miles he has accumulated over time (he has over 80,000 at this point!) to make the trip. US Airways themselves do not fly to Colombia. However, their allied partner, Continental Airlines do. We found several flights from PHL (Philadelphia, where we live) to BOG (the Bogota airport), but we've reached a problem. My dad is signed up on US Airways, but not on the Continental Airline website. Is there any way to use his US Airway miles on the Continental website, or Continental flights? How do we do this? Can we do it on the US Airway website, if so, how? We are very confused at this point. I've searched through the sites but there's not much I can figure out, so I've come to yahoo answers seeking guidance! Thank you :)
Trying to decide on a flight... are these airlines good? I am planning a trip and I normally fly Delta or Jetblue (which are my favorite airlines). However, the cheapest tickets by far for this trip are continental airlines or US Airways. Are these good airlines to fly with? U.S. Airways? We are planning our third trip to Maui and I've noticed that all their flights are provided by U.S. Airways. The first time we went we flew with Continental and I loved it. We fly coach but it's cool, we all had our own individual screen in front of us and we could watch whatever we wanted, our 2nd trip we flew with United and it sucked! Sorry for the word. But yeah it was so small, and it's a 12 hr. flight, we hardly had leg room and there was only one screen in the center of the airplane, on each row that is, that all the passengers had to share and it wasn't a pleasant flight. Has anyone taken U.S. Airways on a long trip such as Hawaii? What can you can tell me about them? I know if I wanted to I could book with Continental but it's more expensive as the list goes down. Will the pilot job outlook be better if the airlines merge? I have heard that United and Continental are talking about a merge, as well as American and Northwest, and US Airways and Delta. If they decide to merge, so that there are only 3 traditional carriers instead of 6, what will this do to jobs within the companies? Which aircraft is safest to fly long haul? I'm booking a trip to Europe, and can't decide between a nonstop on a Boeing 777 with British Airways or a one stop on a 757 and 737 with Continental. Researching, both have problems with icing, and the 777 is all over the news because of two incidents with icing. Which is best?

Serves you right?; British Airways posts record loss...is this on account of them becoming 'London Airways'? Used to love the MAN-JFK service which used to arrive in New York in the mid-afternoon. There were many passengers who were happy they didn't need to spend a packet to get to Heathrow, from say, Leeds, Liverpool or anywhere else in the North. So good I used it half a dozen times, but as soon as BA decided to have their continental flights leave from Heathrow, Gatwick or elsewhere within a 40 miles radius of the capital, they lost respect from the rest of Britain. Now, from Ringway, Delta, Virgin and even Pakistan International Airlines (from Karachi), with a couple other airlines will take you to the US - and not only New York. And to think, BA originally told us outside the noose (known to one and all as the M25) that continental flights outside London were not 'called for'. Maybe they will find a reason for their loss, with the usual words 'security' and 'terrorism' getting a fair airing, but could be their yearning to become 'London Airways', with other airlines quickly taking over elsewhere has been cause for their moaning of 'loss'.

US Airways to Hawaii?? I gotta question.? Alright, I'm going to Hawaii in a few days and we are taking US Airways...We have never had any trouble with them, but we have never taken a long flight like this...I remember when we went last time, we took continental and they had like T.V's in the headrest's of each seat for like everyone's individual entertainment...Do they have this same feature on US Airways since it is such a long flight?
Can illegal aliens fly from one city to another within the US? I have lots of friends that have been in the United States for several years. They have their ITIN numbers and matricular cards but they are not citizens. They are still considered to be illegals. When are these bloody airlines and especially American airlines going to learn? Let me see if I've got this right - we can put a man on the moon, unravel the blueprint of life etc., etc., but what we can't do is protect the infrastructure on the outside of airliners from 'Sod's Law' i.e. 'SOD'S LAW, ALSO KNOWN AS MURPHY'S LAW. If anything can go wrong, it will do.' First their was Concorde, probably one of the most elegant jets ever built with a 30 year unblemished safety record bought down with a total loss of life by a piece of an American DC10 lying about on the runway - - and now, just the other day, this Airbus 320 was forced to ditch in the Hudson River, watched by people in their skyscrapers off New York, by, apparently from all accounts, a very brave and skilful pilot all because of a flock of geese or some other breed of birds! The common theme here, is that the cause of both these accidents was American in source i.e. Continental Airways with the fateful Concorde tragedy and American Airlines with this latest but much luckier fiasco. It doesn't take a genius to work out, especially with this latest accident, that air being sucked into a jet engine under great force mixed with a large amount of feathers, blood and bone is not going to have a happy outcome! Why oh why can't they put some sort of guard, wire mesh, I don't know - something on the front of these engies? I can here the arguments against in my ears now:- it will reduce the airflow's efficiency so the jet won't be able to fly properly or some other - I'm quite sure - surmountable problem. I know that birds are a big problem for airlines - here at our airports in the UK they've tried all kinds of gizmos to scare off unwanted birds. I suppose there are the inevitable well oiled and practiced risk-analysis calculations, that show the ratio between the number of incidents where airliners have been compromised by birds is not sufficient enough to justify the cost to altar any given airlines entire fleet engine design - after all, look what happened to the illustrious Concorde. It was going to cost a 'shiny penny' about a £1m I think, to put the same stuff in the wings as they do in bullet proof jackets - namely Kevlar - Concorde was taken out of service, which as far as I'm concerned is another tragedy and a missed oportunity - Branson was making noises about getting them up in the air again, but I suppose he's too busy with Virgin Galactic. And won't that be a bundle of fun when that endeavour goes pearshaped for similar reasons - what happens when meteorites hit his fleets engines - the Hudson will be a long way down to ditch his spacecraft won't they?!!! What was it J. F.Kennedy said in that famous speech of his before he was the next to be murdered:- "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard" Therein lies the problem I feel. We need some one in charge, especially over there, who has got some backbone like Kennedy, that will say to those that need it to be said to:- "Oi you lot - pull your fingers out and get this problem solved so we don't put anyone else's life at risk"! However, you answer wasn't a total waste of time - I found your next two statements very interesting and educational - so thanks for telling me about the frozen turkeys and that the wings were made in North Wales - is that important to you because you were born in North Wales or something?!!! Apparently, apart from having the perfect pilot to ditch this plane it also has its own 'ditch' switch, which when pressed 'seals' itself to become a life raft - so the pilot is hero and the aircraft is a hero now all we need is for the bloody manfacuterers to be heros when they designed these jets in the first place. If we've can have parking sensors on our cars and these big aircraft can have proximity warning detectors (or at least the airlines that would stump up the cash to install them) to alert pilots of aircraft on collision courses then why the hell can't we have a similar a system installed for the opening on engines attached to the wings - why in essence don't we enhance this idea of getting aircraft to protect themselves? Perhaps someone could educate me on on the physics of the whole thing - I know that when a plane any plane stalls it can fall out of the sky like a stone, but aren't aircraft also be able to 'glide' like gliders to a certain degree (continued) - and if they are - then when said goose/geese or nine million starlings decide to become kimikaze pilots, then why' can't a proximity shutter be connect ed to some for of shutter that is intern connected to the engine ignition system - much the same as when guns were timed to fire between the propeller blades of fighting aircraft - surely that would be better than having to push the bloody 'ditch' button in the first place and have to press that if the engines fail for other reason or for other reasons why an aircraft would be incapacitated - could some engine come back to me and say why this is or is not possible please - as it was the first thing that occurred to me - surely that kind of system can't be too complicated to conjour up and install - or as I have said before is it all about risk/analysis engines by the insurance companies?!!!! From what they were saying on the news 'birdstrikes' as they call it are very common - apparently a jet in Rome recently was nearly incapacitated by a flock of starlings - isn't it about time these jets EVOLVED like the animals are that are colliding with them?!!! Duh! And why we're about it, evolved inside as well - don't you think this drink/food trolley they use to serve customers is a bit behind the times as well? Just a thought people!!!
US AirWays? I'm leaving wednesday to Phoenix to visit my aunt and uncle for february vacation from high school. I wanted to know if they were good and what they were like and what the perks were of riding with them? This is my 1st time going alone and 2nd time ever going on a plane. Last time 2 years ago I went to phoenix I went with my mom her bf little sister and baby brother on Continental and they were good. Whats your opinions and personal experience with US Airways? Free jetBlue airways tickets? I just received a mail that said that their accounting department showed that I have been awarded 2 round trip airfares to anywhere within the continental US. Also, they say that I can also get a 4 piece luggage set if I respond within the next 72 hours. Is this a scam? It was mailed not in an envelope, but like those letters that you have to tear the stubs at the end to get into it. Also it says that it was labled as "Business mail- penalty for tampering" and "warning- the penalty for obstructing or interfering with the delivery of this letter is a fine of $2,000 and up to 5 years imprisonment" and it was mailed from zipcode 32114. So what I am asking is this: Are these for real? I don't want to be scammed.
Transatlantic US Airways or Air Canada? I am planing on going over to Continental Europe, from Toronto, next April for 5 months to backpack. I was looking for flights to anywhere, and saw that US Air was about $40 cheaper than anything else on all of their routes, but Air Canada was second cheapest. Should I just pay the extra $40 and fly AC? I have never flown transatlantic on either airline. What kind of service do the airlines offer on transatlantic flights? I have already backpacked the UK and Ireland, but flew British Airways. Unfortunately, BA is really expensive for the flights I was looking at, and I want to save my money for backpacking, not spend it on flights!
