What's my best option for a late arrival into Midway Airport in Chicago for ground transportation? I have a flight that lands at midnight, and the only airport shuttle (Continental Airport Express) stops all pickups at midnight (per their phone representative). I do know that there is excellent public rail (CTA) transport into downtown. However, I am *VERY* reluctant about arriving in the wee hours of the morning, catching hauling our luggage into a CTA train, then getting out to change trains once, then hauling the luggage to the street and walking several blocks dragging luggage around. If it was the middle of the day, I'd feel OK about it, but not at that hour of the night. Also, I'd rather avoid getting into an expensive cab ride unless there was absolutely no choice. What company can you people recommend that would still pick us up at, say, 12:30 am, and deliver us to the miracle mile? thanks!
What to do at the airport if I checked in online? I checked in my flight within 24 hours of my departure on their website. I have an e-ticket (i booked from orbitz) and I'm flying continental express (continental airlines) So what do I do at the airport if I already have my boarding pass printed and I checked in online? and where do I go?
What will happen to the gate layout at the Indianapolis International Airport after the airline mergers? Just wondering if anybody knows what will happen to where the gates are at the Indianapolis International Airport after all the airline mergers. United and Continental are merging into one, but they are at two different terminals, which terminal will they relocate to, or will they stay at their same gates? Because Delta has all of terminal A except for the gates operated by Continental. Will United move to the Continental gates, or will some other airline take over those gates? What will happen to the gates after the Southwest and Airtran merger? Both airlines are at the same terminal, but they are at different ends. What will happen to those? Plus, I heard that Branson Air Express was at terminal B, where are all those airlines gonna go?
If I have a American Express gold card tied to a platinum card, can I use the presidents club at airports? I have an amex gold card that's tied to my dad's platinum card account, and I want to know if this lets me get access to the continental presidents club at airports or similar lounges.
Newark (EWR) Airport layover? I have a 1 hr 13 min layover in Newark airport tomorrow around the lunch hour. I will have to get myself, my wife and my two year old from terminal A (Continental Express) to terminal C (Continental) during this time. No customs clearance needed. What are my chances? I just found out there is an "airside" shuttle bus between terminals a and c. I can avoid going through security again as I would if I took the monorail. Thanks! http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/airport/maps/ewr.aspx
Does anyone understand how the baggage fees work for Continental Airlines? okay i remember having to pay $15.00 for my first checked bag when i departed & then going back, i had to pay $15.00 again. Is that because i was a first time flier, or they do this every time you check your baggage into the airport? i really don't understand how it works, i've tried going to the website & reading about it, but it confused the hell out of me. how we booked the flight: we called a travel agent & they sent us the ticket. i went from memphis to newark. and now i booked a flight for next week & did it on orbitz.com & i'm taking continental express again. now i am traveling from nashville to newark. do i still have to pay the $15.00? well cultural insite, apparently you didn't read my description very well. i explained that i only rode a plane ONCE. i'd suggest you read it again. k thanks...
Are my layovers long enough? This round trip will be my first time flying since I was much younger. My first one is 40 minutes in Denver and I have to get from one end to the other of the very long terminal B, United to Express jet. I understand that 40 minutes is w/o taxiing. So is this long enough to make my way to the new gate, assuming the flight is on time? On my return flight I have to get from Terminal C to B at Houston Intercontinental Airport, it's Continental to Express Jet. From their map I've gathered they have some sort of In Security transportation between terminals but this time I only have 35 minutes. Again, will this be enough time? I called Orbitz to see if this was long enough and when they called Continental they assured us that the flights were connecting flights which I assume means I'm guaranteed to make it or else they'll have to find me the next available flight. Still I was just wondering what those with personal experience say, because even the Orbitz guy said that was cutting it short. I looked at DEN on google maps and wow, it's 3/5 of a mile to get from one end to the other of Terminal B to the other. That's gotta be a 10 minute walk. Do people really run, will I be stopped if I do?
Southwest Airlines or ASA (United Express)? I have been a flight attendant for 3 years but left 1 year ago because of family. Now, I am ready to get my wings back. I had an offer from Atlantic Southwest Airlines/ASA servicing United Express and the training starts next week for flight attendant position for ERJ-145 aircraft (1 FA on board) But then, I had an offer from Southwest a few days ago for a ground position at the airport. Now, I am confused which one to get. I love to fly again but I'm sure I can also do that in Southwest since I can transfer internally. And a lot of people say that Southwest is a great company to work for and they treats their employees very well, and of course, great benefits too. With ASA, all they have is contract with United and Continental but they are considered as "the super regional" since Expressjet and ASA is merging. I'm torn in between.I need to decide within the week. Any opinions is appreciated, thanks!
Airplane Itinerary Question: Departure/Arrival Times, Where I sit, etc.? It's been quite a long time since I've had the luxury of flying on a plane (I grew up travelling overseas with my parents as a child ), but it's been so long that I have no idea how it's done per se. Anyhow, the question is as follows: Depart: INDIANAPOLIS, 2:10PM Arrive: NEWARK EWR, 4:15PM Depart: NEWARK EWR, 6:25PM Arrive: ST JOHNS NFLD, 10:56PM Now with that information given, are the times presented based on the airport I arrive in, or is it a generalized time for where the person has bought the ticket from?? Like, is my wait in Newark 2 hours once I arrive before leaving to St.John's?? Next, I was told on my itinerary I could find what plane to search for to find where my seat would be.. I have googled every portion of my details and nothing has came up. Example: Flight: CO*3263 *Operated by EXPRESSJET AIRLINES INC doing business as CONTINENTAL EXPRESS Class: V Equipment: ERJ-145 Any help or kind explanations would put me at ease and be appreciated! To Renate: Yes, I do have my passport and everything is booked. However, my boyfriend up in St.John's , who lives there, booked it all, so I was still left in the dark as far as questions go because I wasn't the one on the phone booking! Hah. I'm looking very much forward to it. Thanks for the clarification also on the time! To Martian1174: Thanks a ton for that link and your answer :) Tirya: Bingo!, Thanks a ton for that link!
38 minutes to make a connection at IAH? I will be arriving on Continental Express at Terminal B, gate 84M (the extreme end of the Express satellite gates) and I have 38 minutes to get to my international flight leaving from Terminal E, gate 7. Even taking the TerminaLink train, am I likely to get to the gate too late? Will CO hold a plane for a connecting passenger that they know is in the airport? (If not, the next flight to London is 22 hours later!) Are there moving sidewalks or chauffeured carts anywhere in the Terminal B satellite, or will I be self-powered all the way to the TerminaLink station? It looks like a good 10-minute walk just to get out of the satellite area... :-( Leaving next week, all replies are greatly appreciated. William K - The TerminaLink train is described as a "sterile, airside shuttle". As such, I don't believe that I'll be exiting and re-entering security. Mostly, I'm concerned about the schlep from B48M to the TerminaLink station in the center of B Terminal. Per Google Earth, it appears to be nearly 1km from the most extreme point. Any clue as to whether that's 100% walking, or if there are moving sidewalks and/or courtesy carts that would speed us along...? Thanks! Oops, make that gate "B84M" (as in Terminal B, gate 84, slot M).
How long does it take to get from terminal A to terminal C at Newark Airport (EWR)? I've got a possible itinerary to transfer from a Contintental Express flight arriving at Terminal A to a Continental flight departing from Terminal C at Newark (EWR). The problem is my transfer time is only 44 minutes. Both flights are domestic, so there are no customs issues, just the question of getting from terminal to terminal. Continental's website says you should use the inter-terminal shuttle bus so you don't have to pass through security. How often does this bus depart? How long does it take to get from A to C? Is 44 minutes enough time?
were you shocked about the leak: How India blinked on U.S. inspections of PM's jet? Three years after issuing a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) on Boeing aircraft that India was buying for use by the Prime Minister and other VVIPs, the United States unilaterally foisted an amendment mandating intrusive annual end-use inspections of them by American personnel. That India eventually agreed to American monitoring of the aircraft is already known, even if the details were never made public. But the Embassy cables give an unprecedented insight into the tug-of-war that followed the demand. The cables also reveal the “creative wording” the two sides used, in which India agreed to give U.S. inspectors annual physical access to the LAIRCM on the planes but the politically explosive term of “on-site inspection” was replaced by “on-site review.” National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan expressed his “appreciation for the text's creative wording, such as using ‘joint consultation to include an on-site review' in lieu of ‘on-site inspection'”, because of “political sensitivities… over the principle of on-site inspections.” http://www.thehindu.com/news/the-india-cables/article1565235.ece?homepage=true Isn't it clear that India is under total US dominaiton to the extent of humiliating the Govt? Is it strange that even Dr Kalam, the then President was frisked at our Airport by the American Airlines once: Times Now, Jul 21, 2009 NEW DELHI: In what is seen as a clear violation of protocol, former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who is exempt from security checks, was treated like an ordinary passenger and frisked by the ground staff of American airliner Continental Airlines at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on April 24, 2009 at the insistence of the company's American boss.. ----------- The subservience of the Indian Govt to the US appears to recall the arrogance of colonial years under British, isn't it? An American says here ".. We are especially concerned about India violating the purchase agreement by modifying the aircraft to function as a military aerial command post.." How atrociously arrogant? Does he suspect a friendly govt who purchased their aircraft? These guys are arming the Pak who are mis using the same to hurt India, as well revealed already! Have they made any caution to check the misuse or provide penal provisions for its breaches? On the contrary, they are still dumping lethal arms on the rogue state! These US fanatics are least dependable. Their Govt would support rogue states, dictators and time servers, not genuine democratic countries and friendly ones! A dare bully who is sure to fall over time by the weight of its own follies!
