what should my objective on my resume say for delta airlines? I am applying for a summer job as a baggage handler for delta airlines. I am a college student and would love nothing more than to work for an airline for the summer. The reason i want to do this is because i want to be an airlines pilot. Any ideas? No i don't have my pilots license yet, i plan on getting that after i graduate college. However the position of Baggage handler does not require a pilots license
Should i stay with my Delta airlines (subsidiary) job or get with us airways? i work for a fully owned subsidiary of delta airlines and basically got an interview at us airways. i just to mainly find out information about the flight benefits offered at us airways and also other employee perks. currently i get to travel for free within united states and just pay taxes on international flights and unlimited upgrades to business class( space available). i use s3c and also not able to get zed fares from other airlines. so is it really worth going over to us airways? how are their benefits like? am i able to buy zed fare tickets or id 90's on us airways partner airlines or star alliance members?
Does anyone know the delta airlines hiring process? I am invited to go to an interview for a flight attendant position for delta airlines....they're flying me out to Atlanta for that. Does anyone know, how long it is and what the odds are of getting hired when they fly you out? Do they let you know the same day? I am really passionate about this job and want to do my best to succeed at this interview.
How do I get a job with Delta Airlines? I would really like to work with Delta Airlines, I've flown with them numerous times and have always been impressed with the courteous staff and the high level of service. I live in Dublin Ireland where Delta fly from my local airport, I've been on their website however they only list a USA or Canada application yet they state that they employee locals for their international posts - can anyone tell me how to contact them? I know some airlines use agencies to fill their positions, so I need to find out if Delta are one of them and which agency they use if they are. I ve tried using the email address on their website for employment questions but this is invalid and the mail keeps failing.

How much is Delta Airlines" health insurance premium? For an Economics family project, I have to be a flight attendant, make a monthly budget and help take care of my family. Probably the only thing missing from my project is health insurance. If I get it through my "job", how much does the premium cost or is it covered?
Delta Airlines Future? Alright, Delta is now out of bankrupcy and has a plan to form a new image. This all starts with their new paint that just came out. What do you think of it. How hard is it to get time off at airline job? ...just got a job at Delta...? I just got a job as a baggage handler ramp operator at Delta airlines and the travel benefits are the main reason I'm excited about the job, but if you can't get time off to travel then what's the point? Because I want to travel internationally, and it usually takes a day or two just to get to a country... so it may be necassary I have a week to 2 weeks off for travel every now and then. And ofcourse a whole month would be nice every once in a while. But I atleast need a week to two-weeks... ...they said there's some time swap thing where you swap your days with other employee's, does anybody have any insight into how that works, and do you think I will be able to get time off for travel in the way I explained above? I'm at Delta MCI Kansas City, too! man hook me up with your e-mail if you can, peace
Do u think Delta Airlines would hire me again? I got offered a job as a ramp agent for atlanta a few months ago but they took back the offer due to the fact i didnt put my traffic tickets on the application. Do u think i can get hired again?
American Airlines and Delta 787 Dreamliners? I've read that Boeing has begun talks with American and Delta about future orders for the 787 Dreamliners. The 787s composit fusilage looks like it comes off the production line a kind of muddy brown color. Is it likely that American will opt for a silver paint job to match the rest of their unpainted polished metal fleet? American Airlines does not paint their aircraft. They are always polished aluminium with a stick on red white and blue stripe down the window line. Interesting observation Drewpie. My argument is, the aircraft will come off the line and requiring a colored outer coating of some type. White would look good but clearcoat is out of the question. I'm betting on silver. Time will tell.
Delta Airlines App, Still "under review"? I applied for a summer position with Delta/NWA cargo on Tuesday and as of Monday, my file is still under review. I called them and they said that I did everything they needed, but I feel that they should be making a decision soon considering that its almost July (for a summer position) and they just posted the job a week ago. Please only answer if you have applied for Delta Airlines. This is a CSR Cargo position in Chicago BTW. Thanks!

Why did Delta Airlines NOT Hire Me When I'm So Qualified? Before judging me, please read my entire question. I got a call a week ago from Delta Airlines to interview for their Flight Attendant position. If I was good enough for a second interview, they would fly me to Atlanta. Well I figured with all my experience, I would be a shoo-in. Not only do I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, I ALSO have over 4 years experience as a Facilitator Tour Guide at a world famous museum, and performed for Disney Cruise Lines. I have a shit ton of experience working with the public. And on the latter, I was professionally trained in safety, and even earned a certificate. The lady who interviewed me on the phone appeared unimpressed as I rattled off these accomplishments, and remained poker toned. I was then asked numerous questions about how I would react in certain situations. One of the questions was "What do you do if a guest asks to go to the bathroom but the pilot has the fasten seat belt lit?" I simply said "Well I would calmly tell them they couldn't due to safety regulations, but if they needed further assistance I would see what I could do." Like, WHAT THE FUCK else was I suppose to say? When asked about how I handled safety in my past job, I glorified the response with how I was a Traffic Controller aboard the now 5th biggest Cruise Ship in the world (Disney Dream), and had to escort guests to their lifeboats. Apparently this just wasn't good enough for lame Delta Airlines, because three days later I got an email telling me unfortunately I did not pass the interview and they had no position for me at this time. Bullshit! Something is up? Can someone please tell me what I did wrong or if my resume just wasn't doing it? Are they expecting people with Masters Degrees and more then 10 years customer experience? I mean I've been working with the public since I was 18- and I'm almost 29 now. What gives? Also there's nothing wrong with being confident in an interview! People keep saying I came off arrogant. Really? Confidence is a bad thing now? Its ridiculous how hypocritical people are now a days with everything I say or do! Come on!!! Give me some fucking answers! Why does anyone leave their job you fucking moron? To do something else! I was not being cocky, I was pleasant and confident. You jerk.
Why Didn't Delta Airlines HIRE Me? Before judging me, please read my entire question. I got a call a week ago from Delta Airlines to interview for their Flight Attendant position. I mean I've been working with the public since I was 18- and I'm almost 29 now. What gives? And I have so far received a lot of rude responders, telling me I came off to arrogant and wasn't a team player! I TOLD The lady that was my specialty! Being a team player. And since when does listing off your accomplishments make you suddenly a cocky jerk? Confidence should never be looked down upon. What were they looking for dumb blonde sturdass types barely out of high school? I mean what would have been so difficult as to just fly me to Atlanta and meet me in person? Can I call Delta and demand to be reinterviewed? The lady that talked to me just seemed dull and not interested in me at all. I've had better conversations with Comcast customer service agents than this old hag. Please, Only respond if you can give me Real answers! Wow do people answer questions anymore? 1 answer in 10 minutes??? And I know this is the Family section, but this was getting 0 action anywhere else.

I mean I've been working with the public since I was 18- and I'm almost 29 now. What gives? Well then Curious you're a total Moron! One of the main points I made in my phone interview was that I loved being part of a Team and that teamwork was a true asset I learned. And I'm sorry, I worked as a Entertainer and Safety Controller on a huge Cruise Ship. That IS safety training at its highest. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. What other qualifications was I supposed to have? Most of those fucking flight attendants are blonde idiots barely out of high school. Give me a fucking break.
How old were you when you got an airline pilot job? I was wondering if there is anyone who has gotten an airline job for a major airline like delta, American airlines, etc and is/was in there 20's when they received it, and if so how, i aspire to be a pilot and any help would be greatly appreciated.
What kind of degree is needed to work in the airline industry? I would really like to work for Delta Airlines. I am wondering what sort of majors would be best to obtain a career in the airline industry. I am considering communications, business, or French, and I was wondering what sort of jobs the airline industry has that uses those majors. Any information is welcome. Thanks! Also if you could add a ballpark salary estimate with any careers. But only if you have an idea. Thanks.
Why is Northwest Airlines so eager to merge with Delta? I'm really upset because I like MSP - Minneapolis Airport and they've done an outstanding job keeping flights on schedule and accomodating customers like me in Minneapolis. - NEVER ONCE BEEN DELAYED. ! It's a well-run airport and manages its operations more smoothly than Atlanta-Hartfield. I am very unhappy that Minneapolis is losing its big hub, I'm very strongly opposed to the merge and think it's not fair to Northwest. Edit: neilinpd, it's unfair to Northwest employees that Northwest management can't appreciate how strong their airline can be without needing Delta. My argument is that Northwest spokespeople could do a better job representing the interests of Northwest as a whole. They are selling their own airline short.
Does anyone know the interview process for Delta Airlines? For the baggage positions? I started an online application for delta last week, but I did not finish it tho. Last night a recruiter from delta called me and gave me a per-interview. He told me congratulations on the first step in the interview process. And then he told me to go online and finish the application. I finish the application last night just like he told me to. Does anybody know the next step in the process? How many interviews will I have to do with Delta before I get the job? Does anybody have any advice?
Wanting to work for Delta Airlines. HELP? I've already gone to air academy and have a certificate for a travel specialist. I have 3 years customer service. I am wondering if there are any other things I should do before I have an interview to hopefully help me be more likely to get a job as a customer service agent? Also, I want to study courses online probably something involving business. I am wondering what I should get a degree in that will maybe help me move my up in an airline quickly? And that I will make a lot of money in? Sorry if my questions aren't detailed enough or a little confusing lol. clearly I am a bit confused myself. Also, I am interested in working at O'hare airport..can anyone give me some advice? or if anyone has worked there, how is it? Does anyone have any idea when Delta will be hiring in Chicago or if there is any way I can find out? Is is just plain business studies or do I have to choose between different courses? I will definitely have to pick up that book! Thank you both :)
How do I get Delta Airlines to give assigned seats to my boss' 2 children? Right now they're "unassigned." The scene is like "Devil wears Prada." If I don't get them assigned seats, I might lose my job. He's going to Costa Rica with his family in 2 weeks and they all have seats in 1st class, but the 1-year old and 3-year old child have seats in the "unassigned" section of first class. Now, I've called the airline multiple times (they have the account on alert because I've called so much) and they assure me that the children will ride with their parents, but they can't give them seat numbers now - that 2 rows are reserved for just this kind of thing. This is not good enough for my boss. He's not a "medallion" member and he doesn't fly Delta often. Please, someone give me a suggestion!
I want a job with an airline company. Where can I find jobs? I am in college now and am seeking a good part time job with an airline. I will be 21 in a few weeks and am interested in flight attendant, but my husband will not be 21 until May and we want to do that together. I would like to be a ticket taker, food service, or something part time like that. Continental, Delta, Cayman Airways, British, SWA, all have engineer jobs or other things that take 10 years of college. Where else can I get these jobs through?

I applied to Delta Airlines to be a ticket/gate agent, how long does it take for them to call back? Please, I would only like for those who have actually applied to Delta for any position online to answer. Basically, I have applied for the same position online at two airports. I can honestly say that I have never wanted a job so badly. I'm just very impatient and wish they would call already so I can start the whole interview process already. How long does it take for them to call back?? And any other information you have would be great. Thanks for understanding.
Is there anyone way I can change the dates of my Delta Airlines flight without charge? I just recently spent all my disposable income on a flight to Atlanta yesterday. Though, I got a call today from my friend in Atlanta this morning that she will be in Indiana on the day I arrive for a week because her husband is moving there for another job, and she needs to attend a physical. I went to change my ticket to a week later and it doesn't seem like I can get around the 150.00 USD surcharge. Anyone have any ideas/any luck on calling the airlines to have a fee waived, especially since the reservation was made only a day ago?
NWA and Delta merge good or bad? Will this make pilot jobs? What effect will it have on future airline pilot jobs? More competitive? Bigger airline means more destinations,=more pilots? 800 planes, that means 24k pilots easy right? http://blogs.moneycentral.msn.com/topstocks/archive/2008/10/29/delta-becomes-the-world-s-largest-airline.aspx 24K=24,000 pilot's. What becomes of Comair and NWA Airlink?
Will the pilot job outlook be better if the airlines merge? I have heard that United and Continental are talking about a merge, as well as American and Northwest, and US Airways and Delta. If they decide to merge, so that there are only 3 traditional carriers instead of 6, what will this do to jobs within the companies? Ticket prices will be higher because of less competition, so will that make pilot pay/benefits go up? Also, will there be more jobs available? What will be the changes to the airline industry if these merges do in fact occur?
What is the point of a college degree for airline job? Should i even bother getting a college degree if im going to pursue a job as a airline pilot? I can't see myself doing anything else, so i have no idea what to major in. Why do airlines care if you have a college education or not? Lets say I went to a job interview with Delta, and had 2000 Hours TT, with a 4 yr degree. Another guy has 5000 hours TT with no degree. Will that guarantee me the job 100% because of that college degree?
what are benefits that delta airline ticket agents have? i just got a job as a ticket agent and my sister keeps asking what benefits do they provide for me. can i fly for free? i dont care to know this because i am definately thankful that i got the job. i'm just trying to shut her up lol. does anyone have answers ?
How much will it cost shipping a dog from USA to Europe? I want to buy a dog in USA and then ship it to Europe, i hear the delta airlines do a great job with that, does anyone know how much the costs will be? Just that i know a little how much it will be? I also hear that when you go to pick up, it will be more cheaper.
80 days in a month on job assesment questionaires? Why do they put odd ball questions like are there 80 days in a month on job assesment questionaires? I am in the process of doing a questionaire for a job with Delta Airlines and I have seen a few different oddball questions like the above, what is the purpose of these, to weed out pot smokers or what? The Pot Smokers line is intended as humor, not as a political statement....
What is the best airline you could work for? I'm trying to find a job at an airline. I'm trying to apply for all airlines such as JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, Virgin America, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines. But I want to know which is the best airline. I'd really like to work at LAX or LGB if possible. Right now, I'm a cargo handler at LAX and I'm really hoping for a job at an airline as a ramp agent or baggage handler. As long as I can get flight benefits. Can anybody help me? Please let me know!
Airline Question? Easy 10 Points? I have been realizing that Northwest Airlines paint jobs have been changing to Delta Airline Paint jobs. I know that they started working together. Is all the Northwest Airline jets going to be changed to Delta Airline paint jobs?
How long until i become an airline pilot? OK..so...say i graduated from Daniel Webster and now i have an ATP rating. How long hypothetically would it be until i got a job with an airline...and how long until i got a job with a major airline like delta or american airlines ? Umm...some of you think im a current DW student..lol..im still in high school.
Minimum working age for airlines? I am currently 15 years old and in search of a job to help my family's financial needs. My preference would be to work as a ramp agents at Burbank airport. I have contacted a few airlines regarding their minimum age, but was not in direct verbal contact with any representative. I am planning to chose between American, Delta, Southwest, and United.
What will help get a good job in aviation ? What i mean is, what courses should i major in to get a good job as a pilot ? Does it really matter which courses I take or is it all about the hours ? What would help land in major international airlines ? Such as continental airlines or delta airlines. Does it help if I take aeronautical engineering ? Is there anything in particular that would help me be the best pilot i can be ? Education wise and training wise ?
Is it possible when you're a Delta Airline pilot , you can switch to Qantas Airline? Yeah I wanted to know if your a American graduate pilot , are you able to get a job in Qantas Airline with higher pay , just because you graduated from American schools ? Another Question: If it is possible to switch airline and get a new interveiw, Do you have to be a captain to get pay high from the Qantas Airline? Extra: In my opinion America has the best education system , so don't you get paid more when moving from America to Australia being a Qantas Airline pilot? (I'm planning to become a captain first in Delta Airline , and build good amount of flight hours) PLEASE HELP ME! PS: I'm only in high school , just want to think ahead :]
What summer jobs do airports offer? This summer I am hoping to be able to obtain a part time job at a local airport. The two airports that would make the most sense are the county airport five miles away, and Richmond International (RIC) ten miles away. I was wondering if anybody here knew what sorts of summer jobs airports offer to high school students, if any at all. RIC has three or four FBOs and is served by 7 airlines, Delta, Continental, US Airways, American, jetBlue, Airtran, and Air Canada. I will be 16 this summer and I have my license if that makes a difference. Any ideas/advice/help is greatly appreciated.
What is the best way to apply for a job with an airline? Recently, I tried applying for a job with an airline. For example, Delta. I looked under employment on their website for a job a I looked at all the locations throughout the country and there were no openings. I was wondering, is there another way I can apply for a job with an airline? Thank you in advance.

Do you feel our goverment has a responsibility to provide jobs for all able bodied Americans? Today I read in the paper about Delta Airlines getting rid of 30,000 people and thousands of teachers in Calf. where given notices that they might be disposed. I became somewhat scared because most Americans work for companies or a business.. I fear that this country is falling apart my neighbors are moving out.Food and gas prices are high,I really do not understand how exfelons homeless people and Vets get employed or make it unless the commit alot of crimes daily. I heard yesterday that the Canadain dollar is worth more than the U.S dollar ,are we going down?I hope not. If your town was torn by war and bombs and you had no where to turn ,wouldnt you think people would turn to Uncle Sam to provide jobs? Without employment with have more lawlessness.I feel our goverment needs to start creating more jobs,Iran is still having there plants running in full throttle this country could afford to send 10 to 20 millions people to the middle east and this country still would function fine.Somethings has to happen quick.I feel sorry for Delta employees and teachers in Calf.
Does Anyone work for Swissport or Delta as a ticket agent? I need advice? Do you you have experience as a ticket agent for Swissport or Delta - can you tell me which is the better airline to choose and what are the benefits of each job- should I go with Delta or Swissport? what should I expect as a ticket agent in the airport - which shift is better the morning or evening - thanks I appreciate your advice
When i start credit and all that ( read on )? How can i make sure my credit stays high and not end up like my dad living in an apartment. my job plan is to work at the animal shelter, then work at starbucks, then probably when im 18-20 im going to work for delta airlines... so i was also wondering if you get paid if you work in an animal shelter and how much you get paid working in starbucks... i just wanna be ready and stuff :) thanks
job interview questions? So i'm 19 years old and i have an interview with Delta Airlines for a ticket counter job. I've only ever had 2 jobs, one of which i'm currently working at. My question is should i dress business casual to the interview? I've only ever dressed in a nice polo and jeans to interviews. I don't think Delta would appreciate that look. Also Should I bring an updated resume and a cover page? Should I do some research on the company and take notes so that i may be prepaired for whatever they through at me? Oh and should I prepare some questions?
has anyone been a Summer Luggage Handler/Equipment Services Employee? i am wondering if anyone has worked for northwest airlines / delta airlines as a Summer Luggage Handler/Equipment Services Employee. if so please let me know how you got the job and what city. also, do you get to fly for free? please let me know because i badly want to do this and need to know where these positions are at. thanks!
Can anyone do the job of a large corporation's CEO? It seems that regardless of how they, the company, or stock performs, these executives rake in the 10's of millions in salaries and bonuses. Sometimes I wonder if you pulled any 15-year old kid off the street and made them the chief decision makers of large corporations like Home Depot, Countrywide, or Delta airlines, they couldn't do any worse that those overpaid CEOs.
The Best Airline and Worst Airlines....How Do You Determine It??? Hey everyone, This is a random discussion question so feel free to answer.. I am a FA for Delta and I was just reading some different comments about airlines and wanted to ask What makes you say one airline is better than the other? I have flown on a few different airlines and they honestly do the same thing that other carriers do, as of ON the airplane. Most recent travel adventure i was on Continental, and they didnt do no more than i expected them to...Customer service was the same and beverage service was the same as any other airline. We can't apply Weather delays and Rude Flight attendants to the question, because EVERY job has grumpy employees and bad days...the airline industry is just like every other job, the FA's are not perfect and we all have problems. I had to work after a relative of mine passed away...so YES I was a little grumpy...FA do have lives and problems outside of work, so for you people that think FA suppose to be perfect, think again. Ur Opinion. Lost Luggage and Mechanical delays can happen on ANY airline. So if passengers buy a ticket and think that everything will be perfect 100% of the time...they are setting themselves up for disappointments...No airline is perfect...and things will always happen... Well When people talk about the airplanes, just about every airline have the same planes, so when people say no leg room, on the 737, then you can say that every other airline that flys the 737 has no leg room, right?

A question about working at airlines? I was thinking about getting a job as a flight attendant so obviously, i've been doing research online. I'm trying to figure out which airlines would be the best to apply at and I just need a little insider information; for instance, what are the requirements of employment at British Airways? Or what are the age requirements at Delta? Can anybody help me out here?
I applied for a job with Delta, they said they would call for the second interview how long does this take? I already work for another carrier. But Delta has a great job near my parents and better routes. I am very familiar with the FAA checks and that this is a process. But my question is more personal towards s Delta's process as it does differ. With my airline I had to call almost everyday to get the appointment with the recruiter to get the job. I get the feeling from Delta if I do this I will not be called in for the face to face interview. This is my second application with Delta, I find it frustrating that both people have told me they are interested, the next step is a face to face interview, unfortunately all the appointments are booked the recruiter will contact you when they have time for interview. Now I know the recruiter flys in and schedules them all then, but how does the person at the call center know the are booked if in the same sentence they tell me they have no access to the recruiters appointments?? I have heard this statement verbatim the former time i applied and this time. My thing is I really need this position as it would move me closer to family but I do not wish to put them off by calling too much. Of course I have always heard if you want the job you call until you get it so what is the right thing to do? The biggest reason I am distrustful of this wait and see thing is that when I did the online app I got no email for the phone interview. I had noticed though my phone number was wrong. When I called to change it they offered me the phone interview citing an email had been sent and my email on file was correct....so had I not called...I wouldnt have even gotten that far. is there like a recruiters email for Sea-Tac I can email to get this party started with them or should I just keep checking back no matter how monotone the call center employees sound? Your help is most appreciated! Also, if you dont work for the company please dont answer. Cultural Insight, Delta is hiring.
how can i apply to clean airplanes? my friend said her brother worked for delta airlines cleaning the airplanes out after they landed so they would be ready for takeoff again.that sounded like something i would be interested in as a summer job. I was wondering if anybody knew how to go about getting an application for that because i know going to the airline and asking will be hectic and im sure nobody will know what to do, and i wont see this friend again for a while so i couldnt ask her either. thanks for the help! appreciate it.
What is my chance to be a commercial pilot? I graduated from Air Force Academy and served in the Air Force for 5 years as a fighter pilot. I am a Captain and I am seeking a civilian job as a commercial pilot because I am getting married. I want to fly for a major airline like Delta. What are my chances?
Airline job? I've been searching for a job with an airline for such a long time, today I found one and I'm very excited. Please help me, I REALLY want this job but I don't know what they want to see in me for them to want to hire me. It is a costumer service job for Delta. I'm a bilingual and I don't have a lot of experience, but I've worked at places where I had to deal with costumer every single day. Also I just started college.... please help!!!
Finding a job with an Airline? Hello Everyone! I am 16, and I have always had an interest in aviation. Recently, I have been looking for a new job that will help me with my career (I plan to go to college to become a commercial pilot). My instructor suggested working with an airline, or at an airport. He said that he would work on getting some numbers for me to call. He hasen't gotten back to me yet. What makes it not easy, is being 16 no jobs are really listed on the airport. He said I would probably work with the "line service", refueling aircraft and such. Does anyone have any suggestions to get through to airlines. I am having a hard time finding a number to call about this. Airlines of interest: -Northwest Airlines/Delta (They are hubbed here in MN) -United Airlines -American Airlines Please only airlines that are availible in the Minneapolis Area of Minnesota. (MSP, etc)
What's wrong with crappy airlines? why can't they follow the Southwest model? For crying out loud, I booked a ticket with america west/us airways, I later wanted to change my flight but they want to charge me $100. It stinks since the fare i paid was only $120 (short flight). With Southwest, you wont get a refund but they'll credit the amount you've paid before but without a penalty, at least that has been my experience recently. A bunch of airlines keep complaining and losing money and slashing jobs... why can't they follow the model of Southwest to stay afloat? Southwest uses a single type of aircraft (which saves a ton on pilot training and mechanic training, plus you get discounts from Boeing), they fly smart routes, etc etc. Why won't Delta and American and America West learn??
NWA & Delta merge domino effect? I watched a video saying if they merge, then lower-fare careers like Southwest will not be able to compete and will be forced to merge with other airlines etc etc. Eventually, there will be like 3 super mega careers and everything will fall apart, with airlines constantly competing, routes changing, ppl losing their jobs etc. WTF will this force other airlines to merge? And could this affect me in the future?
how to airline pilots get their job?? every time i go to a major airlines web site it says the are not accepting and resamaes please try again later and so i do but still says the same thing everytime so how do you become a pilot for delta, american, usairways etc???
ATP v. Delta Academy? So I have decided to go into one of them, but which? I know people say FBO is the way to go, but they do not provide some type of airline experience and both of these schools do, plus about 500 hours f/t and half is multi engine. I know its a long shot right now but they both "guarantee" interview with partner regionals or as is ATP's case they offer you a job with them. ATP is only 6 months, career airline pilot program with FO internship with gulfstream int'l air, and delta academy is almost 2 years and about 10 grand more expensive and they also offer a job and interviews. Which one should I choose? any suggestions or skeletons in the closets from the schools you wanna bring out? Thanks for the help!!
What you think of this article and Summary it? Aug. 21--The Air Line Pilots Association on Monday asked the National Mediation Board for an election to decide if SkyWest Airlines pilots want to be represented by the nation's largest airline pilot union. ALPA decided to seek an election after receiving enough interest from SkyWest pilots in joining the union, ALPA said in a letter mailed to about 2,700 aviators. It isn't clear how many pilots have signed cards authorizing the union to request a collective bargaining vote. On Monday, ALPA spokesman Pete Janhunen refused to reveal the number because the union doesn't want to tip its hand to the company. Over the past year, ALPA has said it had obtained authorization cards from more than half of St. George-based SkyWest's pilots. But it declined to approach the mediation board until at least 70 percent had indicated their support for a vote. "We think we are going to win the election. ALPA doesn't play to lose. Our senior leadership and the [SkyWest pilots] organizing committee agree that the time is right to file the cards" with the mediation board, Janhunen said. SkyWest spokeswoman Marissa Snow said the airline would not comment because it had not been informed by the union. In the past, the airline has said it is opposed to a pilots union. "We haven't been notified of anything of this nature, so I can't really speak to the topic," Snow said. SkyWest pilots are the largest nonunion group of commercial aviators in the country, according to ALPA. The rapidly growing regional airline flies passengers for Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Midwest Airlines. It has hired about 2,000 workers this year, including hundreds of pilots, and has plans to hire more to keep up with growth. In the letter to pilots, ALPA said the mediation board will hold the election after it compares the authorization cards with company employment records to verify the showing of pilot interest in an election. The board also will put together a list of eligible voters. That should take 60 days. The board will then mail confidential telephone voting instructions to the pilots, who likely will have 30 days to cast their ballots. Janhunen said pilots will vote on two questions -- whether they want a union to represent them and whether that union should be ALPA. Simple majority votes are required, he said. ALPA hasn't detected widespread dissatisfaction with SkyWest, Janhunen said. Instead, SkyWest's rapid growth has made pilots feel uncertain about their jobs, he said. "Usually, in this kind of case, [pilots] realize they don't have an enforceable [labor] contract, they don't have an agreement that guarantees any aspect of their careers," he said. "There comes a point for pilots when scraps from the master's table are no longer a sufficient diet." The union's reluctance to pursue a vote until now may be based on past failures by pilots to affiliate with a union. An effort in 2004 failed when only a third of eligible pilots voted for an in-house association to act as their bargaining agent. An organizing drive by ALPA in 1999 also failed. In May, a federal judge barred SkyWest from interfering with organizing activities by the SkyWest Pilots ALPA Organizing Committee. The association won a restraining order blocking the airline from preventing pilots from posting and handing out literature and wearing ALPA insignia on pins while on duty.
I wanted to find how to become a pilot on a major airline ( Delta, Air France, AA etc) not a regional airline? I'm a junior and i just arrived from France. I have got a basic pilot license " Brevet de base du pilote d'avion" and about 30 hours of flight and about 12 landing and take-off in solo. I wanted to know which degrees are the best to become pilot here ? Is embry riddle university the best and does it guarantee a job after an aeronautical science degree ? Can I easily go in a major airline etc..? Hum, I'm not a pilot I'm only 16, i had my pilot license for cessna 150 in a flight school i didn't study anything
How do i become an airline pilot? How do i become an airline pilot for a major airline like delta or american airlines? Is their a college i can go to or how can i go about being a pilot for a major airline? How long will it take me to do this and how much will it cost? How do i go about getting a job as a pilot with an airline once i get my license? Also what is the average starting salary, also whats the job out look for a pilot? Please include any links you would think would be helpful.
Delta Connection Academy? Im a junior in high school and am seriously looking into a pilot job, preferably coorporate or regional. yes i know regionals are bad airlines, but its a flying job. Im also considering a CFI rating to do that line of work. Would it be best for me to go to an instate college for a bussiness degree and work at the local FBO for my license, and later maybe head to the Delta Connection Academy or soemthing equivelint? Whats my best options? thanks
Delta Connection Academy vs RAA ( Regional Airline Academy)? Ok i am choosing between two flight schools. So confused which one to chose . Let's start with Delta. Delta: Would earn all of mu ratings from Private to CFII. Then would instruct for 12 months. After that I would do Jet Bridge Transition Program. Its a preview of first officer's training. At the end I would get a guranteed Job interview. School is also accredited. RAA: Would Earn all of my certificated from the private to the CFII. Then Flight Officer School. with 80 ground school hours . And 60 FTD ( Flight Training Device). Than time building as an instructor for about 4 months. Than two week ground school with (FMS,CBT,IPT,)... Two weeks Level D CRJ Simulator. Aproxemetly 32 hours. Seven full motion sessions. At the end i would also get a guranteed job interview. Raa is not accredited but if I go there I would save around 15000. Thanks
Can you be a Commercial Pilot with a misdemeanor on your record? So I'm 19 years old.. and I made a stupid mistake of helping a friend of mine shoplift at JC penny and a few other stores... We were stopped leaving JC penny.. because they had cought us on tape.. then they found the few other things we had in our bags... the total was under $500 ( this was in MA btw) but anyways we have a court date.. so i havent been convicted yet (if i even will be) do you think i will be convicted? But my real question is.. if i am convicted.. in three years or whatever down the road when i go for a job at Delta or some airline.. and they see this on a background check.. can i still get the job.. or am i just screwed because of a stupid stupid stupid thing i did.. any advice? thanks

How do I politley decline a job interview? Ok, on the Delta Airlines web site.. I wasn't paying attention when I filled something out, It was for a job of a flight attendant. I gave my name, address, told them I was willing to relocate and such.. But I thought it was something that they would just keep on file.. After I was done, they said I will get a card in the mail, or they'll call me within 2 weeks.. What do I do? The site won't let me delete my info. I'm not ready for this job yet. I am overweight, and I want to get bills paid off before I get serious about it, since they don't pay well at first.. If they call what do I tell them, without them being offended, and hurting my chances of applying again? I really thought it was just a questionare. Please help me!
Hopefully this will make put a smile on your face! (Jokes)? When man was created, the body parts argued about who should be boss. The brain said he should be boss since he controlled all thoughts. The eyes said they should be boss since without them, man wouldn't be able to see. The legs then countered this by saying that it was them that brought man wherever he wanted to go. The stomach argued that it was him that provided nutrition for the whole body and he should be boss. Then the a-hole applied for the job. The other parts laughed so hard that the a-hole got angry and closed up for a week. The stomach got upset, the legs went wobbly, the brain started to go weak, and the eyes got crossed. Finally, they conceded that the a-hole would be the boss. This proves that you don't have to be a brain to be a boss, just an a-hole. Condoms Nike Condoms: Just do it. What makes you more "Competitive"? How does it work? What things make you more competitive when you go to apply for a airline job? Say you don't have a college degree...BUT the airline's general requirements are a 4yr degree BUT you have a slew of hours and ratings. Will that make up for it? Will more of one thing make up for a lack in another? Last thing is..American has 10,000+ pilot's Delta with7,000+ United with 6,000+ So on and on. That's a lot of pilot's in total if you add up all the airline's. Is it somewhat easy to get a job as a airline pilot, and whats the outlook in 2012-2016ish? One more thing. Will the government bail out airline's?
what does it mean to enter the US legally? i have some Ghanaian pals who entered the US on an F-1,took Delta Airlines, passed tru JFK and USCIS and now in America, are they illegals if they want to find work and study at the same time?do u people refer to those Mexicans,Hispanics etc who cross the border without passports nor visas as those whom u always refer to as illegitimate illegals? Are they not the people who annoy Americans the most? Are f-1s holders likely to get a job in the US hussle free as compared to b-2s?Is it difficult for an F-1 to get a job(even just as a restaurant server etc)?
For all you pilots? I am 15, and i plan to go to embry riddle, if i do pretty well in college, how hard will it be to get a job after college. my goal is to work for a major commercial airline like delta, or mabe working for UPS. So how hard did it take for all you to find a job and what was your starting salery. also, how long did it take to increase that salery and get better positions as a pilot.
Regional Pilot Job Questions? i plan to enter Jet University and become a pilot for a regional airline company preferably Air Wisconsin.and if this helps i am 17 and going to graduate in the summer of 08 and hopefully enroll in Jet University in October.so here are my questions: 1.do you get to choose where you get to fly?like, lets say you live in washington dc and you fly out of that airport,do you choose the airport you will always be flying to?if not how does it all work? 2.what is the difference between an airline like Air Wisconsin and an airline like Delta Airlines besides the planes they fly and the places they fly to? 3.is it better to do the long flight sort the short flights? 4.how often do you get relocated?is it worth even owning a home,or is it worth it to rent a house (or apartment)? 5.how do you progress to flying larger aircraft like the boeing 777,or 747,besides just how many hours and experience you have? please email me with good websites or more information.

Commercial/ corporate Pilots, please read? Ok hears my situation, I just ask a question yesterday or two days ago about loans to go through flight school and how much it cost everyone for training well heres my situation..... I'm currently attending a local community college and majoring in Engineeing, however I really want to switch into a flight program because Ive wanted to be a pilot since I was 11 and I don't want to get a job in something I don't enjoy. Well im a year into the engineering but I wouldn't have a problem transfering into my communitty colleges flight degree.... They estimate the flight cost in the degree over the two years to be around $32,000 or so. Tuition at the school is around 3,400 a year.... I plan on transfering into a four year school and get a 4 year degree with aviation and minor in buisness.... While away at school I will be a flight intructor hopefully to build hours.. Heres the problem-------------- I work for Delta Airlines making $9.00/hr, live at home but really want to get into this program however I only have $8,000 to start and my parents won't sign for a loan for the program.... My question to you guess is how can I get the money to pay for it in my circumstances... Is there anyway.... how did you guys do it?? Im 19 years old by the way
please answer all these questions IN ORDER.? What is being a pilot like on family life and family? How much do pilots get paid? Is it a fun or hard job? What is better, to be a a pilot for Southwest Airlines, or Delta Connection (atlantic southeast airlines)
