Airline Travel? I have some friends that live in Ireland. I really want them to travel over, but they are 15, 13 and 11. Does anyone know what airline companies will let them on without an adult? We were planning for them to come on British Airways, and Aer Lingus, but one company lets them on and another doesn't! Please help me!
Airline travel? I am flying for the first time on Monday to Denver. I am 23 and terrified. Any suggestions? or things I should know? My biggest concern is that I won't fit into the seat, which is ridiculous because I only weigh about 250 and I'm 5'11" and I know that there are bigger people than me that fly...right? Please don't ridicule me about my size, I have a disorder that makes it hard to loose weight, I just want suggestions about airline travel...any do's or don'ts would be wonderful...thank you!
airline travel? If I enter my flight details i.e starting destination and final destination with the departure and return dates. Is there a site that will give me the price listing of all the airlines at the same time so I can compare easily rather than going to individual sites?
What website do you use for airline travel? I haven't flown in a couple of years and would like to know the websites that are used for leisurely airline travel. I'm flying from Phoenix AZ. to Providence R.I. the end of July. I heard that Tues and Wed are the best travel days so I plan to leave and return on one of those days so I'll be gone about a week. Thanks for any help.
Separate luggage flights for airline travel? I see that NASA is planning to replace the Space Shuttle with a dual system, sending cargo and supplies up in one rocket and returning to the classic style with crew and capsule modules in a second rocket. Cheaper and more efficient, and allows for different systems needs for the different payloads. Doesn't this also make sense for airline travel? At any given time, there are multiple airline companies flying from and to the exact same destinations only minutes apart. Why not have specific planes dedicated to carrying all the main luggage (cargo)? Then the passenger flights would have absolutely NO carry-on luggage on board, only handbags and laptop type cases. Security is streamlined, since the screening is so much simpler, and the passenger planes can dedicate themselves to passenger services. Smaller jets could carry cargo (coverted corp jets), so they'd get there faster. Your luggage would be waiting.
Why don't Visas and Airline Travel require fingerprint processing? It seems like an obvious question but perhaps I am unaware of something. If organizations like the FBI, CIA, Interpol and others require the ability to locate and apprehend international fugitives - Why don't Visas and Airline Travel require fingerprint processing?
Do you recommend railroad over airline travel? I'm disgusted with airport security and perky airline attendants. Do you see any big disadvantage in traveling by rail road from say Spokane to Chicago? I'm willing to take my time. Thanks Jim... You gave me another reason to avoid air travel that I'd not considered, although, you are more likely to be stuck dead by a legitimate corporate product that has been approved by the FDA.
What is the best airline to travel with my Golden Retriever? I travel once a year for about a month from Boston to Phoenix. What is the best airline to travel with my golden retriever (100 lbs)? Should I do anything to him to calm him? I've heard an excedrin helps but I don't want to harm him. Do airlines have restrictions on what months he can fly? I fly to Phoenix in December and leave back to Boston in January. Is that going to be a problem?
Should I worry about my suitcase being too big for International airline travel? I just bought a 29" Dockers rolling/spinning suitcase, and I like it a lot. However, it is large. It measures 20" wide x 29" tall x 11" thick, plus expands another 2" thick. The measurements total 60" if I don't use the expansion capability. Most airlines seem to have a 62" limit on size and 44 pounds - after which they will charge you. I haven't traveled much (but I plan to from now on) and I'm going to China in October. I am worried that this suitcase is too big and I will get charged extra. Air China's limits are 62" and 44 pounds. I thought about loading it up and weighing it (will do tomorrow), but I thought I'd ask people if they own a suitcase of this size and if they have or have not had problems with checking it in on various airlines. I guess I could return it and buy the next smaller size, but my trip is for 12 days so I feel like I need a larger bag. Any and all advice is appreciated!

Which is the best Airline to travel to London in? I've been researching airlines and plane ticket costs and have a varying degree from $1300 australia dollars to $2300 for a return trip from Sydney to London in January - February 2008. I am throwing up between, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic, as the cheaper ones such as Thai Airways I've been told aren't very good. I've travelled overseas before on other airlines but never BA or VA. Virgin is the more expensive of the two by about $600 dollars but I earn miles which I don't on British. I'd appreciate someone making my mind up for me! It's too difficult!

I need to get a bag to put my board in and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what type of bag or sleeve I should get. Can I get travel rewards for my airline tickets post-travel? I traveled to Europe and Egypt in January. When I returned, there were people trying to get me to sign up for a credit card with rewards. They said even the miles for where I'd just been would be rewarded. I didn't sign up because I've heard opening too many credit accounts is bad. Now, I'm interested in this. Is it possible to get any sort of mileage rewards (credit card rewards or airline rewards) for my travel, even though my trip is complete?

Does anyone know the Med restrictions on airline travel? I take quite a few medications daily and use a pill box. This allows me to seperate my meds for use at different times of the day/night. Now, due to inspections by airport security will I be able to take my pill box (loaded & seperated) or must I bring each med bottle individually?
what is your worst airline travel experience? I got bumped off a flight, put back on, then forced to wait in a shuttle to the tarmac with no seats where I couldn't reach the bar. then they cancelled the flight. anyone else have a terrible experience? 10 points for the worst one.
Wireless broadband card and airline travel? I know the airlines claim the reason you cannot operate cell phones and "electronic devices" while the plane is flying bc they supposedly could interfere with the navigational systems. However, many in the telecommunications industry (and others) dispute this as an excuse to force you to use the airline's own (obviuosly wireless) seat-back phones at upwards of $2.00 a minute. They've been talking about letting ppl use their cell phones in flight already, there is such a demand (and many of us dread the idea of listening to obnoxiuos chatter for 3 hours straight and would just as soon prefer they DONT allow it). Ok so.....right now, if you whipped out your cell phone and made a call during flight, someone is going to come drag you out of your seat and throw you off the plane at the next stop. BUT.......what if you have a wireless broadband card in your laptop.....how would they know (or notice) if you were quietly surfing the internet at 35,000 feet? Do you think you could get busted?
Is Continental Airlines really the best airline to travel on? I always see the Continental Airline commercials on TV, and they are always bragging about their airline. I never hear any of the other airlines gragging. Does Continental Airlines does anything different then the other airlines, and why do they always bragg an the other airlines don't? Just curious.
What is the best airline to travel on when pregnant? We are planning on flying home mid-late august and around that time I will be about 28-30 weeks, depending on the week we go. My Dr Ok'd it as long as I don't start to have pre-term labor before that or anything like that. I am just curious which airline would be best for that stage of pregnancy. Obviously, I would get an aisle seat, but is there a difference in the amount of leg room or accomodations by airline?
Can a travel agency or airline company track past trips? Can a travel agency or airline company track past trips? If i can't find my old passport, can i track down my travel schedule through an airline company or the travelling agency that I might have used in 1995?
