Anybody ever book a Trip using southwest airlines Vacation package? Are we not able to do on line check in? What are the step to redeem the vouchers? No minors just the wife and I. I'm assuming they don't offer online to those with the deals since it's so cheap and save it for the full price ticket buyers. i guess I'll call.

Southwest Airlines Vacation-Disneyland package ? Just purchased a southwest airlines vacation package. Never booked a vacation package before and haven't been on a plane in about 8 yrs. My ?'s are: I got the airline tickets in the mail today, it states I can check in online, print out a security pass, take that to the airport, but I still need a boarding pass, do I still get through security and can get the boarding pass at the gate or do I have to stand in the long line with all the others before I go through security? 2nd ?. Southwest said all I needed was my Itinerary to check in @ the hotel and to get my disneyland tickets @ will call, when I got my travel docs, there was no itinerary, just the flight tickets, they did, however, email me an itinerary. Am I suppose to get some kind of voucher to check in at the hotel and a voucher to get the disneyland park tickets or is the itinerary okay? Like I said I usually buy my tickets at the AAA store and book the flight and hotel sep., has anyone done a trip like this with southwest? Tks much.

Who thinks Southwest Airlines is crappy? I always thought that they were the cheapest airline is that true ? On one of their planes a seat that a relative of mine was sitting in had a broken seat-belt and when I noticed I told and she replied by bringing an index finger across her lips and making the "Shhhh" sound. Do they xray or look in checked bags on southwest airlines? I am going to be taking a a short fligh on southwest home from a vacation, I purchased a small bong/bubbler that I need to take back. The actuall body of it is plastic so I can just put it in my pocket going through security and take it on the plane and(it's like 5 inches tall and like test tube size) but the bad part is the peice and downstem are metal so I can't bring hem through security, would it be on to put the downstem and peice in my checked luggage, the bowl has never been smoke out of but the downstem has some resin in it that I could partially remove.

Can you hook up a laptop in a Southwest Airline plane? I'm going on vacation in a couple weeks on a three hour flight and I plan on bringing my laptop. Ok - so what's the deal with this caveat on Southwest and United Airlines vacation sites: Guests attending a convention cannot use this property for their stay. Received this message when trying to book the Rio hotel for a conference I'm attending. Can the hotel actually 'tell' whether I'm attending the conference? How would they ever know? What are Southwest Airlines Baggage rules? Here's the deal-in about a month, I'll be flying to Vegas for a vacation and I want to know what you can and can't bring on the plane. I'm a girl and I want to bring my flat iron, perfume, contacts, etc. Just personal items. I've tried searching this on google and no one gives me specifics. I have an expensive flat iron, expensive perfume, and I would like to know if they're going to take these away when I go through security. Southwest Airline help? Hello, I've never flown before and I will be flying Southwest Airlines from LAX-SAT (USA) next week. I noticed that you can check in online and was wondering if you could still do that even if you are checking luggage. I'm just checking one bag and I just want to make sure I'm doing this all correctly, and if you can, do I just bring my bag to the counter when I arrive with my documents? Which commerical airlines still treat their coach passengers with some decency? I recently flew American Airlines on my honeymoon, and for a two hour flight, the only came to us once and asked if we wanted something to drink. On the second segment going to my honeymoon, which was also two hours, I did ask the flight attendant for another drink, and it seemed like she did it grudgingly. It seems like American Airlines employees have an attitude toward customers, unless your in first class (which if I did that, I would have paid as much,if not more, for the plane tickets alone, as I did for the entire vacation package) So I am thinking about withdrawing from American's mileage program. Do you have to pay full fare to redeem credit card miles? I am trying to decide on what type of rewards credit card to get. I've narrowed down the two airfare miles cards to the Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier ($99 annual fee) and the Capital One Venture card ($59 annual fee.) The Chase/Southwest card is only good on Southwest (and maybe AirTran, which SWA just bought.) The Capital One card is good for any airline and there are no blackout dates (at least none imposed by Capital One.) The Chase/Southwest card gives a 25,000 mile (about $480 towards the price of a ticket) bonus after the first purchase and the Capital One card gives only 10,000 miles ($100). The Capital One card gives 2 miles for every dollar spent, and the Chase card gives only 1 mile for every dollar spent, unless it is on Southwest airfare or other travel with one of Southwest's partners. The Southwest card also gives 6,000 ($100) bonus miles on every anniversary of receiving the card. However, the Southwest miles expire after two years, and the Capital One miles have no expiration date. For the Chase card, the miles convert to dollars at a ratio of 60 to 1. So, for every 60 miles, it is worth $1.00 towards the price of the ticket. For the Capital One card, it is one percent, so you have to spend 100 miles to get $1.00 towards the price of the ticket. Since you get 2 miles for every dollar on the Venture card, it is actually a 50 to 1 ratio in terms of dollars spent to cash back. My title question is really for the Capital One Venture card as it does not apply to Southwest Airlines: In order for me to redeem those miles, would I have to purchase a full fare ticket, or can I buy a ticket via a travel website like Expedia? I don't travel for business, so the only trips I take are personal vacations. Should I just skip airline miles rewards cards completely and just go for a cash back (or points) card like the Citi Thank You card? Thanks. I guess if the credit card were airline specific like the cards for miles on American, United (Continental), or Delta, then they would not have any fare conversion, as it would be just be direct miles-to-miles credit. My question does not matter for Southwest, as their convert to dollars towards the already-discounted "wanna get away?" fare, and they don't do business with the discounted travel/airfare websites.

Reservations at more than one hotel? In October of this year, I will be buying a vacation package to Fort Myers through Southwest Airlines that covers hotel and plane fees. However, this time, during my vacation, I plan to head down to Key West and book a hotel in Key West for a night. Which Orlando vacation package is better? Hi. My parents and I (i'm 22 by the way but still a kid at heart) are planning to going to Orlando in March 2012. I can't really decide whether to get a package or get it separately because of advantages and disadvantages of the two. Basically, I can't decide on whether to book a vacation package from travel sites like Expedia or Travelocity knowing that Southwest Airlines aren't affiliated with them and so that's my problem (not really haha). See, if we book a package at a travel site, we'd have to book flights with airlines like US Airways, Delta or AA which all charge check baggage fees (of at least $25/bag) BUT if we book at Southwest, we get to bring two bags free of charge each. I am sure you know why--hehe, we are sure we'll be buying a lot of stuff from the outlet malls there hehee. So booking with Southwest is an upside because it's accepts free bags; however, if I book a package and board in a non-Southwest plane, for some reason with a hotel for 7 nights, the charge would fall into about $1150 to $1200 max only (based on prices now...I 'booked' a hypothetical trip in that I set in sept/oct and the prices were about that much). Compared to booking at Southwest, 3 round trip tickets from SFO to MCO would total to $1100 at least AND if we book at a hotel that is in the 2 to 3 star price, the 7-night hotel stay would cost about $300 so that is $1400 right there compared to $1200 from booking a travel. (Another fee we need to pay is the theme park tickets but those can be bought directly from Universal Studios website so the price is fixed at $420 for three 3-day base tickets--there's really no difference if we buy them from travel sites or U.S. site.) The reason why I mentioned all this is that I am not sure if booking a package is really THAT worth it since non-SW airlines charge $25/bag/person. Let's say we don't bring any bag from departure [only the carry on and personal item] but bring 3 filled duffel bags (1 per each of us) in the return flight, would the $75 fee be okay considering, we saved some money in the rest anyway? PS: Ooo, another plus from booking a non-SW flight is the mini entertainment system! hahaha. PS#2: As for transportation, rental car is not necessary because we can just take the bus from the airport, take complimentary hotel shuttles to the U.S. theme park and i-Ride trolley to restaurants, attractions and shops in the International Drive. PS#3: Yes, I'll make sure our hotel is in or near the I-Drive so destinations are only a trolley ride away heheheh... PS#4: Why do I know transportation isn't a problem? Because I recently went to Orlando this March but we only stayed for 3 nights so we didn't get to go around much in the area. I'm hoping to go back next Spring break as that's when I'll be pretty much done with college and staying there for at least 7 nights would finally make me relax. I could care less about the amount of stars that a hotel has just as long as it's clean, offers free shuttle to parks and free of bedbugs HAHA! What do you think? Mailing our stuff home would cost as much considering UPS now charge about $40 per 50lb package.

I need to send a live animal (miniature dachshund) as cargo, but what is the cheapest way to do it? Well, I booked a flight with Southwest Airlines and apparently they do not accept animals on board or as cargo unless they are for persons with disabilities. I could leave my dog with my husband, but I would prefer my dog to be with me while I'm on a 2 week vacation. I did call American Airlines and it is like $195 one way. Is there anything cheaper? Like does FedEx send out animals? Please note that this is a live animal for you silly folk. (Oh, and I'm not going to go into every detail as to why I want my dog with me and why I don't want to leave my dog with my husband - I just want someone who can answer this question straightfoward or who actually has a very good suggestion.) To answer the 2nd question - I'm really not sure why Southwestern Airlines forbids animals as 'under the seat' passengers or cargo. Once again they must be a service animal.

Is it too much for me to ask or is he overreacting? My fiance and I planned to take a short vacation the first week of Dec. to Vegas since he had free flights through Southwest Airlines. We have a 2 year old daughter. I already made arrangements to have my mom watch our daughter from Fri-Sun that week. Let me say she is more than happy to keep her. However, when my fiance booked the trip, he added my daughter on to it and booked it from Fri-Mon. My mom will not be able to take that Monday off of work so I suggested either we find a flight to come back Sun or ask his mom if she could stay home from work that night and keep her until we make it back home. He says that it's not fair to ask his mother to take a vacation day off of work so that she can do that so he'd rather just take her with us. Let me say that I REALLY dont think his mom is against doing this and she helps us a lot by watching her during the week while we work. Also, she's done it MANY times for his bro and wife so that they can travel. And I figure all she can say is NO or YES! If she say no, then we'll have to work something else out. I also want to say I absolutely LOVE my child and no I am not trying to ditch her. I work and take care of her to the fullest. We both are hard workers taking care of our daughter and could use a couple of days away and spend some quality time together (which we do not do at all). Plus, I absolutely do not think we should take our daughter to Vegas. I dont think it's kid friendly. I guess my question is am I in the wrong for wanting to ask his mother if she could take a VACATION day off of work to watch our daughter until we return home or is he overreacting about us asking? And also, what do you think about taking a child to Vegas anyway?

Lost items on a plane? I just got home from a family trip. I took my camera with me on my plane (Southwest Airlines) and my camera fell out of my bag on the plane and I do not have it. I know my plane number I was on and my flight number. I called lost and found and it has not been brought in. The plane that landed in my hometown DID NOT go anywhere after our flight which means my camera is still on that plane. Is there ANY WAY I can call the service and they can go LOOK on the plane and try to find it from where I sat??? My whole family vacation is on that camera and I would hate to have someone find it and (worst case scenario) sell those pictures. (nothing bad but just pictures of my family) PLEASE if anyone knows any way I can have someone find it from the plane that would be VERY helpful. Thank You, -Eden

What is the best booster seat to fly with? We are taking our first family vacation this June. I have never flown with a child.. let alone fly since I have been a young child! We are using Southwest Airlines. My son's current car seat is 22 inches, which I know is too wide. Can someone explain what my weird dream means? The following is a dream I had last night. Certain parts keep happening over and over. Here is as much detail I remember: I was going on vacation and i had to fly to get there. I happened to see my two friends when i boarded the plane. We decided to sit together. I vividly remember the airline was Southwest. I was very nervous on the plane. Once it took off I walked around and noticed their were tables on the plane and people were eating. I went to bin of ice cream and i tried to scoop some, but i dropped the scoop. After telling the stewardess, I went back to my seat and sat down. Than all of a sudden me and my friends are sitting outside a store in a plaza. We walked in the store and for some reason were held hostage with many others. I don't remember what was holding us in the store. We made a break for the door and made it out. (I'd had the dream about being held in the store twice) Once we escaped we ran up the street, and i wanted to close my eyes and be in the plane again. I tried opening and closing them but every time i would do it they would stay stuck together for a second. Than after opening and closing them a few times I was laying in my bed. I was convinced this was the end of my dream. (the following part of my dream has occurred many times and scares me quite a bit) Than, a voice from somewhere said "I'll be cold if your cold", and then my ears started ringing, intensifying every second, and than I was freezing cold and numb all over my body, while this strong, strong, wind pushed me into bed. Than i woke up in my bed, shaking. I have no idea what the meaning of the parts of this strange dream, but I'm open to ideas!

Which airline should I go NYC-LA? I have done the NYC (Newark, La Guardia, JFK)-LA many times with ''regular'' airlines (Delta, Continental, US Air, American, United). Disney World vacationing trip? Okay, we MIGHT be going to Disney World again, in August of 2010. We will be going for 5 days. There will be 5 adults, and 1 child, (age 14), we will be staying at the All-Star Music resort. (4 nights). Could someone tell me roughly how much this would cost, including airfare? For some reason my computer blocks out the Disney Website, and I'm a tad confused on the airlines part. We will be flying from Chicago to Orlando on Southwest.
