Southwest Airlines Boarding Pass - how to get "A" seat? I travel fairly frequently on Southwest and typically print an on-line boarding pass as soon as the 24 advance notice window opens. Recently, I have noticed that all "A" seats (1-30) have already been taken. Is there a way to get an "A" boarding pass other than the normal 24 hour period? I am aware that there is now a system to pay extra for early boarding, but I thought that was for A 1 - 10 only??
Do you know the process of checking in to get boarding pass for Southwest Airlines? I have heard that Southwest Airlines have been provide the online check in and got A B C D on boarding pass, but I don't know that Do I need to do that while I'm at LAX or not? or Can I just go to the counter and check in by the time? About my Southwest Airlines Security Pass, Ticket, And Boarding Pass..? Hello, I have recently just checked in for my flight and got my security pass for TSA but on the top of the page it states to bring my security pass along with my paper ticket to the gate to receive my boarding pass. Where do I get my paper ticket? And I also booked my flight as early bird so when do I get to see the boarding position I got? This is my first time flying Southwest so I would like a little guidance here. Thanks

Southwest Airlines Check-In/ Boarding pass question? I just checked in for my flight exactly 24 hours before it departs and I got an A-37 boarding pass. I thought that I would get something better, especially because I checked in EXACTLY 24 hours before my flight departs. Why am I so far back?
Boarding Pass southwest airline? I will be riding in southwest airline. I do not have a printer. What do i do with the ticketless confirmation? and where to get my boarding pass?? It's my first time riding in a plane so please tell me what to do (Again, I have no printer as i know some people print out boarding pass online a day before or rapid award card thing~) Thank you
Southwest Airlines new boarding policy? Has anyone experienced the new boarding groups policy that is being instituted by Southwest (your boarding pass # determines the boarding order)? Did you like it? They have also added an elitist group, actually known as the "A List" which is frequent fliers that already have the A boarding passes reserved for them before they even check in. This means that you are unlikely to get an A pass unless you are on this list.
Boarding Pass for Southwest airline? I booked my plane ticket for Southwest Airline yesterday. (For this AUGUST) I printed out a copy of the receipt that was sent to my email (Ticketless Confirmation). How do I retrieve a boarding pass now? (Like where?) Sorry, this is my first time ever going on a plane.
does southwest airlines book the boarding passes alphabetically or as you check in? we are traveling to florida in a few days and we were wondering if we could print our boarding passes at home. we found out we could but we would like to know if when we print them out if our seats will be together. does southwest book them alphabetically or just randomly or as you print them out, thats what seat you get? any help would be appreciated.
How to get boarding pass "A" for Southwest Airlines? Please give thorugh directions, websites, your personal experience, anything that would help. Remeber I do NOT want to hack my boarding pass. No silly answers. Ok so here is the scoop. I always travel about every year with my family during the summer time, and every-time we get boarding pass "C". We always sit on the back of the plane, and have to deal with that stupid, loud, annoying engine. I googled my question, and it said that you can hack your boarding pass. I do not want to do that. I want to get boarding pass "A" fair and square. I heard that boarding pass "A" is for business and children under the age of 11 or 4. I at least would like to get boarding pass A position 20 maybe. Please help me A.S.A.P. Thank you in advance. ~.Reward.~ -thumbs up -best answer
Southwest Airlines- early boarding? I used a website once where you can check in up to a few weeks before your flight.. so you automatically get section "A" and the day before Southwest emails you the boarding pass. DOes anyone know the site? I forgot to bookmark.

Boarding on Southwest Airlines? I just booked a flight to Vegas on Southwest, at a great price. Chose the "Wanna get away" option (Cheapest one). I am just wondering exactly how boarding works since there are no assigned seats. I know that I need to get the boarding pass A. But how do I obtain this. Can I print it out? Or do we have to show up early? How do it work. And is there any way to find out if the flight is going to be crowded, because if not, we may not have to rush so much since there will be seats available. Also, is there anything else I should be aware of in Southwest. Uhh no, sorry, I know for a FACT that is wrong. My question is where and when to print boarding pass.
Would there be ticketing people to check in with Southwest airlines at 5 am? I have an early flight with Southwest Airlines, and my airport (PHL) requires me to check in 2 hrs. before my flight. I plan to (or want to) check in at the airport but I'm not sure if there will be people that check you in with Southwest Airlines (the ones that print out your real boarding pass) at 4:30 in the morning? Please help: i've never flown this early and thus never had this problem
How does my boarding pass work? I am flying Southwest Airlines in 2 days from LA to Houston with a connection in Vegas. If I have a boarding pass for A group to Vegas, will I also have an A group boarding pass from Vegas to Houston?
Please help with Southwest Airlines check in? Sorry, I know I already asked a similar question, but I just need to know: I checked in for my flights using the Southwest iPhone app, and I got to the boarding pass and whatnot, but there's no barcode? Boarding passes are usually scanned as you board the plane, so do I need to pick up a legitimate boarding pass while checking my luggage? Or can I just show them the boarding pass on my phone at the gate? Please help!
What are your tips for flying Southwest Airlines? I've only flown this airline once before, and I was almost ready to strangle someone. People were SO rude, cutting in front of old ladies just to get to the front of the line. I wasn't able to print my boarding pass exactly 24 hours before the flight, so I'm in the B group.
What is the best way to get a good seat on Southwest Airlines? I have heard that the earlier you get your boarding pass, the more likely you are to get in the first group to go on. Is that true? If you print your boarding pass at home, does it matter how early you check in at the airport regarding seating? Does SW have first-class seats you have to avoid, or are they all one class?
Online check in with Southwest airlines? I have never checked in online before, so if anyone could help me that would be great. If I check in on line does that mean I go straight to the gate and not check in? I don't need anything else? I can print my ticket and boarding pass on my printer? I afraid I'll get there and something will be wrong and I wont be able to fly!
Letting friends past airport security at IAH? Ok. Well I'm moving to France in june and currently I live in Houston, tx (really big airport). Well I'm going to go on my one-way flight on June 5th and I have two friends who wanna go to the airport with me. I told them it'll be hard getting past security but they wouldn't take that. But I remember I was flying southwest airlines from hobby alone and I took my mother past security with me to assist me to the gate. SA had a pass to go pass security but you need a family or a friends who has a southwest airlines boarding pass. Does air France (airline I'm flying on), have something like that at the George bush intercontinental airport? Or will the security people at IAH be nice and let them go past? That's least likely.
How do I get a special boarding pass? Help please!? My daughter is 13 and traveling by herself on Thursday. I would want to walk her to her gate, because it is her first time traveling alone. How can I get a pass for myself to walk her to the gate? I am flying SouthWest Airlines. An answer would be great!
Help With Southwest Airlines? So, I just booked an Ticketless Travel thing from Southwest Airlines, and I'm asking do you have to do online check in for this? Also, If you happen do need to do an online check in, you have to print our your own boarding pass right? If you do have to print out a boarding pass, is there some kind of special paper you need?
Who has used Southwest Airlines Online Check-in? If you were early enough, were you able to reserve A? I'm traveling with a larger group and we'd like to stay together. Also, did you encounter any problems on the computer or at the airport with the boarding pass you printed out? I want to do it but I'm a bit nervous because I don't want to bring it down and then encounter some type of problem where I would have to buy another ticket or something.
Checking in on Southwest Airlines? Ok...I travel a lot...but this is my first time on Southwest in over 5 years. I just had a question for some of you more frequent SW travelers. I want to checkin online (I have an eligible reservation) but at this time, my printer does not work. Can I still checkin, get an AXX boarding pass and then (re)print my boarding pass at the airport but still get my AXX boarding pass? I have checked in online on other airlines without printing...but i was wondering if this could be done on SW...thanks. Ha...im not flying until April but...I spazz out about these things so....
Does southwest airlines take your money right away when you booked tickets? I booked the tickets online yesterday and im flying on sep.30th and be back on oct 2nd. And then I checked my bank account, my money was still there so Im wondering when they'll charge me? And when can i check in? it says Check in beginning 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. Check in at least one hour prior to your scheduled departure. so it means i can only print my boarding pass one day before i take off? and what do i do once i arrive at the airport? do i just look for southwest airlines and then go to the counter and give them my boarding pass? thank you soo much!
How to check what Southwest gate number? I already checked in and printed out my boarding pass but I don't see any gate number. On united it would say "Gate: __" but I don't see anything like that. So how do I check Gate number for Southwest airlines?
Southwest Airlines Vacation-Disneyland package ? Just purchased a southwest airlines vacation package. Never booked a vacation package before and haven't been on a plane in about 8 yrs. My ?'s are: I got the airline tickets in the mail today, it states I can check in online, print out a security pass, take that to the airport, but I still need a boarding pass, do I still get through security and can get the boarding pass at the gate or do I have to stand in the long line with all the others before I go through security? 2nd ?. Southwest said all I needed was my Itinerary to check in @ the hotel and to get my disneyland tickets @ will call, when I got my travel docs, there was no itinerary, just the flight tickets, they did, however, email me an itinerary. Am I suppose to get some kind of voucher to check in at the hotel and a voucher to get the disneyland park tickets or is the itinerary okay? Like I said I usually buy my tickets at the AAA store and book the flight and hotel sep., has anyone done a trip like this with southwest? Tks much.
Southwest airlines question? We're flying next week with our two year old. We REALLY want to get the first row seats. I'm planning on printing out my boarding passes the day before to get group A. What else should I do? Can I ask the person working at the reservations desk for the front row seat? Thanks!
Unaccompanied minor on Southwest Airlines! PLZ answer !! :]? Hi well I have a few problems about flying alone..... Well I am flying alone on Southwest Airlines in 2 weeks and since I am over the limit for unaccompanied minor I am considered a youth (ages 12-22).So here are a few questions: * Since I am not a UM do I have to go through security alone or can my mom/dad take me through security? * I don't have a learner's permit/drivers permit, so can I just use my school ID? (if i can find it LOL) * If I can't find ID can I just show them my boarding pass and flight itinerary? *When I get to my final destination can I just get off the plane to the baggage claim area, or will the SWA flight attendants take me to the people who are picking me up? (remember I am not in UM program) *And does SWA Airlines have good inflight snacks or should I bring my own? ******************************************************************************* SRY! about all the questions but I just need to know the answers to these questions. Thanks to everyone who took the time 2 answer :] -Laila J.
Copy of Southwest Airlines e-ticket/ itinerary ?? I'm trying to pull a prank on a friend whose dad works for Southwest and I need a scan of an e-ticket boarding pass. It needs to be a real one because his dad works for it so he knows exactly what they look like and I don't. Please send me a scan if possible. I will do anything for you if you can do this!!!!!!!!!!
Southwest Airlines Kiosk? The person im flying to bought my plane ticket using her credit card. i wanna use a kiosk at the airport but clearly i do no have the credit card. Is there anything i can "punch in" on the kiosk to get my boarding pass? Like a confirmation code or maybe the flight number?
Position number for Southwest Airlines? I know that you can print out your boarding pass online, which I plan to do, but I'm confused about the "position" number. Say for instance I get A23. When they call for group A1-30 what's the significance of the 23? Do they check everyone's position number to see if they're in the correct numerical order, or do you have to rush to the door when they announce your group? Do people stand in front of the door before they even call anyone so that they can get ahead of everyone? I'm just wondering what it's like because I've never flown southwest and need to know if I'll have to rush to the gate to get a good seat even if I get a good position on my ticket. THanks!
HELP! Southwest Airlines is being joe(dumb)? For some reason, it would only allow my mother to check in right and then when I tried to book myself in online, it told me, that there's no boarding pass for me and I needed to check-in at the airport. What a waste omg I dont even know if I can get to the airport in time cuz I use public transportation! ugh! How come my mom gets in before I do?! man, I hate this...
Flying on Southwest airlines from Midway to Orlando for first time!? I have a few questions because all this is foreign to me. Details are awesome! 1.) 24 hour check-in for me and my boyfriend--> I went online to look at the check-in site for SW and it only has one space for confirmation and first, last name on the main page. After I put my info, will there be another spot I can check in my boyfriend so we sit together? Ex. If I'm B32 he's B33? 2.) Walk me through please... We get dropped off from my parents. Great. Now what? So from the time I walk in Midway Airport doors to the point where I am sitting on the plane.... I will have carry-on.... luggage... and am doing the 24 hour prior check-in. I'm thinking I go in--- go thru security metal detector...check-in my carry-on bag... go drop off my luggage... then sit on the plane. I know I'm probably way off on what to do or where to go--but that's why I'm asking you guys. 3.) So I have my 24 hour check-in online boarding pass and stuff. I'm at the airport.... I'm number 32B. Now what? Do I have to wait in a line that says B and wait in numerical order or what? What if my boyfriend has 59B? But if we check-in together, that shouldn't happen..right? It kind of goes back to question 1. Is there like a drop-bar where I can add another person to board with me? I am sooooo lost. I'm sorry for being such a pain in the butt! Any advice will help! If you can answer my question that would be awesome and will def reward some1 with best answer to give you points! Thanks again, Tiffany
Has anybody else had major problems with Southwest Airlines pet policy? Southwest Airlines made us leave our sweet 15 pound rescue puppy in Little Rock, after they let us fly there. We met all the specifications to get the dog on board, and the main reason he did not get on the plane was because Southwest Airlines hired employees who are supposed to be in charge of checking the dogs, but hate dogs/ are deathly afraid of them, and do not know how to follow their own rules. And now our puppy is in LR, he already has seperation anxiety, he had vet appointments today in SD, and all because of petty cruel employees. Also, Southwest does not seem to care enough to respond quickly to the situation, because we are just 2 nobodies as far as they are concerned, and think it is ok to let our family puppy be away from his loving owners. Please write them at https://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/feedbackEntry and put in reference #164211661 and let them know this is unacceptable. Also, any lawyers or journalist, or people who know any of those types, who would be interested in helping, please contact me. Sunday morning, at 5:30 am Beren (my fiance) and I (Jonathan) went to the Little Rock Airport with our 6 month old puppy Gatsby (half dachshund/half cocker spaniel, 15 pounds) to fly back to San Diego on Southwest Airlines. We had sedated Gatsby but Beren had him in her arms as we waited to check our bags and to purchase the pet boarding pass that we had already reserved. The Southwest lady finished with the passenger ahead of us in line, and so we walked up to her. She all of a sudden noticed Gatsby in Beren's arms and freaked out. Freaked out bad, because apparently she was afraid of all dogs, even cute 15 pound puppies that are asleep. She told Beren to put him in the dog crate immediately, and she said that he had to be in his crate at all times, which we know is not entirely true, because you have to take him out to go through security, and the policy said that he only has to be in his crate once you go through security, so she was misinformed. She calls out her supervisor because she is so freaked that she saw a dog, even though it is part of her job, and so he comes out suspicious and slightly hostile. He then says that the dog is too big and that he is not getting on the flight. We flew with Gatsby to LR from SD and have before, he is under 25 pounds, and meets all their policies regarding dogs, and they let us bring him here. Beren told him that Gatsby is 15 pounds and not too big. Then the supervisor said that the crate was too small for gatsby. We put Gatsby in the crate to show that he was erroneous. THen the supervisor said that the dog needs to stand up in the crate. Southwest policy says the dog must be able to move around comfortably and be able to stand up in the crate. We have the measurements to prove that Gatsby can stand up in the crate and move around, but the man just was not in a good mood and was rude and just kept saying no and no and no, because Beren was crying and telling him that this is ridiculous, the dog had flown several times in that crate, he can stand up, he just wasnt at that split second because he was sedated to ensure that he was quiet in the plane for the other passengers and it was also 5:30 am. THE CRATE HAD THE BOARDING PASS FROM SAN DIEGO STILL ON IT SHOWING GATSBY HAD FLOWN FROM THERE AND HAD PASSED THEIR INSPECTION. The man tells Beren she needs to calm down and that there is no way that the dog is getting on the flight (which was only half full, and we had reservations for Gatsby, and we had met all their requirements because we had traveled a few times with him, nor did he suggest using another crate that we could have gotten from our family). Beren goes outside and calls her stepmother Ashley who dropped us off, and Ashley returns and attempts to talk to them. THe supervisor was already holding Berens boarding pass and wouldnt hand it over to me, luckily we had online versions printed off. Ashley walks in with Gatsby in the crate, Gatsby is standing up in the crate, moving around in it, and Ashley points that out, and the supervisor is being obtuse and stubborn and just says no. Ashley starts arguing, and eventually the police come over to see what the problem is, so I grab Ashley and tell her we have to leave. Ashley takes Gatsby and drives home and Beren and I get on the plane, because we have obligations that had to be taken care of. Luckily our families live in LR, or we dont know what we would have done. All this started because Southwest hired a woman who was deathly afraid of dogs, even though part of her job is checking in dogs. Then it being so early in the morning and the only supervisor working is not in a good mood and not a puppy lover, so they tell us our puppy can not go home with us. They let us fly to LR with our 15 pound puppy in his airline approved crate that he definitely fits in, but then because of ignorant employees in LR, we do not have our cute little puppy dog with us, who had vet appointments today and frida
How does check in with southwest airlines work exactly? The questions are toward the end if you just want to answer, but take time and read please :D Since southwest has this new check in thing, I was wondering how it works. I know i have to check in 24 hours in advance to the departure of the flight and I need to check in four people. Im going to wake up at 6:30 tommorow to do this. Their is a check in place right on the southwest website. Look for yourself. www.southwest.com, and their is 4 arrows pointing to different tools and stuff. When you click check in online it asks confirmation number, first and last name. when i click go will i need to fill out more info or im done. and do i have to check in each of m family members one by one?and do i have to print boarding passes? Do i check in the "main person" and it will give me options to check in everybody? thanks 10 points to whoever gives best answer
Southwest Airlines flight reservation? I just checked in online, 24 hours before my flight tomorrow. But I'm staying at a friend's house and I can't print anything from her computer, does this mean my boarding group and position will the last ones if I get my pass at the airport tomorrow? Or does the position and boarding group it says I have online stay with me when I print it out at the airport tomorrow?
I Can't Check In Online for My Flight for Southwest Airlines! Help!? Okay, so I need to use the online check-in so I can print my boarding passes, but it says my reservations were canceled, but I never canceled anything!!! I still have the e-mail with my itinerary and confirmation code and when I enter the info in, it says it was canceled, but like I said, I didn't cancel anything! Please help, my flight is in 12 hours and I need to get these boarding passes printed otherwise I'm screwed. Maybe they changed the way things worked in regards to this since the last time I had a flight, so if anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it. PS: If it's of any importance, the email with the itinerary says it has "Ticketless Travel" but I've never had it say anything like that. And on another note: this is the first time I've had to print out the boarding passes myself, so I may just be doing something wrong, and I can't ask my father 'cause he has no idea what to do either. Thank you both of you for suggesting to call, it worked. Apparently my grandma (who booked the flight) re-booked it so the confirmation number changed. Southwest gave me it so I got the boarding passes now. Thanks again! :)
College student going to airport by himself for the first time? Ok I have the shuttle to the airport ready, boarding pass printed out, things packed but what should I know between the time I get off the shuttle and on the plane (and claiming baggage when I arrive)? What are some things I should avoid taking on the plane? (I plan on taking things like laptop, ipod, chargers, and jacket) What is the basic routine to checking in? (southwest airlines) And other miscellaneous things that might be important? P.S. I have 4 hours till my flight leaves when the shuttle arrives.
What's a PFC fee? It's on the ticket thing they emailed my mom (she bought my ticket) under the stuff they added up to come up with the total amount she had to pay. There's air, tax, security, and PFC. So what is it? It's with Southwest Airlines and it's a round-trip ticket. It's just the receit thing though. Whatever they email to you when you buy a ticket, that you use to get a boarding pass when you get to the airport.
Big problems cancelling Continental Airline refundable ticket through Orbitz? Knowing plans might change, on Orbitz, I purposely searched for refundable fares (by checking "only show refundable fares" under expanded search options). Additional note, I needed to cancel because they jacked up my father and I's boarding pass names because they said they don't put middle names on boarding passes (we both have the same first/last names). I smelt something fishy was going on when they said we have to put Mr. John Smith on one ticket and John Smith on the other. Now when trying to cancel and get my refund back. Their policy is NOT to deposit the entire amount back into a cc account, but I get my money back as a credit for a future flight. The problem with this is is that in order to fly somewhere else you must pay $250 fee per ticket and additional $30 fee per ticket and any additional airline rate fare increases in the future. So for my dad and I to fly from Houston to Corpus Christi, it will cost me $540 + $560 of fees! Info on their site (and probably most airlines) is very vague and dubious. Orbitz shafts its customers and have no personal care for their customers like Southwest Airlines does! The moral of the story is never book so-called refundable fares through a travel agency, especially in these so-called "financial crisis" times.
It's my first flight and I'm scared! I have no idead what to do!? Ok so it's not a long flight, one hour. lol But what scares me is it's my first air flight and I have no idea what to do and expect! My mom cannot get off with me because San Antonio airport doesn't let people who are not getting on a plane to actually get off! That's absurd but whatever! Anyway we booked the plane online from Southwest airlines. I have the printed sheet that I need but what do I do with it and what do I do with the suit case!? I don't even know what a boarding pass is and where I get one. Or do I not need one since I have the receipt from the internet? Also if the plane leaves at 2:00 what time do you suggest I get there? Help!!!
Toddler air travel questions? We have flown Southwest in the past because they have open seating and we could board first with our child. Do other airlines offer an open seating type of thing? Also how do you prevent your toddler from kicking the seat in front? Last year she was doing it playfully, at the age of almost one. We spent the entire flight basically holding her feet down while the lady in front of us kept looking back at us, all annoyed. How can I keep a just turning two year old entertained for a five hour flight? Have you ever used Benedryl? Thanks for the tips!
