Continental Tires? Are continental tires any good? They sell them at wal-Mart...for my truck they have goodyear and continental.
Is it just me or do Continental Tires have a much flatter sidewall than other brands? When I have gone to put new tires on my BMW, the Goodyear and Michelin tires always bulged out a bit more on the sides than the Continental tires, which made the car less aesthetically pleasing. I like the way the sidewall is so much flatter on the Continental tires that are are sold, for example, on newer BMWs. Can anyone tell me if having a straighter and flatter sidewall means that the tire is a better quality? Which tires are generally considered the best brand to buy?
What is the best cold psi for Continental Tires and Ziex Falken tires? I have a 2004 Mazda SUV and a 2002 Mazda Protoge; the SUV has Continental tires and the protoge has Ziex Falken tires; the SUV manual does not have any information on inflation nor is there any sticker on the door with any information about tire inflation. The 2002 tires did not come with the car. What is the best cold psi for both tires?
Trouble with the continental tires dealers put on 3 series BMWS? I have this thumping rhythm that comes from the front tires. Had it checked out a few times but no one seems to find anything wrong. Leads me to believe it's the Continental Tires. I have heard BMW has had problems with these stock tires they use and honestly I don't care for them at all. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Hearing this type of noise, like something stuck in the tire, when nothing is?
I keep popping Continental Ultra tires. What would you do? In the past 3 weeks i have popped 3 tubes through the Continental tires, 25c. one was a small steel wire, then a carpet tack and now a piece of glass (Black glass didn't even see the damn thing)....I ride on a bike path around a PGA golf course so im not sure how much better of an area i could ride....do you know of a tire insert the may offer a bit more protection that's designed for high pressure tires?
Has anyone had problems with Continental Tires? They came on my Dodge Magnum. I've had to replace two already and a third one has a slow leak. Also, the two that I haven't replaced yet seem to be very worn for only having 19,500 miles on them.
Has anyone owned Continental ContiProContact tires on VW Jetta? Someone is offering me a wheel and tires set for a VW Jetta. Tires are continental contiprocontact, new. The reviews on tirerack are not very good. Apparently these are the tires that come stock from VW on Jetta, Golf, passat etc.. anyone who has used these tires? Thanks
What size rims do i need for a (700x23c) 23-622 continental ultra race road bike tires? hi i both this old road bike to make a fixie, but it didn't have any tires. i went and also both some (700x23c) 23-622 continental ultra race road bike tires, but it does not seems to fit the bikes rims or wheels, what size wheels (rims) do i need to buy to make the tires fit. (i.e. i can't change the tires because i both it from a guy and he wouldn't take them back) thanks for your time
Should I buy Pep Boys Futura tires or dealer Continental tires for my Mazda 3? My 2004 Mazda 3 needs new tires. I can get four Pep Boys Futura Touring HR tires with installation and alignment for $416 or four Continental ProContact tires with installation and alignment for $485 from the dealer service station. Pep Boys gets horrible reviews for service, but the Futura tire reviews aren't too bad. The dealership guy says the Continental tires are better, but but a lot of people actually complain about them and I remember having problems with them when newer -- one guy writes on a Mazda forum "I got rid of my tires on a 2002 because of the cupping and resulting noise after 24,000 miles. I thought I had a wheel bearing problem. I purchased a set of Futura tires from Pep Boys here in Maryland. They have just over 50,000 miles on them and are still smooth and quiet." Any advice? I guess I should have mentioned I called around to a bunch of places and Pep Boys was the best deal I found -- but I have been to the dealer service station before and trust them more so that's why they're the other one I'm considering.
How long are BMW tires supposed to last? So I bought a BMW like 2 years ago (328i) and after just 30,000 miles I am told it is almost time to change my tires. They are run flat continental tires. So my question is, are you serious? My last car, a simple chevy I could go 70,000 or more. Some of you are thinking its alignment, its not, they are balding evenly. Let me know what you guys are seeing, thanks
Which tires do you think for my 2006 Mercedes E350 4matic? What tires do you suggest? I am looking for the smoothest ride possible. My car came with Continental tires which I like a lot but am open to suggestion. Right now I am looking at a set of 4 Toyo Proxes 4 245/45 ZR17 99W RF All Season Thanks
Why do my tires stick out of the rim? I got used Continental tires put on my van about a week ago. For some reason, the edges stick out of the rim about an inch. I have never seen a tire stick out of the alloy rim before. It drives and handles fine, but it is a little weird. Also, the tires are inflated to about 50 PSI, when on the tires it says maximum pressure 41 p.s.i. Why? The dealer is local but new, and it was he first time I went there. please help. Thanks!
Tires comparable to Continental Conti-Trac? We have a Nissan Armada and it's time for new tires. The factory tires are Continental Conti-Trac but we wanted to go a little cheaper, if possible. Can anyone recommend tires that are just as good for a little bit cheaper?
Is different load index for my tires ok? Currently on my 2004 Audi A4 i have Eagle RS-A tires with a load index of 94, I wanted to get two Continental ContiProContact tires but their load index is 97. Is it ok if i have two tires with a load index of 94 and two tires with a load index of 97 on the car at the same time? They are both the same speed rating: H, and both are the same size 235/45/17.
Can you use "summer tires" in cold weather or are they just not recommended in snow? I have an 04 BMW 325i. It came with the stock Continental touring tires. They're nothing special. It's about time for new tires anyway so I wanted to upgrade to a "summer tire" for handling purposes. Now I don't plan on driving in snow but can I use this tire when the weather gets down to single digits? Will these tires grip the cold pavement?
Are continental touringcontact as tires directional? Ok, so my mother has a nissan altima and she has the continental touring contact as tires. I want to rotate her tires but am not sure if they are directional. The owners guide says to bring the fronts straight back and the rears straight forward, but I feel this is not as good as criss-crossing the fronts when I move them to the rear. I have an accord and I know my car has directional tires so I had no choice but to rotate them a certain way and I just think the wear patterns are not as good as previous cars I had where I criss-crossed the fronts to back. Anyway, all I need to know is if these tires are directional or non-directional so I can get this done.
Are cycling trainer tires supposed to turn black? I have a Continental trainer tire I put on my road bike (completely orange tire) and I only use the tire while I'm on the trainer (1up Trainer). I've noticed that the surface area where the tire runs on the trainer, that area is becoming black. I checked the ground clearance to make sure I wasn't rubbing into the trainer mat but I have ample clearance. Are trainer tire's supposed to take on a black shade in the contact area? If not, any resolutions?
Does anyone know if there is an on-line price-list for Continental tyres in Australia? Specifically, CC5 - RM 175 tyres (to replace Dunlop SP Sport D62M 175/65R14 which are no longer being produced). I can only find *product-descriptions* on the Continental websites.. :-\ Sorry, It appears this question was somehow posted in Yahoo answers US (instead of Australia)... Thanks to those who answered... I *had* tried dealership websites to no avail. The matter has been resolved.
I have a 1998 Lincoln Continental w/ 200k miles on it (runs great) The tires have about 20k on them and are? rotated and balanced regularly. The inside tread of the rear tires are bald and the dealer told me I needed a 4 wheel alignment. I just had this done at a different shop and when they showed me the before and after of the four wheel alignment, there was no difference in the rear (it was within tolerance)n the front needed some adjustment. The repair shop said there are some cars out there that just drive differently and that is why the rear tires were worn on the inside tread. Remember, I only have about 20,000 miles on these tires. Do Lincoln Continentals have a unusual wear pattern for the rear tires, did I not need a 4 wheel alignment or did the repair shop just make that up?
Can I lower the load rating on my tires without any problems? I have a 2005 Audi S4 Cabriotlet with tires that have a load rating of XL 95. I am searching for replacement tires and found the Continental Contact DWS all season tire in my size but it has a load rating of 91 and no XL designation. What could happen if I replace my tires with these? The size is 235/40R18 if that matters.
Should Continental Tyres change their brand in South Africa? Continental is a German company as you know, in South Africa people call them Conti's as ZXCV pointed out. Should continental change their brand name as some people might find it offensive or do you think Conti's is not a swear word? Cakes ask one of your Afrikaans mates what the singular of conti's is.....
What is the recommended tire pressure in a 1993 Lincoln continental? My rear right door is stuck so I can't get to the placard. I'm really concerned that my tires might be under inflated so I'd appreciate any help I could get. I'm looking for the pressure recommended on the placard (looks like a sticker) on the rear right door. All cars have a placard somewhere that tells you the optimum tire pressure for that particular car.

Do I have to change all 4 tires after one blew out on the road? I blew out my front right tire yesterday on really rought terrain and had to go to work with the full size spare. I currently have continental procontacts on all four. Does anyone with experience on tires know if I must change all four? I will rather just buy one (cost about $108). Or, can I just change the two front ones? Having to change all four might require switching to cheaper Pirelli P4s. Any experience with those?
Looking to buy 22" Rims and Tires for a 2007 Mercedes GL450? I am wondering what sizes are compatible with my vehicle. Also, the factory tire size is P265 60R18 (factory 18 inch wheels with a 110 H Speed Rating). The tires on right now are Continental 4x4's with very very low tread. I am looking to find out which sizes would accommodate my vehicle. Thanks!
LIfe expectancy of tires? This is the type of tires that I have on my car, with just over 30,000 miles and they already need to be replaced, is that normal? P215/60R16 tires Continentals and are the tires that came with the car.
Will 700x25 road bike tires fit on Alex S500 Rims? I purchases a Specialized Allez a few months ago and was looking to replace the stock tires (Specialized Mondo 700 X 23) with some GP Continental 700 X 25 but wasnt sure if they'd fit on the rims (AlexRims S500). Will they fit? Are tires rim specific? Anything else I should know re: bigger tires?
Which tires are better? Can you please write a review of your past experiences with this tires: -continental -yokohoma or which tires are good, reliable, and inexpensive.
How many bike tires am I getting? If I were to order one of the item listed here: http://www.amazon.com/Continental-Sport-Contact-Tire-Black/dp/B000O0FPNI/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&m=A2TE9IQP68MWQU&s=sporting-goods&qid=1240867037&sr=1-11 Would I be getting a single bike tire or a set of two? Thanks for your time.

Which brands produces the best bicycle tires? I mean, from your own experience, and trying to judge quality in general terms (performance, durability, guarantee, price...) which brands would you list in your top five winners selection? Continental, Bontrager, Shwalbe, Maxxis, Michelin, Camel, and of course any other you would list... Thanx! And please include the ones you know have models for 16" X 2.0, since I use them on my city folding bike.
What should I sell a 1996 Lincoln Continental for? The car is in very good condition. Clean interior and in very good condition. Does have high mileage (175,000). Tires are rather new. Motor and trans still working great, never had a problem out of them. I just want an idea of a fair price. I don't want to screw anyone over, myself mainly. Thanks in advance!!
Will these tires fit my bicycle? I currently have a mountain bike with tires labeled 26 x 2.10. They are knobby, off road tires but I really only ride on the street. Most of the street tread tires I find are substantially skinnier. What is the general rule with getting thinner tires? Will these fit? http://www.bicycletires.com/pcocos/continental_contact_tire/pp.htm
Why does tire noise increase with wear? It seems like my tires make more noise the more they wear. Does this have something to do with shallower tread? I don't notice any cupping or unusual wear. These are Continental tires on a BMW with 25K on them.
cost of tires? how much do continental 4x4 tires cost? my honda cr-v front left tire blew out and it's not covered by the tire warranty so i need to by a new one. how expensive is it?
What is my 1993 Lincoln Continental Worth? This car runs, but I think it needs some bearing work to go forward. This car was very well taken car of and the inside is "cherry"...leather, remote control stereo, tinted windows, sunroof and looks good. Has a brand new starter. All electric windows working and good tires. Legal at present. What do you think I could sell it for?

The wheels on it are 16 inch Bridgstone tires which have served well. I now need four new tires for this car, and the dealer told me I can choose from the following. HELP! --Here are my choices from the dealer: --BRIDGESTONE---DUNLOP---GOODYEAR---PIRELLI---UNIROYAL---CONTINENTAL---GENERAL TIRE---MICHELIN---TOYOTIRES---YOKOHAMA. Can anyone give me some advice on which tire to choose? Thank you all so much for your help and advice!
Bicycle tire : Continental Traffic 08 or Kenda Small Block Eight? I have a Giant Yukon, have been riding over 3000KM, planing to replace the default Michelin Country Trail (1.95) recently . Never offroad, 95% on asphalt and 5% concrete road, normally not going out when the road is wet, but sometimes hard to avoid get rainny on the way, price I can get for Traffic is USD15 dollars and USD10 for Kenda ( both no-folding version) , therefore, is any one with experience of both can offer your opinions, which one is better choice ? Especially on downhilling or cornering asphalt and wet road surface, your kindly sharing shall be appreicated !!
I'm looking to replace the tires on my road bike. Any suggestions? I don't race but I ride 60-100 miles/wk. For years I've always stuck by my standard, the Continental Grand Prix, but lately I've not been impressed with their durability. Note that I'm 220 lbs and ride hilly terrain. Heard some good things about the Megamium. Been considering the Krylion. I'll check out Bontrager. I've decided to go with the Krylion Carbon w/kevlar bead. Thanks for the suggestions
How do these road tires compare? I'm looking at two different road tires to put on my hybrid. They are the Michelin Dynamic and the Continental Sport Contact. http://www.biketiresdirect.com/pmidyn/michelin_dynamic_tire/pp.htm http://www.biketiresdirect.com/pcospc/continental_sport_contact_tire/pp.htm I see that the Michelins are cheaper, but how does the quality compare? Is the tread style noticeably different? Any reccomendations? All thoughts are appreciated. Thanks. When you cite experience as a source, do you mean you've used these tires?
How fast can I corner? I have a mid level set of racing tires, Continental Ultra Race and was wondering how fast I can comfortably corner. I did my first crit an got dropped at 5 laps out of 20, I pretty much tried to start in the front but dropped positions after each corner because I did not feel comfortable turning in a pack? Any ideas to ease my mind...?
Using Summer Tires Year Round? The tires from the link below seem to be a pretty good option for my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I live in Chattanooga, TN. I'm just looking for some long-lasting tires, size 235/55-19. These Continentals have good tread life and get good ratings. Can summer tires be used year round though? http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=CrossContact+UHP&partnum=355VR9CCXL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&place=2
What is the best winter tire for Honda Fit in Edmonton? I am driving Honda Fit Sport(P195/55 R15 84H) I am wondering what is the best winter tire for this car in Edmonton. Tires I am considering are.. Continental Nord Frost Michelin X-Ice Semperit Because of price, Continental is the top on my list so far. Has anyone used these tires? Or if you could recommend any other brand, I appreciate it. This is my first car in my life. 65% City Drive 35% Highway
I needed new tires for my car? I needed new tires for my Renault megane car, I found the following in the market: Michelin: 700 EGP (Spanish made) Road Stone: 450 EGP (Korean made) Continental: 640 EGP (German made) as far as i know, German products are usually better than korean, but the price ratio with the Road Stone is high, what should i know when buying a tire to be able to compare them efficiently? NB i don't care about the looks as much as i care about the efficiency, quality, durability etc..
Which brand do u suggest me to buy for tires 175/65R14? I was wondering how good are Pirelli P3000 (P175/65R-14 81T B) they are going for quite a good price according to brand and compared with other available options @ discount tire [$62 each - $370 total price (including labor n tax) for 4 tires] any better deals or ideas!? I'm open to anything that is not blacklisted here (I'm not looking for Yokohamas, Bridgestone/firestone, Michelin, cheapo tire brands that u hear their name for the 1st time or cheapos like continentals or Toyos) Corolla 99 CE and i do alot of high speed/sharp turns and/or wet driving (heavy rainstorms are frequent where i live and i had older bridgestones that would not even have anything called traction from complete stop to move under wet situations) Price range per tire not more than $60 range - total not exceeding 350 range (i know Pirellis are an exception in my plan) thnx in advanc oh also i would be grateful if someone can tell me what's the difference between 175/65R14s and 185s... 185s are labeled as optional online for my car... but 175s are origional replacement size... can someone illuminate me on this plz let me make it clear... I dont do sharp turns and alot of them too often especially under wet weather... i put that over there since i'm occasionally on the run and late for stuff and may have to drive harshly once in a while... but definately dont mean sharp turns under rain or as a frequent habit but something that happens at least less than 10 times a month michelins are good, i aint got nothing against them other than i cannot afford them right now! my fault... apparently i was not clear enough lets see it this way I dont want toyos cuz i've read so many bad reviews on them I dont like bridgstone/firestone brand personally since i had their tires which had very bad traction I dont want Yokohamas since they got bad tear n wear on them in just about 1 year (less than 30000 miles) (got 4 new) Mihcelins are just out of my budget... I cant afford 100 per tire, tho they are good By "cheapo" i mean cheap product...not necessarily just in its price but material and performance... like for example: "[to me] Saturn is a cheap car, tho u can find same class cars cheaper in price than Saturn...." So any brand that is famous with the pros works fine, as far as when i say its name the guy at firestone wont remain clueless! so out of all tire brands i've only left out: TOYO, YOKOHAMA, BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE... i'll go ahead and ignore my budget limits 4 now so i can get an idea of brands n models then search the $$ thnx alot & again! :)
2007 Honda Civic tires? I have standard Goodyears on my tires which are H-rated (I hate them lol). I was talking to a friend last night and he recommended me to switch to Kumhos or Yokohamas, which are W rated tires. Will I see much of a difference in my car's performance by changing the speed rating? Do any other brands also work for my 16-inches, such as Continentals or Pirelli's? The standard specs for my tires that I have/need are 205/55R16
How can I identify a Jeep Cherokee wheel? I have what I believe is a wheel/tire combo from a late model Cherokee. The tire, original I think, is a Continental Touring LX 225/75-R15. The wheel has a Chrysler Corporation logo on the backside with several numbers stamped into the wheel spokes. How can I determine: what it came on originally and/or what years Cherokee it will fit? Thanks for any advice.
What is a good auto repair shop in California? I need to replace the tire irons and ball joints for a 1999 Lincoln Continental, can you name me an honest place or a couple of honest places (to compare prices)? Thanks in advance I live in San Diego near the Marine Corp Recruit Depot, a place close by and affordable would be ideal. Thanks so much. I had a friend inspect my car and this is what he believes to be wrong with it.
