Continental Finance Gold MasterCard, can I do better? Okay, so I was checking my FICO last night and I only managed to grab a 618 from Equifax (poor teenager that needs to work on it) so I only have 2 things on it, a 6grand school loan that obviously has no late payments (because i havn't graduated) and 121$ that I owe Bank of America for frees that I decided not to pay because of their deposit system created the fees because they do not deposit quite immediately. I know I need to pay this back ASAP, but for now I wanted to work on a credit card. I applied for said above because it seemed that almost anyone can get it. and I got accepted, however, after viewing the shady and deceptive ways they treat their customers, I kinda decided that I could go with a better company. all I really want is no yearly fee because that way I can keep it forever. Can I do better, has anyone had any experience with this company? and if I do cancel, how do I go about doing it? my Card hasn't arrived yet and I guess canceling before activating would not hurt my credit? I also applied for a Cap One with 17.6 Variable and no Yearly, they said whether i would be accepted or not would I would be accepted would come in 1-2 weeks (seems like denied)
I was Approved For A Continental Finance MasterCard Last Year, But.....? I was approved last year. I lived at an apartment...but moved and changed my phone number....So The number I put on the card app. was changed. I received the card about a month later....and Realized that I HAD to have my Home number that I put on the app. to Get It activated. So I called them and they told me to re-apply in 90 days. Well I'm still trying to apply for it as of today, and it says "Cannot Approve Because Of: Previous Account Approval!" Now, I can't get a Customer Service To Get on the Line. It's just Automated....Any Suggestions?
Have any of you had a credit card with Continental Finance? I've had nothing but problems ever since signing up for this card. They expected the first payment in 22 days. I told them I don't even get paid until after the first of the month but that didn't matter to them. They were going to give me a $35 late fee. I sent them a post-dated check and they cashed it the first thing causing me to have two NSF's on my checking. I had asked them over and over just to deposit the check after the 1st and could they do this? Oh heck no. Now, they've caused me to have a second check bounce. Do these people care I am on a government disability? They are merciless. I told them I'd turn them into the BBB and they said go ahead, they'd just turn me into collections! I was only given $45 in credit in the first place and the rest is their processing fees. Isn't there a law against this sort of thing?
Unsecured loans for educational purposes, while living in continental Europe? Does anyone know a bank or lending company that gives loans to people living in continental Europe? I prefer dealing with a British company, or lending institution, but I know that this many not be possible while I am still here in Europe, and before I move to the UK. Would an offshore bank be an alternative for such a loan? Also, I am not a UK national. I do not have bad credit. The purpose of the loan is to finance education costs and living expenses. The problem is that most UK banks require UK residency. Surely, there must be options for people living in continental Europe. Any help would be appreciated.

How to cancel a card when there is no live agent??? Please help?!?!? I had my husband apply for a Continental Finance card because it was a card that promised to rebuild his credit. However, now that we finally have the card we have some questions regarding the account but CANNOT get a live agent!! We just got billed $300 and I want to cancel this account but since there is no associate i dont know how?!? How can I remove this account before it damanges his credit?? I did call the 1-866-518-6141 and it DOES NOT give u an actual agent. It just tells you the account information and the last transactions. When I select the number for associate it then gives me another telephone number. I call the 1-866-489-3649 for an associate only to get the same information form the other machine. I even called the lost & stolen card # and they gave me the same numbers I've already called. Does anyone know how I can reach them??? Does anyone have this card??

How will privately held small loan/high interest companies survive in today's economy? For those that are employeed at the privately held high interest/small loan companies (e.g., Advanced America, Security Finance - which operates under approximately 20 business names throughout the country such as Patriot Loans, Happy Finance, PFS, Continental, etc.) how do you feel the economy will impact the business? I worked in HRIS and know the salaries, bonuses, and pay raises were extremely lucrative for for the southeast region.
Why are people so ignorant of the monetary issue nowadays? If you look back at the history of America in the 19th century and before, the monetary issue was always one of the main issues. Speculation in the Continental currency which the Patriots used to finance the Revolution was one of the causes of the Constitution being passed (because the speculators had no chance of getting real money for this phony money if the states remained sovereign). Jefferson was a strong advocate of sound money (either gold or silver) and deflation, but Hamilton (and the elites) supported inflation and a Central Bank. Andrew Jackson's presidency was dominated by the Bank War, in which he shut down the Central Bank to the dismay of the elites. Lincoln printed "greenbacks" during the Civil War, which were much like he Continentals of a century before. The Democrat Party actually went Socialist because the midwestern farmers wanted inflation (through bimetallism), but they would replace the Gold Standard with the Federal Reserve Act, written by bankers.
What are the chances of getting the duty station of your choice in the Army? Hi, I hear that you fill out "Dream Sheet" duing AIT, picking among 3 continental US and 3 overseas bases. What are the likelyhood of getting your pick? Do most people get one out of each 3 (US and Overseas) or at least one out of 6? Is it common for people to get none? I want to go for 36B (Finance Specialist) and want to be stationed either in Korea (Yongsan Garrison) or Germany. Thank you very much.

the major difference between industrial development in Britain and on the continent:? 1. is that the continental nations followed an American system of finance. 2. lay in the far less use of tariffs to protect manufacturers on the continent. 3. can be found in the establishment of merchant banks in the 1830s. 4. lay in the much greater part continental governments played in the process.. 5. can best be seen in the greater number of technical schools built in Britain.

Credit Reporting? I recieve numerous offers from credit card companies all the time. I was wondering if a credit re-builder card (i.e First Premierm & Continental Finance) would read less on your credit report than a fairly decent lenders Capital One or Chase, are they all equal. Also, what is your beacon score as soon as you turn 18? Thanks!!

Should I contact a lawyer? File a law suit? Check this out. I overpayed Continental Finance about -$28.00, and with a negative balance, I closed my account. The company did not send me my balance, in fact, I continued to recieve a bill with the monthly service fee (eating into the negative and becoming, eventually a positive balance).LOL In order to get ahold of the company via telephone....I had to call information....because the phone numbers on the bill are AUTOMATED ONLY. "To top it all off" I contacted the BBB, and then only then did I recieve a "CUSTOMER REFUND", but then, LO! Three months after fighting to get my GOOD STANDING ACCOUNT CLOSED. Guess what? Continental Finance sent me a bill for $45.96, included in this bill......The customer refund I recieved three months prior......and.......can you guess? Well, I received an "account maintenance fee" of $12.00! NO KIDDING....ON AN ACCOUNT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CLOSE FOR HALF A YEAR NOW. I just made my second complaint to the BBB. BUT IN MY OPINION.....THIS IS A FORM OF EXTORTION, NOT ALLOWING ME TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, NOT REFUNDING ME THE MONEY OWED, THEN COMMING BACK MONTHS LATER WITH A BRAND NEW SERVICE FEE DUE IN ABOUT 4 WEEKS! lol I understood the card was a rip off when I got it, I only wanted to improve my credit score.....I gave the start up fees.....over paid the card on top of all this.....and look where it has me today....IM GOING TO PAY THE EXTORTION MONEY...JUST TO SAVE MY OWN CREDIT SCORE...AND POTENTIALLY SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN INTEREST. -WHATs IN YOUR WALLET?
Are debtors allowed to sell there debt off? I'm wondering are debtors allowed to sell the debt you owe off and still have themselves on your credit report as an open account as well as the debt collector they sold the debt to? Like a double whammy? Wondering because my husband is having a problem with continental finance. They are acting as if they can sell the debt so the debt collector reports the same debt as the debt collector. Who owns it and has right to it? Also how do I get them to cooperate if they laugh at me on the phone and still won't do anything about it? yes but how is that legal? I understand my husband owes a debt but he should not owe that debt to more than one agency. These people are just legalized crooks as far as I'm concerned. They are already holding his account hostage already. Why would it be legal to be allowed to sell it and keep yourself on it as well? Doesn't that make it look like two separate accounts to another prospective lender? And we all have debts at some point in our lives, I didn't ask this question to get rude or sarcastic comments. I'm writing it to understand the legal process, so stop giving nasty or rude comments acting like you're all that and a bag of chips with no debt problems ever.
request a credit increase on a new credit card? I got a new credit card in December 2007. It was one of those types that are for people with bad credit. It had a $300 limit on it plus I had to pay a deposit of $59. I have never been late on a payment. I am going out of the country in 10 days. I wanted to see if I could get it raised to at least $800 incase of emergency. ( run out of money or need an emergency flight back) The card is with Continental finance. Does anyone have any experience with them? Or have any thoughts on what they will do? Thanks I have a balance of 130.00 on it. When I call I plan on paying off the balance in exchange for the increase.
Building and getting credit? Me and my wife have a really low credit score (around 500-510) and we are currently paying off our credit, however have no good trade lines to help fix it. We have already paid off around 30% of our debt and the score was only raised by 5 pts. We need something good on our credit. We have already applied for a secured credit card but we also need unsecured lines. Any sugguestion? PS We have already had all of those 2nd chance credit cards! Orchard will only give us a secured (we just got it), 1st Premier bank reject, Aspire, Tribute, Continental Finance.
I'm supposedly being sued by a creditor! Now What? Well we should probably start from the beginning. I opened a credit card in 2006. It was from Continental Finance. I could not get a regular credit card so I signed up for this one. It had a $300 credit limit and they charged me $250 in fees so my initial credit was $50. I cant remember when I stopped paying on it. I ended up losing my job sometime around June or July 2006 and I think I stopped paying it then. I have not heard anything from anyone about this debt (no letters, no phone calls, etc.) until I got served with a summons 2 days ago. The OC sold my account to this collection agency in Longmont, CO called Liberty Acquisitions (this is what they told me when I called them today). Looking at my credit report it was sold in August 2007. It is also saying that I was 30 days late on April 2007 but I really don't think that is correct. Now I am supposed to appear in court on November 2. They are trying to make me pay over $1300 plus court fees and process server fees (I was served from a private process server. Not a sheriff). I am now currently unemployed again and looking for work. Before I got laid off I would have gladly made payment arrangements but since I am unemployed and have 2 kids to support I cant afford anything! So when I looked at the summons I noticed that there is nothing on it. Its blank. Just a court date and time. No case #, division #, or even a room #. So I called the courthouse and there is nothing filed against me there. Is this a scare tactic or will they file something later with the courts before Nov 2? If they haven't filed anything with the courts why are they trying to hit me for court fees? The SOL in Colorado is 3 years (at least that is what I keep reading. I don't know for sure. Maybe someone can clarify for me.) Since I cant remember when the last time I used my card was, how do I get this information to make sure the SOL is up? I want to go to court and I will show up no matter what but I want to make sure I have proof. What do I do? Great advice CatDad! I looked at my annualcreditreport.com and the only one it gives me is Experian. There was a problem with the other two so I cant even look at those. It says I have to request them by mail. On Experian everything says OK until April 07 and it says 30 DAYS. I dont think that was reported correctly. I dont remember even using this card in 2007. I lost my job in July of 2006 and I dont think I paid it after that. Can I call the OC and get statements? Also I was planning on going to court and telling the judge that since I haven't heard anything about this until the summons I would like to get the debt validated. I want to ask the judge to do it to try to buy me some time. If they are trying to scare me they shouldn't have this info. I dont want to give them a heads up so they can get this info and use it in court to win the judgement against me. Is this a good idea or no?
What credit card can I get with bad credit? Any luck??? Hi, I have like extremly trashed credit from back when I was 18. I am 23 and basically didnt care when I turned 18 and now regreting it. I am VERY good with money and responsible. I currently have a target store card, bank of america secured card, and an orchard bank credit card. I want to get one with like chase or someone pretty reputable so I can close the other crappy ones. My credit score is like in the 500s from TU/EF/EXPERIAN. Can someone please give me the name of a card that is decent and I stand a pretty good chance of getting approved for?? PLEASE do not send me First Premier, Continental Finance ETC as all those require money down and are a total joke. Please send cards you have had success getting and like what your general credit score is. Thanks so much!!!!

How exactly are the McCanns leaving no stone unturned?? The latest quote on the bring madeleine home website "Kate is a keen runner and in the last few days has tried to include a run in the daily routine. Yesterday (Sat) at 7am we ran to the monument at the top of the steep cliff overlooking Praia de Luz. We reached it in 19 minutes." I don't know about you, but I don't see how telling us how quickly they can run to some monument is helping find their daughter? And all they seem to be actually doing to "try and find their daughter" is thinking up ways of "how to keep Madeleine’s profile high especially throughout continental Europe". Surely they should be using some of the 300 thousand pounds they have collected to follow a lead and go to Morocco when there was a sighting of her rather than come home to the UK to sort out their finances? And how is having a photo shoot for the Sunday papers (which they are probably getting paid for) with their twins helping too?? They make me so mad!! And I have now just read this quote on a news article linked from their website "Mrs McCann told how she and her husband cannot now bear to be parted from their two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie at night now and sleep with them in their bed." She puts them both in nursery for the majority of every day. Surely she can't really have said that??!!
why is my credit card not working? VERY frustrating! HELP? Hello I recently just got a new card from continental finances. I got it yesterday (saturday) and activated it the same day. Please read the attached open letter to congressmen and commentnt? Letter Re: Immigration Issue June 12, 2007 The American people, regardless of political affiliation, have made it quite clear they are against the immigration legislation being proposed by our Congress, and have said so in VERY CLEAR and LOUD VOICES! Those voices are not in agreement as regards the specifics of the issues, but they all know the lengthy and inconsistent bill has not been carefully assembled and most members of both houses of Congress have not yet studied it well enough to work out the contradictions that would have to be decided by the courts. The desire of the President and our Congress to push through an ill-conceived law will cost America dearly now and far into the future. This pending disaster MUST BE BLOCKED and our representatives must know that we the people must not be ignored. The message has been sent and will be sent again and if it is ignored. The people will know for certain that they have no representation. With no representation, we live in a state of TYRANNY. Though there is not agreement on what should be done, we know that the political process including the selection of candidates is driven by money. We also know that illegal immigration is powered by money. Those benefiting from illegal immigration are those hiring the illegal immigrants and they are the same individuals financing and influencing our legislators to push through legislation that guarantees a supply of cheap labor. Such labor will result in suppression of wages for most Americans and loss of jobs for many. A lesson taught by history will underscore the correct actions we should take, as well as highlight what is conspicuously missing in the current debate. The Eisenhower administration instituted a policy that created an era that saw the lowest incidence of illegal immigration in the history of the U.S. That policy resulted in the prosecution, fining and in a few cases jailing of those who were hiring the illegal aliens. When the word got out that the administration was serious, the jobs dried up and the “illegals” found their own way home at no cost to the taxpayer. That policy continued until it was changed during the Johnson administration. Why is that lesson now being ignored? I think the answer lies in the fifth paragraph. Many of the immigrants now arriving in the U.S. do not truly want to become U.S. citizens. The evidence for that is very strong. We regularly see demonstrations aimed at changing our policy, our society, our laws and our language! If those demonstrators want those changes, why did they come here? The obvious answer is OPPORTUNITY. We cannot accommodate everyone on earth who wants opportunity. The continental United States probably can’t house four billion people! Since the evidence shows that many immigrants really want opportunity, a quick look at what creates opportunity provides us with a solution to the problem. The U.S. differs from most other American nations in one primary aspect. Our unusually wise and ethical Founding Fathers passed up the opportunity to set up their own positions as Royalty and instead fought off the temptation to be an elite group. They chose instead to set up a constitution that permits free enterprise and the ability of the worker to enjoy some of the fruits of his own labor. THAT is opportunity. (Today, a few may hate the Constitution for that very reason.) Though the immediate securing of our borders is important for Homeland Security, it is of secondary importance in the legislation regarding immigration. Those protesting and demonstrating for the purpose of changing our society don’t want to be U.S. citizens and they would be better served by having the opportunity to enjoy prosperity at home. We must institute a policy that supports not just democracy in other nations but one that encourages those who want change to seek opportunities to correct dishonesty and elitism in their own societies, governments, military and police. They need free enterprise and ownership of their businesses. They desire the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor, their society, their language and their families. The benefits to all of us are several. It will help the economies of those societies and thereby level the “playing-field” from the viewpoint of business and economy. It will lessen the need or desire to “export” jobs to areas where wages are lower. It will take off some of the pressure created by a flood of immigrants who don’t really want to be part of our society. It will strengthen trading partners and reduce tyranny. It will enable us to accommodate those who truly WANT to be U.S. citizens. There are many additional facets to the immigration issue, but I feel the above addresses issues not currently being considered in proposed legislation. Please DO NOT CONSIDER PASSING THE CURRRENT IMMIGRATION BILL. Put it on the shelf until better legislation and appropriate policy changes can be addressed.
Living in LA for a month? I live in the Philippines and I've decided to enroll in a month long, finance related course in Los Angeles (Continental Grand Plaza, Continental Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245) I was wondering if anyone can help me out regarding these things: 1) What's the best/cheapest/nearest place (apartment? motel? hotel? a dorm?) I can stay? how much are the costs? it would only be for a month (unless i get offered a job) so it's just temporary 2) Is commuting a good option to get around? or do I really need to rent a car? 3) What would be a good/cheap way for me to spend my weekdays? (classes are only on weekends) i wish i could have a part time job to help pay for expenses, but unfortunately i would only have a school-visa thingy, so i cant :( I guess what I'm trying to ask is the amount of money i need to be able to survive in LA for about a month. thanks!

Conservative wins in France, French Resistance to Jihadism? French Resistance to Jihadism The broad implications of Sarkozy’s election. By Walid Phares When I was leaving Paris at the end of October 2005 after a visit to France, I had two things in mind: First, I had seen the beginning of the urban intifada, which would soon engulf about two hundred cities and towns. Second, I was able to have my book Future Jihad received by Minister of Interior Nicolas Sarkozy. And as my plane was taking off, I concluded that the jihadi “invasion” of France’s cities would lead to a French popular response. This Sunday’s presidential election epitomized this reaction, and Nicolas Sarkozy embodied it. This striking electoral victory by the son of an immigrant is the result of the French public’s rejection of a slow decay that has been eroding the foundations of the Fifth Republic for years, some would say even since its inception in 1958. Without any doubt, the country’s economic insecurity and a need for change were among the reasons for Sarkozy’s electoral success. He promised a third path between the rigid left-wing agenda and Chirac’s stagnant economics. Many civil societies in Europe wish to escape the choice between Socialism and capitalism. European voters and French ones in particular, have desperately been trying to communicate this to their politicians since the end of the Cold War. But Sarkozy’s victory is also a response to another desperate plea from the peoples of Europe, and from the French silent majority in particular: Please resist the rise of terror that is the urban jihad. This Sunday’s vote, and the presidential primaries, were also — even mostly — about this latent worry, even if the political and media elite attempted to ignore it. When given the opportunity, French electors responded to the elite’s tergiversation on the perceived threat to democracy and security. THE RISE OF TERROR Since the 1970s, France has been a target for terrorist activities. Left-wing, right-wing, and Middle Eastern-rooted groups attacked the country and were fought fiercely by the government. As of the early 1990s, French urban centers began to witness the rise of radical Islamist networks. Migrating from the Maghreb (northwest Africa) and other regions, Salafi clerics and militants promoted jihadism around Paris and many other cities. By the end of the decade, many suburban zones were practically ruled by powers parallel to the state. Inaugurated by Charles de Gaulle in the 1960s, the “politique Arabe de la France” (Arab policy of France), meant in practice an accommodation by Paris to the wishes of foreign powers providing cheap natural resources to the country’s industrial complex. Very smartly, the domestic jihadi web positioned itself under the umbrella of the French Oil interest and multinational corporations; radical clerics were financed by Saudi and other Arab regimes, spreading Wahhabism and Salafism across the country. Any interference by French authorities would “hurt” the relations with Petrol-regimes and thus would have a negative effect on the “economic benefits” to the country. Moreover, high-profile politicians, including President Chirac, were accused of becoming personal friends with Middle Eastern financial empires. The silent majority in France was powerless against the rise of the extremists in the banlieues (suburbs) and throughout the provinces. The average French voter grew frustrated with these two political options and was not willing to support Le Pen’s extreme positions. Popular dismay was exacerbated as the “parallel society” of radicals expanded in urban France. Within those enclaves, the Salafis were profiting from the void. Wherever French police and social workers couldn’t go, jihadi cells would mushroom. The combination of areas ruled by Imams and migrant terror-networks was explosive: In the fall of 2005, it did explode, right in the face of French citizenry. THE FAILURE OF APPEASEMENT After the September 11 attacks in the U.S., most Europeans worried that the same could happen to them. The European elite, however, largely dismissed the possibility, arguing that America brought the attacks upon itself by means of its foreign policy. Soon enough, Western Europe felt the ire of al Qaeda and its ilk: the Madrid train attacks on March 11, 2004, the London subway killings on July 7, 2005, and the assassination of Van Gogh on November 2, 2004, in Amsterdam were the most visible of the continental ghazwas (Jihadi raids). In France, President Jacques Chirac, taking the Gaullist doctrine to its extreme, thought he could spare his country from the “holy wars.” By opposing the removal of Saddam and leading the criticism of Washington, the French political establishment, led by the Élysée (the presidential palace) and endorsed by Rue Solferino (the headquarters of the Socialist party), pitted itself against the United States. Between 2003 and late 2004, French diplomacy fought a fierce battle against America’s involvement in Iraq. The more Paris aligned itself with Berlin’s Schroeder and with anti-American governments worldwide, the more Chirac’s politicians felt safe at home and overseas. But the Jihadi powers, Salafists, and Khomeinists had different calculations. Their message to the French was: Either you are with us or you are against us. During the Iraq war and in its aftermath, Salafi combat-cells continued to spread in France. Not supporting the U.S. in Iraq didn’t shield France from this domestic threat. Al Qaeda doesn’t reward infidels for not joining other infidels in the fight. Nor did Iran and Syria protect the French president’s interests and friends in the region, despite his political war with the Bush administration. In 2004, the Syrian regime went after Chirac’s allies and partners in Lebanon, most notably after Chirac’s friend Rafiq Hariri. In September, Paris reacted by introducing, along with the U.S., a resolution to get Syria out of Lebanon. In retaliation, the Assad regime launched an assassination campaign, killing many politicians, including Hariri. France’s “Arab policy” was collapsing. By the fall of 2005, France’s national soil was transformed into a battlefield. UNREST IN FRANCE On October 27, in Clichy-sous-Bois, an eastern suburb of Paris, “youth gangs” began torching cars and destroying property. The vandalism was purportedly instigated by the death of two young men who were being chased by police. But there was clearly more to it: The uprising spread to dozens of cities and similar graffiti appeared simultaneously across the country. By November 8, 2005, a state of emergency was declared. Ten thousand cars had been burned. The French public took this as a warning. The media, government, and academia insisted on the unemployment-youth-socio-economic paradigm. But the silent majority didn’t buy it. People living close to the “insurgents” and interacting with them, including the security agencies, understood what was happening: Large urban zones around France’s cities had slipped away from national sovereignty. The radicals had built a “société parallèle,” concluded the average citizens. If the police couldn’t go into the suburbs, it was because they had become Taliban-like pockets. A national leader had to step in. SARKOZY ARRIVES Moving swiftly and energetically, Nicolas Sarkozy, the minister of interior, took charge in what was the most sensitive aspect of the French collective psychology. After having organized the Islamic Federation of France in an attempt to whisk it away from the radicals the year before, Sarkozy became the target of attacks by the Salafi clerics, many of whom were preaching Jihadism in the mosques. Sarkozy used French laws to deport a number of them who were non-citizens. In 2003, Sarkozy had organized a state backed Council for Islamic Faith to contain the rise of the Islamists. The November 2005 intifada was a response to the Sarkozy counter-Jihadi measures. In response the minister of interior pushed for the deportation of the radical clerics he accused of incitements. Nicolas Sarkozy embodies important sociological characteristics of French political culture. Being the son of immigrants, he can’t be attacked by the ideological users of the “immigrant shield.” He comes from a conservative background to assure the French that the national identity has to be protected, and he promotes progressive change, integrating the views of the French who are concerned with environmental and economic reforms. Yet the collective consciousness of the French public today is primarily concerned with survival. This goes against the dominant paradigm, the official speech, and the intellectual rhetoric. French people took heed of the warning they saw on their televisions, the terrorist attacks in New York, Madrid, and London; they were shocked by what they saw from their own balconies happening on their streets. They were looking for someone to do something about this, and they found their man in Sarkozy. This is not just one more European election; it is a benchmark in French politics and, subsequently, in the Western struggle to win the war on terror. The change will affect France deeply, but also its relations on the Continent, across the Atlantic, and in the Greater Middle East. Nicolas Sarkozy is determined to bring France back to itself after decades of Gaullist erring. His statement about being a friend of the United States doesn’t mean only that he will listen to what Washington has to say about the world, but also that he will make known to our politicians his experiences with a common enemy. As is clear, America’s establishment could well use the advice of this newly arrived friend on the world stage. After he was elected, Sarkozy pledged that France would support the oppressed and persecuted around the world. In other words, France is committed to helping weak societies struggling for liberties against dictatorships. This statement is a prelude to what could become a new era of French solidarity with the global resistance to ideological jihadism. In this respect, Sarkozy’s victory can be viewed as a first step in the return of the French Resistance, this time against jihadism.

Don" t you think that the E.U should expell the UK ? Let' s face it, the UK begged the E.U to be a member, I think that the brits have a very short memory, De Gaulle vetoed its accession not once but twice, nothing or nobody forced the UK to be in the Union and since the brits (especially the english) have been complaining, moaning, and whining about the EU. The UK has only served the american interests in the EU, the UK don' t want the E.U to be a world power, they are only in the EU to obey the orders of their american masters, their "special relationship" with America which is nothing but a dog-master relationship which has always damaged the E.U interests. They don' t want to hear about the Euro , they don' t want to hear about the schengen agreement, they say that they pay a lot but it is the case for Germany France Italy, moreover France is still financing the UK rebate when Tatcher asked her money back from the E.U. Last but not least they have bragging and lecturing to other europeans about their economic model (1997-2007) which was fake based on natural ressources (gaz, oil) real estate market and finance, nothing but big bubble. If the brits think that they are better on their own, fine, let them go, if they think that they still live at the time of the pax britannica, good for them , it will better for the EU. However cut the free trade off with them, set heavy tariffs , forbide their nationals to live on continental Europe, so they can be the 51th state of the US. @ Zara You are showing a bad image of the british people, do you need to insult me ? Did I insult the UK or the brits ? that' s how people behave in your country when they have a disagreement ? The UK was among the very few european countries who was for the Iraq war. The UK is also the only one who is for Turkey to be in the EU , ask yourself why , because the american master dictates and you obey. If only the UK has its own policy I would be glad for them. Riffle let me laugh , more than half of your export partners are europeans , your main import partners are the US and China , we will see who will laugh at. Do you really think that other europeans will beg you to stay in the Eu, please leave (i am sure that your economy will much better without us !) Europe does not revolve around you. Nobody pays much attention to the UK. Germany France Italy have biggers GDP than the UK , the E.U would be more embarrassed if Austria leaves the Union I guess.
is this a good report on westward expansion? John. O'Sullivan once said “And claim is by the right of our manifest destiny to overspread and to possess the whole of the continent which Providence has given us for the development of the great experiment of liberty and federated self-government entrusted to us.”Manifest destiny or westward expansion a political belief that the united States span from the Atlantic to Pacific Ocean. In 1783, the u.s won the American Revolution and with the treaty of Paris we also acquired the Northwest Territories. In 1803 to help finance his war in Europe, napoleon sold the entire Louisiana territory after he lost control of hati for 15 million dollars to the United States almost doubling the size of our country. After the purchase napoleon stated, “This accession of territory affirms forever the power of the United States, and I have given England a maritime rival who sooner or later will humble her pride”. In 1845, the republic of Texas asked the United States to annex the young country in order to clear its debt. One main problem with annexing Texas is that there would be an unbalance number of free and slave states. Never the less, Texas became the 28th state of the United States of America .Mexico was angered by the annexation because of border disputes of Texas. In 1846 after several disputes over the Oregon territory, the u.s and Great Britain sign the Oregon treaty designating the 49th parallel as the border of our countries .In 1846 the United States declared war on Mexico. In 1848, the two long years was over when the u.s captured Mexico City. After the war, Mexico and the u.s sign the treaty of Guadalupe hidalgo. The treaty gave the u.s the Mexican cession which comprises of the current states of California, Nevada, Utah as well as parts of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Arizona of which was about 42% of Mexico’s total land. In 1853 the u.s purchase a strip of land from Mexico to build a Trans –continental railroad for ten million dollars .this purchase completed the westward expansion and the continental United States. Through acquiring, ceding, and purchasing we became the 3rd largest nation in the world.

So We The People are not responsible for the governments ODIOUS debt. right? PT-2: THIS INVOLVES EVERYONE.. SO YOU MIGHT AS WELL FAMILIARIZE YOURSELVES WITH WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON Posted By: watcher51445 <Send E-Mail> Date: Tuesday, 13 January 2009, 10:31 a.m. Ultimately; The Federal Government will require We the People to be responsible for the payment of US DEBT brought about by CRIMINAL ACTIVITY involving FINANCIAL TERRORISM and "Overthrow of the Republics".. We the People had nothing to do with this CRIMINAL ACTIVITY involving FINANCIAL TERRORISM designed to overthrow the Sovereign Civil Governments of the States of the Union of the Republics. This is an "ODIOUS DEBT".. Don't know what an "Odious Debt" is.. read: The Doctrine of Odious Debts (Chapter 17) From Odious Debts: Loose Lending, Corruption And The Third World's Environmental Legacy by Patricia Adams (1991, 256 pages, Earthscan) snip: Some debts, he said, were "dettes odieuses." If a despotic power incurs a debt not for the needs or in the interest of the State, but to strengthen its despotic regime, to repress the population that fights against it, etc., this debt is odious for the population of all the State. This debt is not an obligation for the nation; it is a regime's debt, personal debt of the power that has incurred it, consequently it falls with the fall of this power. The reason these "odious" debts cannot be considered to encumber the territory of the State, is that such debts do not fulfill one of the conditions that determine the legality of the debts of the State, that is: the debts of the State must be incurred and the funds from it employed for the needs and in the interests of the State. "Odious" debts, incurred and used for ends which, to the knowledge of the creditors, are contrary to the interests of the nation, do not compromise the latter - in the case that the nation succeeds in getting rid of the government which incurs them - except to the extent that real advantages were obtained from these debts. The creditors have committed a hostile act with regard to the people; they can't therefore expect that a nation freed from a despotic power assume the "odious" debts, which are personal debts of that power. Even when a despotic power is replaced by another, no less despotic or any more responsive to the will of the people, the "odious" debts of the eliminated power are not any less their personal debts and are not obligations for the new power... One could also include in this category of debts the loans incurred by members of the government or by persons or groups associated with the government to serve interests manifestly personal - interests that are unrelated to the interests of the State. For creditors to expect any protection in their loans to foreign states, their loans must be utilized for the needs and interests of the state, otherwise the loans belonged to the power which contracted them, and were therefore, "dettes de régime." .source: http://www.threegorgesprobe.org/probeint/OdiousDebts/doctrine.htm Stands to reason: THE FEDERAL RESERVE CORPORATIONS and PARTICIPATING CORPORATIONS are responsible for this CRIMINAL ACTIVITY involving ODIOUS DEBT of the United States of America. We, the People stand "HOLD HARMLESS" from this CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.. We had nothing to do with this. A. HOWEVER; WE the People do have the CAPACITY for REMEDY. 1. THE RANSOM of $6.5 Trillion Dollars Gold Collateral "Debt Swap-Debt Conversion was paid. The payment was embezzled. The U.S. and American Continental Debt was paid to the Rothschilds Federal Reserve Banking. 2. There is ONE TRILLION DOLLARS GOLD COLLATERAL available for Restoration of INFRA-STRUCTURES of the Sovereign Civil Governments of the States of the Union. 3. This is the "collateral" is what was believed and alleged to be the 'source' for the MONEY LAUNDERING and FINANCIAL TERRORISM involved in this "Revised Report".. which involves all of you.. 4. No one, not even Russell Herman had the Authority to use "Durham Holding Trust, Tias 12087's Collateral".. The "Holding Trust" was recorded of Record 1997.. Russell was murdered August 29, 1994. a. His signature forged August 10, 1998, b. His signature notarized August 10, 1998.. Still those nations were suckered into this Global Banking, Financing and Economics Crisis which has effected them all.. with devastating effects. B. ONE TRILLION DOLLARS has been set aside for RESTORATION of those items which were illegally sold off and privatized in Executive Order 12803 (b) being: snip: (b) “infrastructure asset” means any asset financed in whole or in part by the Federal Government and needed for the functioning of the economy. Examples of such assets include, but are not limited to: roads, tunnels, bridges, electricity
Is it easy for a small consulting business with some proprietary trading activity to register the FSA ? Hi everybody. i am 30, french and i am going to establish a limited company in early 2009 in London, England. It will be a consulting firm, with an international clientele ( i have already a client portfolio, mainly french and japanese ones). But i also want to manage an asset portfolio (european equities & rarely derivatives) for the firm.... because it's my work. I have been a portfolio manager for a swiss private bank's office in Paris, and then for an important asset manager also based in Paris. I recently resigned for my work because i was fed up to make my former employer earn a lot of money with my investing ideas. An employer with absolutely no gratitude for us... but that's life in this industry. And also because i had a fantastic opportunity to do something else than strictly "finance". I choose London because of french tax policy and because japanese clients feel safer/secured with the London atmosphere for international business. Then, i start a new exciting challenge for me. Consequenty, the company will have two core businesses : 1/ advising clients about opportunities to invest in Continental Europe, esentially in luxury sector and, 2/ managing the company's equities portfolio in a proprietary trading orientation. Can someone explain me if it would be easy or difficult to register to the FSA ? Thank you very much for your answers !!! Thierry T.
