New Airline Travel Guidelines Knowledge Base

What are the newest international travel guidelines in terms of carryon, baggage, security, times, etc? Please, answer seriously Ill be traveling in two months. What is the newest liquids deal, what sites offer seating charts with airlines, (Finnair specifically), and the ultimate question that always cofused me: When and if can you use your Ipod/laptop, they always have that "turn off all electronics" video. Or is that just on take off and landing?
I'm going to Hawaii, any suggestions on how to pack light? What about the 3 oz. travel guidelines for liquids? I'm flying to Hawaii in a coupple days, and I'm getting stressed out over packing. My family doesn't want to go through the hassle of checking luggage, and I don't want to risk loosing my luggage. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what to pack for a 2-week trip to Hawaii. Also, any experiences with the new airline guidlines for liquids would be helpfull. Thanks!
Plane travel regulations for carry on luggage? I'm going to be flying from PA to TX this weekend, but I haven't been on a plane in about 7yrs. I know a lot has changed in that time...I know that I'm allowed only 1 carry on, but due to new regulations I'm not sure what to pack. The airline is Continental and I've never been on one of their flights before (I used to fly jet Blu and SouthWest, but those don't fly out of the airport near where I live.) So, what are the new guidelines/regulations that I should keep in mind when flying these days? Thanks in advance and please no chat speak.
is justbulldogpups.com real or a scam? I am looking to get an affordable english bulldog pup. i have been looking around and came across thiss website justbulldogpups.com and would like to know if they are for real. i have recieved an email with the following Okay , Before we proceed , Please take your time and read this mail . their current weights are 16pounds but will be 48-53pounds at full grown and will be 12-16 inches. So here are a few issues which i will like to make you understand and possibly address them before we proceed, 1st. I do NOT place our bulldog puppies in homes where they will just be breeding and making money without love and care giving to them like what i do or even more. 2nd. We do NOT let our bulldog puppies go to homes where they would live outside! 3rd. We will NOT place our bulldog puppies with anyone who has any history of child or animal abuse!! and the 4th. ALL of our new bulldog puppy owners must take time to educate themselves on how to properly care for their unique new bulldog child. 5th. and last but not the list, We will probably turn down homes that have a large number of other dogs. As our bulldogs crave individual love & attention. As long as you can make us understand that you will share the love in your homes with these puppies, we will consider placing the puppy of your choice to your home, regardless of your location, even if you are not located within a driving distance, most often the homes that are most suited for our puppies are often suited far from a driving distance so we consider shipping as an option. We are currently living and working in Bronx, New York So we will ship i can guess what question you have in mind right now, **Flying a Puppy: Is it safe? This question is often asked. We certainly wouldn't consider it if it wasn't. I personally asked this question to the man of the shipping company on my first attempt to ship a puppy some couple of years back, and this was his answer to me ***When we book a flight for a puppy it is only on safe, approved Airlines that has pet-safe programs hat Follows USDA guidelines. The puppy will have the same air as the pilot flying the plane & someone will be there to care for & look after the puppy on and off the plane. When we go to book a flight for our pets we always call ahead and find the most direct flight available (much as if you were looking for a flight for yourself.) Our puppies have always arrived safe and sound to their new owners, he even went further to say that it is better and more comfortable to fly a puppy on a 2-5 hours flight than drive with that puppy for 6 hours or more***. And that i believe so much because i know they are professionals and will deliver the puppy safely. Shipping a bulldog puppy within the USA INCLUDES *HEALTH CERTIFICATE $55.00 *PUPPY CRATE $45.00 *CLIMATE CONTROLLED PET CLASS FLIGHT $189.00 *FOR A TOTAL OF $289.00 I ALWAYS CHOOSE TO USE AMERICAN AIRLINES PET SAFE PROGRAM LESS THEY DON'T HAVE THE MOST DIRECT FLIGHT THEN I COULD USE ANOTHER AGENCY. Keep in mind that two puppies may be shipped in the same travel kennel with no additional cost for shipping. The shipping process normally takes between 6-13 hours to complete. So the total to have the puppy over to you will be $390 plus Shipping of $289 making a total of $679. Just get back to me as soon as you can so that we can proceed righ
What are the safety guidelines for airline travel? What are the TSA travel Restrictions? What can be allowed in an carry on item?
I use the travel section a lot. I was wondering what are some things that can get your account suspended? I notice a lot of people mention different travel sites and airlines. Isn't this giving these travel sites and airlines free advertising in violation of community guidelines? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
does anyone out there know the guidelines for obese people traveling on planes? What airlines aren't sensitive? Please help for I'm to travel next year and I weigh over 300 lbs. and I don't know what 2 do for sake of being embarrassed.

Please help! Has anyone travelled on a plane with their cat? I am moving to France and am taking my 6 month old cat from the UK. Has anyone travelled with British Airways or Air France with a cat (or dog)? What are the requirements and measurements of a carrier or kennel? I know it can't be too small or too big but nowhere does it tell me the approved measurements. If no one has travelled with these airlines but has travelled by air with a cat do you know what the guidelines for the carrier was?

What are some of the natural stones I could find on the beach of San Juan, Puerto Rico? I am taking a family trip to Puerto Rico in January. From there, I will hop on a cruise ship and travel the Caribbean for seven days. I just wanted to know what kind of rocks I should be looking for when I walk the beaches. Also, what are the guidelines to bringing back unpolished beach rocks on the airline?
Work related overseas travel - is my employer expecting too much? I am due to travel to Biarritz in France in a few days and I am expected to go there and back from Sydney within 7 days. Being a financial Qantas Club member, I requested to fly Qantas for the obvious reasons of comfort in case there are delays between stop-overs etc, and not to mention that the seats are a lot more comfortable than some other airlines I have flown with. Given the global financial crisis situation, I would expect and appreciate that employers do some cost cutting here and there, however my gripe is that I have been asked to travel to France and back within 7 days traveling coach/cattle/call-it-what-you-will class!! As such, I requested to travel Qantas for the reasons outlined previously, however my employer has decided to send me with another airline (AF) because it will save them about $600. Sure it is a nice saving but my traveling comfort is being totally ignored. OK.... I can live with the fact I have to travel on the cheap side, but is there a minimum I can request as far as comfort is concerned? Am I expecting or asking for too much? I would appreciate it if someone could give me some "standards" an employer should abide by, or something to that effect. Can I refuse to travel under such conditions taking into account I may be dismissed? Or can I be dismissed ? Does OH&S come into play by any chance, considering I will be traveling 28-30 hours there, and then attending the first of several meetings 16 or so hours after arrival (total of 4 days of meetings) and then returning 4 days later just to do it all again??? Are there any Aussie websites which provide any guidelines? Thanks for your feedback.
Thai Airways cabin baggage - are they strict on size? I have a cabin suitcase that I've traveled with many times on various airlines all over the world. Looking at the guidelines on Thai Airways' website, my case is roughly 1cm too long due to the handle. This isn't a problem with other airways and I've never previously been measured before boarding. Are Thai Airways strict with their allowances? I'm flying (return) from London - Sydney, via Bangkok. Will I be likely to be checked or will I most likely get away with it?
No cat left behind!!! How strict is it to get to Hawaii? Can I do it by air or boat? Is it necessary? plse hlp I have only 32 days before I move. My cat is 12 (recently adopted due to newlywed marriage of six months and I love him,) and he is and always has been incredibly vibrant and healthy! I am scared to death that all those "preventive" shots will be such a blow to his system t will be devastating. The guidelines are ruthless. I am not at all rich but is hiring a boat from L.A. to Maui is even feasible to get around an impossible and outrageous law (for me at least). Please help and give advice. -- Will they stop me at the airline if I travel with him?
My wife is coming to US from India in L2 Dependant Visa alone.? What is the general questions asked in the Indian and US imigration process? More over she is not that good in English. Flying to Japan from USA; I'm unclear about restrictions bags/luggage; TSA guidelines? I have been looking online for information about this but I'm a little frustrated because I can't fine clear cut information. Specifically, I am flying from the US to Japan (with a stop in Korea). I am flying on Asiana Airlines. - I am planning to check one luggage piece, and to have a backpack and laptop case with me on the plane. Am I allowed to bring two carry-on pieces (backpack and laptop case)? - Do TSA regulations apply to me since I'm flying internationally? For instance do I follow the regulations for carry-on liquids from TSA or are the separate regulations for traveling outside the US? - Is toothpaste considered a "liquid or gel"; can I bring this on a plane? Thanks for the help!
I'm am going to be traveling by plane for the first time. I have a question about storing liquids in my bag? I plan on storing all of my liquids in my checked bag, i won't be carrying them on with me. i have a heat-protectant spray that i wanna bring with me for my hair that exceeds 3 ounces (its 6 ounces). also, i want to bring my face astringent, which is 8 ounces. if i stick each of those in their own ziploc baggy and put them in my checked bag, would it be ok? like does it really matter the amount of liquid i'm bringing with me as long as i put them in plastic baggies and keep them in my checked bag? sorry, i've never been on a plane before so i'm not sure what to expect. i've read the united airlines's guidelines online, and its not really specific about keeping liquids in your checked bag. sorry about the "i'm am" in the title. TYPO. ALSO i'm wondering do i have to put the face astringent and hair spray into seperate bottles? i really don't want to cause it would be a MAJOR HASSLE. i can just keep them in their normal containers right? as long as they're in a plastic baggy in my suitcase..?
Tourist Visa's / Visa Waiver Program - UK to USA? Simple question: I "appear" to meet all the guidelines for eligibility to enter the U.S under the Visa Waiver Program. Correct passport, full citizen of one of the 27 countries, staying less than 90 days, going for vacation, return ticket, etc etc. Now the question is what do I need before departure? Do I need to send off for any forms, interviews... anything at all? Except for I-94W which the airline give you to complete? Or is it just a case of purchasing tickets and traveling??

did anyone hear about that 13 year old? did anyone hear about that 13 year old that stole his parents credit card, stole his dads car, booked 2 flights and drove himself to the airport? he managed to get through check in and past security without any form of ID other than a report card. and he didn't have a legal guardian with him. who do you think should be held accountable? do you think the parents should be held responsible for their childs actions, or do you think that this just proves how easy it is for anyone to do this? a little scary if you ask me! this disturbs me on so may levels. i feel that the parents should be held responsible since the boy is autistic but smart enough to figure all this out. i feel that since they obviously know that he is autistic that someone should be with him at all times. i also feel the airport and or airlines should be held responsible, and they need to have stricter guidelines and requirements for what is acceptable forms of identification, and if minors are traveling by themselves, the parent needs to be right there with them all the way until the security check point. each airline should be checking to make sure the parent is there. what are your thoughts? i didnt ask for a lecture on autism. i know what it is thank you very much! my cousins son is autistic. i ment that even with the disability he still was able to figure it all out. i think YOU are not reading my post correctly. geeze! give me a break!
cost to check bags with continental airlines? Hi, I am going on a trip to the Caribbean this March and was wondering how much it will cost to check my bags. I am bringing 1 bag to check, and 1 carry-on bag. http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/baggage/checkbag.aspx It seems that according to continentals website (the chart under Checked Baggage Allowance Guidelines), it doesnt cost anything to check bags when flying from the US to the Caribbean or vica versa. Am I right, or am i misreading that?
Can I have a bag covered with buttons on a plane? I'm going to Japan in a week and I have this bag covered with hippie buttons, but I don't know if those are allowed on the plane. I'm traveling from the US (Minnesota) and I'm using Northwest Airlines. Would it be okay if I took them off and put them in my checked suitcase? Or can I keep them on? Or what's the deal here? If you could, could you both tell me the answer and send me a link to the Northwest guidelines for what you can take on the plane? Also (I know this is a lot) I'm looking for stuff to do on the plane. I'm 14 years old. Any ideas besides Seventeen and Ipod? Thank you =)
