When is the best day to purchase cheap airline tickets?

Hi, my name is Ashley Korn. I live in Mississippi and I was looking to start traveling and I was curious if anyone knew the trick of the trade and the best time to purchase airline tickets?

1. well before hand,on sale.
2. the best way to get them cheap is to book them and pay long long time before the trip date ! For example if u looking to travel in june book now and u will notice the big difference in da prices
3. As early as possible and whenever it is NOT school holidays or Summer. They are always the most expensive times and are known as the 'peak season' You want the 'offpeak' season.
4. Monday through Thursday. It's all about supply and demand. So the most inconvenient and or lest booked flights and times are always the cheapest. Also, the farther in advance the better and sometimes they go down if the flight doesn't fill up fast enough. Best thing is call around and find out what Airline's hub is ware. For example you can't beat North West flights to Las Vegas because that is there home base. Because it is there home base all there planes at some point or another, full or empty have to come home sometime.
5. Well just think if it was closer to the date and you wanted the ticket you obviously need it badly! So they make them expensive. In othr words, well before you need them!
6. Generally speaking, it is cheaper mid week than weekends and as early as possible as fares rise nearer the time of travel. Airline companies know that if you have to travel on that date you will pay up!
7. Very late Wednesday night evening flights are hard to sell and so they are usually cheap to buy.
