Continental Airline Tickets

Any ticket agent where I can use my gift mile certificate of Continental Airline?

Hi there. I got a gift mile certificate of Continental Airline valued $500 as a birthday gift and planning to go to Asia with using the certificate at the end of this year since it'll be expired on Jan 08. I went to the website of continental airline to find the cheapest ticket, then there's starting from $1200. and when I searched on other website of those cheap ticket vendors, they offered from $700 which is almost half price. Do you know any ticket agent/website where offers cheap ticket yet be able to use mile gift certificate? Thank you so much in advance. Look forward to hear from you. :-)))

1. In my opinion, normally with Travel Certificates, people have to redeem directly with the airlines. Travel agencies are not allow to "touch" it. You can do research on their websites before redeeming the gift cert. -- flexible dates may give you better prices. Good luck :)
2. Read the back of the certificate and see what it says about issuing...if it says that it has to be issued by the airline or a travel agent, then you cannot book it online. Depending on the certificate, you'll probably have to actually go to the airline's ticket counter at the airport to have a ticket issued, and then pay any remaining difference there. *Or, if a travel agent is able to issue the ticket, they can take the value of the coupon off a ticket also...and yes, we can take certificates if the airline allows.
