how many checked in bags can you take onto a continental flight?

and is there a fee for more than one bag. please help leavin on thursday!!!

1. Continental's website, oddly enough, states that you are allowed to check two bags, but the second bag will incur a $25 fee. The maximum allowed weight for each bag depends on the destination and is listed at the page linked below.
