How many miles must I accumulate to buy a flight from Continental Airlines?

I dont understand at all how those miles work... please help!

2. It depends on where you're flying. A trip to Hawaii or Europe will require more miles than a trip to Chicago. There is no generic answer to your question. The information that you want is on Continental's website. Airlines severely restrict the number of seats that are available for free travel at the lowest mileage levels. Just because you have miles, it doesn't mean that you will actually be able to fly where you want to on the dates that you want. You probably won't find an airline that publicizes that.
