Are US Airways and United Frequent flyer miles interchangeable?
My parents told me that if I have frequent flyer miles on United and/or US Airways, I can use those frequent flyer miles on either airline. Is this true?

- United, like other airlines has its partners you can redeem miles from its program to use to fly another carrier. This partnership is called the Star Alliance. It includes both domestic and international airline partnerships. US Airways is a close ally of United and is part of the Star Alliance. You may want to visit United to see what other carriers may also be useful in your travel plans. One note, you may use the miles to fly on the other carrier but I believe you can not transfer to the other carriers frequent flyer program, thus no consolidation unfortunately. Check with United or its website for details and restrictions
- Hello, Yes, you can fly on any of the star alliance airlines if you have the points. The points from United and USAirways cannot be combined. If you have 5000 points on one and 16000 points on another you cannot add them to get a free trip. You must have all your points on one or the other. I do think that you can have your points assigned to one airline or the other. Check that out with the airline to make sure. Donna
