  1. i think babies are free if they are on an adult's lap
  2. Yes you must purchase a ticket. All passengers 2 years of age and older must have a ticket. You must also bring a airline approved car seat as your child cannot sit on your lap for takeoffs and landings.
  3. Yes.
  4. im preetey sure you have to. why dont you try to find out find out. you should call.
  5. 2 is the cut-off for most airlines for free flights for babies on their parent's laps. But that's really not the safest way for a baby to fly. You should purchase a seat for the child (most airlines will discount the ticket for young kids) and bring the car-seat. You would never risk your child's safety by putting him in the car without car-seat; why do it in a plane? It goes up to 600mph and there's turbulence. I've seen a baby bounce out of mom's arms and fall hard on the floor during even a moderately rough flight and would hate to think what would happen in very rough air.
  6. depends on the destination and the airline. If a child is 0-23month old and inclusive, who does not get a seat, the ticket is either free or 10% of regular adult fare (an infant fare) If a child is 2 to 11 years old inclusive, or, an infant is sitting a seat, they pay either 67 or 75% of regular adult fare (a child fare). So if your child is 2 y/o or slightly older, yes, regardless which airline you flying the child needs a ticket. BUT, when it comes to Continental, it is pretty hard to say because you didn't mention a specific destination, because, Continental does NOT offer child fare on some destinations.
  7. Yes
  8. check with the airline. My best friend has 20 month old daughter and she and her daughter are going to Africa soon. She had to pay for a "child ticket" which was like $500, in addition to her own ticket, even though her daughter is riding in her lap. It depends on the airline and where you are flying to/from, so check with them to find out. For some airlines, the child must be under 2 yrs to ride on your lap.
