Air travel regulations mandated by FAA and/or Warsaw treaty?

ARE THERE ANY SPECIFIC REGULATIONS, MANDATED BY FAA OR WARSAW TREATY, OBLIGING AIR CARRIERS TO PROVIDE/PAY FOR ACCOMODATIONS OR LOSSES FOR STRANDED PASSENGERS DUE TO THE AIR CARRIER'S FAULT? BECAUSE AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT TO PUERTO PLATA, WITH A STOPOVER IN SAN JUAN, LEFT ONE HOUR LATE, I MISSED THE CONNECTING FLIGHT AND WAS STRANDED FOR 24 HRS IN SAN JUAN. AMERICAN AIRLINES SAYS THAT THEY R NOT LIABLE AND DO NOT WANT TO PAY ANY COMPENSATIONS. R THEY WRIGHT?

  1. Yes they are right. It's not their fault that you didn't catch the plane. And if u read carefully u will see on every airline website that they are not responsible for your inconvenience on ground;)
