I bought a dog carrier.....is it approved for airline travel?

i bought a juicy couture soft pet carrier ( http://img.skitch.com/20081224-r22y7rsngjpebkuud66xtbq379.jpg ) and i'm not sure if its approved for travel in a plane. i'm taking american airlines for a short trip to LA. they charge $100 there and back, but i dont kow their regulations. HELP!!!!

  1. AA web site has their requirements. Are you taking the dog on board (inside the plane) with you? You best call AA. That carrier would not be ok for a dog in the luggage section. traveling with pets-AA web site below.
  2. It is best to call the airline and ask them what kind of carrier to get for your dog and where to get one at. Not all carriers are sky friendly. You can get alot of the carriers at your vets and also at PETSMART.
  3. That will be fine. Just make sure that your pet can stand freely inside the carrier, is not more than 20 lbs. with carrier included, and that it is not taller than 8 inches in height. Remember, it will have to fit under the seat in front of you!
