Return flight - ok to board at transfer airport?
Will airline regulations allow me to bypass the original part of a flight and board at the transfer airport? I am flying from Italy to Toronto in July and returning in August. The return flight itinerary involves a transfer in Philadelphia. I will actually be closer to Philadelphia toward the end of my travel, and would have to BACKTRACK to get back to Toronto to catch my return flight. Can I just board in Philadelphia?

- No, you'll forfeit your ticket. It only works for getting off early. Call the airline and see if they'll do that change without charging you for it.
- Since this is international and not a domestic flight, probably they won't let you out of the transfer halls. It is better to call them earlier and ask to change your return ticket. http://blog.lessno.com
- You can't do that, anytime you miss a leg of any of your flights, the remainder of your flights will be cancelled. You can try and re-book your return flight without the Toronto to Philadelphia leg of your trip, but most likely will have to pay a penalty and possibly a more expensive ticket, but don't just skip the flight, they will cancel any remaining flights.
