U.S. baggage regulations?

Does anyone have a website address where I can find the general U.S. rules and regulations about limits of travel baggage, excess weight, prohibited items, etc. Note: I'm not looking for the regulations of a specific airline. I want the general regulations.

1. The weight and limits vary depending on the airline. It's usually 50 lbs for domestic and 70 lbs for international. If you are bringing gulf clubs, etc. it is a different charge. Most of the major US carriers have the same regulations. Go to TSA.gov for the list of prohibited items. IN checked bags, you usually cant bring things that can catch on fire/exploit, etc. For your carry on there is a list of stuff and you should see TSA for that.
2. You can find out everything you need to know on the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what is and is not allowed in both your checked and carry on luggage.
