Will I be okay with bringing two backpacks as "carry on" luggage?

I am traveling Southwest Airlines from Ontario, CA to Oakland, CA in September. From what I've read I *think* I should be fine as long as they both fit the size regulations (10x16x24"). I really don't want to have to check in my luggage -Thanks

1. Every airline has a different policy with regard to luggage. Some airlines allow 2 checked bags plus 1 carry-on; other airlines charge as much as $25 for the second checked bag. Contact SouthWest airlines regarding their policy on luggage.
2. They say one carry on and a small personal items, so you might not be able to get away with it. Check with the airline.
3. that will count as 2. the airlines have started charging for carry-ons you will have to pay anywhere from $25-50
4. don't know if your a guy or a girl. But if your a girl you could get away with a back pack and a really big purse. The purse could be counted as your personal item or whatever. But i don't konw if your a guy i would call them and find out. in some cases you would just have to pay extra. Which in this case might benefit you the most.
5. if there small enough and contain no explosives, weapons, or just about anything for that matter! yup!
