Is Continental Airlines a good airline?
I'm flying from California to Tennesee. And Continental ticket price seems reasonable. But is it a good airline? Hows legroom &is there a tv on back of the seats? And hows the food?

- Continental Airlines has been around for a long time. They run a good operation. The aircraft from LA to Houston will most likely be a B-757 or a B-737, neither of which has TV on the back of seats, There will probably be a snack (sandwich and potato chips and soda pop) which tastes OK. Leg room is typical of economy class-fine if your carry-on does not take up too much space. The Houston-Memphis leg is shorter and will be a regional jet with just beverage service, and no TV. - Continental's great! I fly with them all the time. Great service, really helpful flight attendants, clean planes, etc. The legroom is about average, and I think any flights over 3 hours get TV's. I'm not sure if they're on the back of the seats though. The food has always been pretty good by airline standards.
- they're the best airline out there... the only who who still offers FREE food for economy class and the legroom is bigger.. depends on what kind of plane you fly some they have tv on top others have tv in the back of the chair its the only airline i fly
- Haven't flown Continental since 2000. My last trip with them wasn't to my satisfaction, but that's a long story. As far as now, they seem to be one of the best, but still a bit on the expensive side. One good thing about them is if you are connecting in Houston, then you have quite an easy airport to navigate through. You won't get nearly as frustrated there as you would connecting in places like Atlanta or Chicago.
- They're one of the legacy carriers. Legroom is in line with the other legacy carriers. Frankly, as someone who travels 25-30 weeks a year, they're all about the same. I don't fly Continental as they just don't work for me from where I'm based out of, but they're no worse than the other carriers. Food? It's airline food, meaning a slightly more appealing option than death by starvation.
- The airline won best North American airline for a legacy carrier. You can check out http://www.seatguru.com to see if the type of aircraft you are flying on has a TV on the back of the seat. As for food, Continental is the only US airline to still have meal service. However the flight has to be at least 5 or 6 hours long. I would suggest you bring something to eat or eat before you get on board.
