5. Spirit Airlines usually has the cheapest flights to the Caribbean. Best place to leave from is Orlando. I fly Spirit several times a year to the Caribbean and have nothing bad to say about it.. just don't expect a first line carrier type service.
6. I would try continental. I just booked for puerto rico for march, and they do not charge for first checked bag.

8. You should DEFINITELY be able to find a great deal. I am going to give you the only piece of advice that was given to me for finding cheap travel deals, and it works to this day... Compare as many travel websites as you can as often as you can. Since you have a few months, start searching today and search the flights every week until the month before you are going. If anything is unusually cheaper, book it on that date. I would definitely recommend checking out BookMe dot com. You can compare ALL the reputable travel sites from one location, and save tons of money. Good luck!
