What will happen to all the luggage in that US Airways plane that crashed into the Hudson River?

Will US Airways reimburse the passengers for their losses? Will anyone get their damaged luggage back?

Public Comments

  1. It will probably get really soggy. Then it will begin to grow mold.
  2. They will dry it out and return it. Homeowners insurance will cover damage.
  3. The baggage handlers are still going to raid that luggage as soon as it dries out.
  4. Well, right now it is still in the belly of that plane and the plane is tied to the side of the river nice and secure, but in a few days they will be bringing some really big cranes that will lift that plane and put it onto a barge and float it to a large area on land for investigation. At that point the luggage will be unloaded and delivered to their rightful owners, a bit wet but still intact.
  5. wow there's a plane crash and you're worried about luggage? okay, anyway, Yes they will return everything, even if it's wet.
  6. It will be returned to the passengers, but only after the NTSB and possibly FBI have examined it. Not that any terrorism is suspect, but in a case such as this all aspects will be thoroughly investigated, as it should be.
  7. umm charity
  8. When the people who said they are just happy to be alive find a lawyer the lawyers will tell them that they will be a lot happier soon and not to worry about the luggage..hahahaha
  9. well they are going to have to take the plane out of the water then they will probly look at the luggage to see if any could be salveged
  10. Yes to both of your questions. Did you see the hand luggage all over the water yesterday? They will try and salvage as much as possible and get it to their owners. Maybe they have passports etc in there so even though it would be waterlogged they could have some of their things back. And they would be compensated for losses.
