The US Airways plane that landed in the Hudson River yesterday?
On that US Airways flight, I heard all the passengers got out. But did they let the plane sink to the bottom of the river?

- The plane did not sink. Think about it, its filled with air. It floated for the most part.
- yes it sunk but they are pulling it out today!
- Yep- they want you to go get it. Just kidding- I really don't know.
- no they dragged it to the side and lifted it out. Cost a lot of money to let it sink
- i dont know, but i say we set up a 'bird czar' so this never happens again.....
- the plane didnt sink
- it didnt sink completely...this morning they were dragging it out so they could perform an investigation.
- I heard it sunk, but they are probably pulling it out of the river again to find what might have caused the plane to malfunction, although i red that the plane's engines stopped working after some birds had flown into them XD
- I wouldn't have thought so, it's not that deep is it? I read that one passenger thought he had plunged into 100 feet of water then found himself standing in 5 feet of water instead! I would imagine they will airlift the plane out piece by piece, be interesting to see live though, wish I was there! Just glad that noone was killed.
- No but i heard on the news that it was caused by a flock of birds?! WTF?! That's the lamest story I've ever heard. Hit the damn birds instead of putting people's lives in danger. DUH! Maybe I heard it wrong so someone please explain!
- No they will pull it out.. for investigation etc.
- no, they have it near the side of the Hudson River. It's amazing no one was seriuosly injured and no fuel leaked out
- why do you care everything else is in the hudson
- yea it was weird...the news talked about it 4 forever!!!
- No the plane did not sink they towed it to a dock kept it afloat so they could do their investigation and today (Friday) they are going to lift it out.
- They towed it to a dock, and they said they will get it out of the river. Wonder if they'll get everyone's luggage out and return it to them if possible??
- They pulled it over to the side. The pictures were on the news. Lil Bird - hit the dam birds? I don't think the plane or the birds had much of a choice with this collision. The bird (s) got sucked into the engine. Even one Canada Goose, weighing over 20 pounds could bring down a plane. It was a freaky accident and thank God everyone survived. It really doesn't happen as much as you would think it would. By the way - what do people want to do now? Shoot down all birds? Who was where first? From whom did people learn to fly?
- I saw a shot of a tug boat pulling it so if it did then its not there now. Did you hear about the man reporting it and found out his dad was on the flight. Yea this was a freak accident. I wonder if they can make something to put on the plane like you can put on a car that scares deer away as you drive up so they don't jump infront.
- The boat did not sink as quickly as it should have is because it was fully operated with gasoline, which made it less dense to the boat and the Aircraft Carrier.
- It didnt sink completely. The photos showed that it was half in water and half above.
- No, they pulled it out towards the side before it sunk completely. And, ♪ஐMrs. Roseஐ♪, The birds flew into the engine, and blew it completely. They had not control of it.
- They towed the plane to a dock. But I'm listening to the news right now (it's one day later, and I live in NYC, BTW.) I just heard that somehow the engines got detached and they did sink. They are searching for them now.
- this article says it all http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/01/17/national/main4729512.shtml here's more http://www.argusleader.com/article/20090116/UPDATES/90116023 one engine was lost so divers will have to search for it mrs. rose, they ran into a big flock of geese just after take-off, and some got sucked into the engines causing them to explode, which is slightly problematic
