How do I get my $350 from US Airways?
In the wake of the Hudson river incident, the media was glorifying the US- Airways, so I tried to buy a ticket from them, but then I decided not to travel, and I asked for a refund, but they declined to give my $350 back, they said I can only get $250 credit on my account, and that is only valid, if I travel through US-airways with in a year, otherwise it's void! so what can I do?

- Not real smart to buy a ticket of an airline that just crashed into a river. Apparantly you were planning to go somewhere...go ahead and take the trip because you are not getting the money back.
- The only way you may be able to get cash for your credit is by asking (if you ever talk to a real person) for a transferrable credit and selling said credit on a site like Craigslist.
- Not much you can do. That's a standard policy for a nonrefundable ticket. When you bought it, you had to tick the box that said you understood the fare rules and that's how they can refuse your refund. It's the same with other US airlines.
- You must know someone you want to die in a crash?! Sell them the tickets for 400.00 and call it good, its a win win!
- You most likely bought a non-refundable ticket and chose not to travel. Therefore the airline assesses a penalty because of that. Since you bought the ticket, you might as well use it. If you have already canceled your ticket and have a $250 credit, find a place you want to visit and use the credit towards the ticket purchase so the $250 does not go to waste.
