- The answers are in your study guide, but generally, continental masses have less moisture stored in them than maritime. Also, the name tells you where the system originated. I'll let you dig up the last answer from the text.
- A continental air mass originates over land and a maritime air mass originates over water. Continental tends to be a dry air mass while maritime is moist. A continental air mass will remain dry until it can tap into a moisture source with the clockwise circulation around the high. A maritime air mass will not modify too much over land. It is easier to add moisture than to remove it.
