How old do you have to be to fly with US Airways with connections?

If there is a 1 hour 15 minute connection in Phoenix one-way, and a 45 minute connection in Phoenix another will a 13 year old be able to fly with US Airways? But can you with connections? Because Phoenix would not be the final stop. Tucson would be.

1. My niece flew home last yr at the age of 13 by herself. I went thru security with her and stayed til she boarded and her mom was waiting in jacksonville when she got off.
