Continental Airline Tickets

Is Continental Airlines any good?

hey, i am flying on my own and my mum has just booked me some cheap, last minute tickets on Continental Airlines , i am 14 by the way . i am bored, and i have never flown on this airline so i was just wondering if it is any good? i am flying on a 11 hour flight ( phew! ) and i was jsut wondering, usually flights this long will have a tv with your seat, does Continental Airlines provide this, i just wanted to know so if they dont i can upload lots of movies on my ipod. and is there service any good, and the food, ( well airplane food isn't great anyway) but i was just wondering because its the cheapest ticket we could find ( were not cheap, we just didnt need expensive airlines for one person flying at last minute) is it a bad airline? i am sure that it is, anyways in the end i am jsut sitting in a seat for 11 hours, all i am wondering really if they do provide tv's, thanks a bunch, hope you guys have a great summer :) x

  1. They are a pretty good service provider. For the long flights they provide TVs in the back of the head rest in front of you with a choice of movies and tv shows to watch. There food isn't that bad, they normally offer two meat choices (chicken or fish) and a veg option. Then they give a light lunch or a breakfast if its over night. The service is pretty good, we had a reading light such on for the whole fight, couldn't turn it off so they gave me and my girlfriend $300 worth of flight vouchers just to keep the peace.
  2. JD Power ranks them #2 under the full-service airline category. They go on with a comment saying, "Continental Airlines performs particularly well in the in-flight services and cost and fees measures.” I fly with them and they are definitely above your average U.S. based airline.
  3. Skytrax rates the airline as 3 out fo 6 stars. I personally have never flown on Continental but I never heard anything negative about them.
  4. The airline is actually one of the better ones in the US airline industry. USA Today actually said that travelers thought the food served by Continental was good. You should have a pretty good flight experience with them and for an 11 hour flight, I would expect that there would be a personal TV on the back of every seat. Bring an iPod and a magazine so you have more things to do if the personal TV does not have anything that interests you or for some reason is not functioning properly.
  5. They are ok... about average, nothing to write home about They have TV like every 3 rolls of seats up top that everyone gets to watch. You plug you headphones into the seat. They charge like two dollars for the headphones unless you can find some in the seats that someone else left. Service is decent. They will probably serve you two meals for an 11 hour flight. You have to buy your own snacks or at least they did the last time I flew.
  6. Judging by most of the answers given here, Continental has either changed radically or the answerers are used to Easyjet and charters. I was unlucky enough to fly with them about 20 years ago and never flew with them again. The only good thing was on the return, the flight was delayed about 4 hours so a lot of passengers changed to other flights leaving enough empty seats for me to bed down on a three seat row.
