Does Continental Airlines let you sit wherever you want?

I'm going to be on a flight on Continental Airlines next week. I'm going with my family, but we were placed in different seating areas. Would they let us sit wherever we want? I hate people like southwestskywaitress. Don't be rude, ho! I hate ppl like southwestskywaitress. Don't be rude, you dumb piece of sh**. I hope Karma comes and bite you in the freaken ass. Dumb whore!

1. No, you have to sit in your assigned seat. You call call your airline or travel agent if you used one to ask about possibly changing seats to get together or at least 2 and 2, or if that doesn't work, ask at the front gate, then at the desk agent at the gate.
2. Use your brain If they let you sit where you want, why would they give you seat numbers?
3. I dont think so. The only airline that i know of is Southwest.
4. Continental like most airlines assigns you a seat. Southwest Airlines you can pretty much sit where you want. If you want to sit together, see if the passengers are willing to swap seats so that everyone can be together on the flight.
