Continental Airline Tickets

Has anyone flew with continental airlines?

I am flying with Continental Airlines in the summer from belfast to Orlando International connecting at Newark Airport just an enquiry about does baggage need re check in and would i have ennough time to do this to catch my connecting flight?

  1. All passengers have to collect their luggage at their first stop in the US. You will pass through immigration and customs and then give your luggage back to Continental immediately after customs. I would make sure that you have at least 90 minutes between flights.
  2. You will probably have to clear customs in Newark, so yes you will most likely have to claim them and recheck them. The airlines usually allow for enough time for bags to be claimed and rechecked, especially where you have to go through customs. The only hitch is if your flight is delayed out of Belfast, that could affect you making the connection to Orlando... Good Luck
  3. When you get to Newark, you will claim your bags, and go through Customs / Immigration. Then you go out one door and immediately drop off your bags. They will already be "checked in" for the next flight and have the final destination on the luggage tag. Flights with connections that are booked on the same ticket, are considered to have enough time to do the above, and catch the flight.
