Why do my tires stick out of the rim?
I got used Continental tires put on my van about a week ago. For some reason, the edges stick out of the rim about an inch. I have never seen a tire stick out of the alloy rim before. It drives and handles fine, but it is a little weird. Also, the tires are inflated to about 50 PSI, when on the tires it says maximum pressure 41 p.s.i. Why? The dealer is local but new, and it was he first time I went there. please help. Thanks!

- you need to drop that pressure back down to specs 41 psi or less.you may want to go to another shop and have them look at the tires to make sure all is good.
- well it don t matter what the tire say is max pressure what its whats on driver door that is recomended and most 35 unless its a 3/4 ton or ton van 35 pounds some tires fit different but being a tire guy for over 35 years id say they didnt know what they was doing
- Kelly provided a VERY DANGEROUS answer. You should always follow the rating on the current tires. The rating on the vehicle's door is the specification for the tires that were installed on the vehicle when it was new. There have been so many people, over many years, who have tried to get these values removed from the door labels.
