Continental Airline Tickets

Is it possible to get an airline to refund you the difference if the price drops on your ticket?

I purchased an airplane ticket a couple of weeks ago through continental airlines, and I noticed today that the same airplane ticket is going for 25 dollars cheaper. Is it possible to get 25 dollars refunded back?

  1. Had it been any other airline I would have said it's possible, give it a shot but you would be in for at least $25 worth of hassle. NOW that I know it's Continental I would say A SNOWBALL HAS A BETTER CHANCE SURVIVING HELL than you getting your money back. They have actually called me to tell me I needed to GIVE THEM MORE MONEY cause they effed up!!! It still may be possible but do expect it to be at least $100 of aggravation for you.
  2. Strange question! I'm assuming you're using a non-refundable ticket. When you bought that ticket you entered into a contract to pay a certain amount for your flight. If the airline later reduces the price of the flight in order to sell off the last few seats this is nothing to do with the contract you've entered into with them. How would you feel if they later decided they could charge more for the ticket, would you feel an obligation to pay extra? I think not!
  3. HA HA HA HA.....thats a good one... Unless you paid full fare, and since you bought them weeks ago I'm sure you didn't, the answer is no. Only people that pay for a full fare ticket have any leverage to change anything about a ticket, and not very many folks pay full fare.
