Continental Airline Tickets

Continental "One Pass" help!?

I am new to the one pass rewards program. I am completely confused on how it works. The past 3 years or so ive accumulated about 42,000 miles...I wanted to get a round trip ticket from NY to OK. When looking online it says it is about 2,000 miles one way (so 4,000 round trip)....When i called the lady to try to figure out how to get it she said it would cost 35,000 miles...When I asked where the other 31,000 miles came from she didn't really answer my question....So did I earn all of these miles JUST for 1 round trip ticket?! And why doesn't it cost only 4,000 miles since that's how far it is????

  1. The miles you have accumulated are surely the miles you have flown. I would not think that you could redeem every mile you have flown for a new ticket with the same mileage. That would mean that for every flight you took somewhere, you would get a free flight for the same distance--sort of two trips for the price of one. If the airlines did that, they would be out of business in no time.
