travel to philippines with rt ticket set for 3 months?

will they let me on the plane here in the states even though i don't . have a visa for the 3 months yet,i will extend my visa in the phils,i have heard of people saying that you need visa if you have fixed ticket,i know i am allowed the first 21 days free.i am flying with northwest airlines????????????????????????????????
