Continental Airlines-Excess Baggage?
I am flying to India tomorrow. Continental states that i can carry 2 bags 50 pounds each. One of my bags is exactly 50 and the other one is 56 pounds. Do you think they might let it pass because its just 6 pounds. Also, I can carry a laptop but does it have to be in a laptop case or can it be in a backpack. Thanks

- They weigh your luggage and when they say 50 pounds they mean 50 pounds. Find 6 pounds that you can fit in your carry on or mail it to yourself as it will be cheaper. Laptop can be carried in any type of bag you want.
- You will be charged for the overweight bag. They sometimes allow you to fudge a pound or two, but not six. See if there's something you can remove, or transfer to your carry on. Your laptap can be carried in your backpack. Be aware that you're going to have to remove it from the pack and put it through the scanner separately.
