Where can I find out gender statistics on airline pilots and flight attendants?

So im writing a paper on how airline pilots can be women and flight attendants can be men, and the teacher wants me to write down how many pilots and flight attendants there are for each gender.Where can I find that?

For pilots, try the FAA (federal aviation administration) website. http://www.faa.gov/data_research/aviation_data_statistics/civil_airmen_statistics/2007/ The table "ESTIMATED ACTIVE WOMEN AIRMEN CERTIFICATES HELD" shows 5,349 active women airline pilots in 2007 (most recent statistics). The table "ESTIMATED ACTIVE PILOT CERTIFICATES HELD" shows 143,953 total active, men and women. (This number also includes a few airline helicopter pilots, but the women statistic didn't separate that number out.) That comes out to about 96% men for airline pilots. For flight attendants, I don't know. Good luck. John
