Spring break travel plans for 20- yr olds in the Continental US?
I have a free roundtrip flight from US Airways. I'd like to go somewhere for Spring Break in the continental US where it would be fun for both me and my boyfriend. We're both 20. We like live music, good food, the outdoors, science-y/geeky things. Since we're 20, we won't be able to rent a car or go to bars. What's a good place for us to travel to for a week long trip? NYC is a good option. Any other, possibly warmer destinations that are do-able without a car?

- New York City. you don't need a car there, plus lots of food, science geeky things and live music, there are some outdors things too, though it will be kinda cold in mid-March
- I'm not a big fan of public transportation, only because the public routes do not necessarily go where I want to go. There is one city which I recently visited whereby I only used public transit and that was Washington DC. We stayed in Arlington and had walkable access to the metro train. We toured DC on foot and were utterly impressed by what we saw. What was very cool were the Smithsonian Institutions which were free to enter. The aerospace museum was my favorite, followed by the botanical gardens. Tons of science-y/geeky things to see and do. If you have never been there I strongly recommend you go to DC.. No matter how many times you see the Capitol building on TV it does not measure up to how impressive it is to view it up close and in person. The history and architecture of our nation's capital will leave you with an everlasting memory. If you could rent a car and/or were over 21 I would strongly suggest San Diego. Maybe go there in 2011? San Diego is an awesome city.
