How long does it take to get from terminal A to terminal C at Newark Airport (EWR)?

I've got a possible itinerary to transfer from a Contintental Express flight arriving at Terminal A to a Continental flight departing from Terminal C at Newark (EWR). The problem is my transfer time is only 44 minutes. Both flights are domestic, so there are no customs issues, just the question of getting from terminal to terminal. Continental's website says you should use the inter-terminal shuttle bus so you don't have to pass through security. How often does this bus depart? How long does it take to get from A to C? Is 44 minutes enough time?

1. totally depends on amount of ppl... i got thru in a little under a half hour. but that was from C to A. not a difference but i felt like putting that. and the bus ran like every 10 minutes or so when i was there
