I have a "Non-refundable" airline ticket?
I have a non-refundable ticket on Continental. Things change, so have to take another flight on another airline. Can the money I paid for the Continental ticket be applied to another trip in the future, or is it just gone? My travel agent is closed. Thanks!!

- Here is Continental's refund policy. From what I understood, you will only receive a refund of the taxes and airport fees, not the fare. The only way to get a nonrefundable fare refunded is if there was a death or illness that required the change, in which case they want documentation. I recommend calling your travel agent or the airline just to be sure, though. In the future, I also recommend travel insurance. For domestic flights, it is usually less than $20 and can save you a hassle with the airline.
- You can use it for another flight, but will pay a rebooking fee. Non-refundable means you don't get your money back; you can still use it for travel.
