Cheap Continental flights? Birmingham to Newark.?

Hi everyone, I will be moving from the UK to New Jersey in the United States, to be with my fiance and get married at the end of May! Im so excited!!!! I cant wait! Anyway, we now need to buy our flights. We need to fly with Continental from Birmingham to Newark as our dog, Honey, and I are booked on the outgoing flight. I bought mine last night for £387 and h2b wants to buy his flight to come over here a week prior to help me move and then us two and my labrador Honey, will all be flying back together. I searched for h2bs flight last night and they want nearly £700!!!! Almost double what I've paid!!! We can't pay that and I don't know what we're going to do. Does anyone work for Continental (ie know when the prices of flights go up or down) or does anyone know of any discount codes to make this price somewhat more realistic! Help! Please, only sensible helpful answers. I will report any abuse immediately. Thanks for the answers everyone. Just wanted to add a few things - these prices are in GBP not dollars. My flight is actually a return cos one way flights cost double the price - ridiculously. Also I checked n every single one of those websites and they are in excess of £1,000! Crazy! But we've changed out date slightly and found his for £566 which is still crazy, but what can we do?! Oh and yes, we are getting married at the end of June! Yay! Cant wait! :)

Firstly you mention that you are getting married at the end of May, but not your intended travel dates, which would make a difference if you are travelling out much sooner. Also, we could also assume that your booking is for one-way ticket and you Fiance will require a round trip, which will have a bearing on price. If you booked directly with Continental Airlines @ http://www.continental.com then you should get the cheapest fare available through them, but it is possible that booking through http://www.expedia.com could get you a better deal.
You won't get the cheapest fare off of Continental.com. Try discount sites such as CheapoAir.com, Hotwire.com, Kayak.com, Expedia.com, and Priceline.com. Priceline has a "name your own price" option, so you might want to try that. Congratulations on your engagement, and happy early wedding!
its $700 b/c his is a round trip and yours sounds like a one way.....what i would suggest is you purchase his ticket on CO with the cheapest flight then when you get to the airport, pay the fee and see if you can fly standby on your flight or vise versa.....if not able to it looks like to save money you would have to take different flights or carriers...its only a 6-7hr flight from the UK to EWR.

oh its so sad,rates do go crazy high,i may help u,u can see this site and search there and select all sites like orbitz,expedia,travelocity all are searched from one click and also it may have a coupon for u,could save u something,hope u get a cheaper fare somehow even cheaper that 566 :)
