Do the following airlines have bad reputations?

I'm going on a multi-destination trip soon and would like to choose my options carefully. American Airlines Delta Air Lines Air China Intl US Airways Continental Airlines Cathay Pacific British Airways United Thai Airways I am talking about safety. Service is not my top-most priority. ;p

1. Reputation of what? I guess you mean safety. All are safe and reputable carriers with maybe the exception of Air China. I don't think they are unsafe but there are some horror stories out there regarding service level,

3. all i know is that u.s. airways (or maybe united) charges for drinks, and that american is the worst in on time arrivals
4. Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific are probably the BEST airlines on that list. Highly Recommend. The worst I would say is Continental Airlines. The rest are pretty much average. Personally I would go with the ones with the best safety rating, then service rating.
5. From a safety point of view all of the airlines you mention have good reputations. They would not be allowed to fly to the main airports of the world if their safety record and attention to maintenance and so forth was not first class. The EEC and the USA maintain a close watch on this aspect of air travel and will not allow airlines which have poor records landing or overfly rights. As to quality, check out the following site. It gives airlines between one and five stars based on their performance during anonymous inspections. In addition you can see what individual passengers thought about their experiences. Be aware though that some people only write in when they have a whinge. http://www.airlinequality.com/ As a rule I would never fly on an airline with less than three stars. All the airlines have three or more in your list, indeed Cathay Pacific has five stars. There are significant differences in what you get for your money with each of these airlines and you should check out their websites and customer reviews as mentioned above before parting with your money
