Continental Airline Tickets

What can I do if an aiport is closed because of strikes?

I've booked tickets to the States with continental (operated by US airways) leaving from London Heathrow in the middle of a week where the aiport might be closed because of strike action. I know all I can do is wait to see action announced, but does anyone know if the airline has to book me on another flight or will I lose my ticket altogether? I have insurance but I just want to make sure I can get to the States. Any info much appreciated!

  1. Either the airline offers an alternative - or you have to find one yourself. In the latter case, you must consult with your insurance company about the details before making any new arrangements otherwise they might find a ton of excuses not to reimburse you.
