- Continental is actually a pretty good airline, comparatively speaking. While other airlines have scrapped food, pillows, blankets, etc. in recent years, Continental still offers them. They were just awarded this year's JD Power award for customer satisfaction. Expressjet is also a very good regional airline who does a great job while operating under the Continental Express brand. Colgan Air is not quite the same quality, and I believe they fly all turboprops.
- Continental isn't that bad, I fly them a lot. Just pack light, see if you can get everything into a carry on, because with 3 connecting flights, you have a greater probability of losing your luggage. Colgan air and express jet are not as well known, I would stick with continental.
- Continental is a really good airline. I like them better than United, Northwest, and Delta by far.
- I dont kno how they are about domestic flights but i've had a few bad experiences with them when we used them internationally last year to have a family reunion. My mom's, uncle's and grandparents' luggage was lost and the whopper is that they all flew at separate times but in the same month. Then I had booked a direct flight both ways, well they flew us there directly but coming back to the states they turned it into a connecting flight which was delayed in houston for a pretty long time( Making me miss a day at work). They also did this a couple months later when my grandparents flew with them (unacceptable becuz my grandfather is very ill) and my mom hit the roof cuz they told her she would have to pay extra to get a direct flight. I also have a friend that works with the airlines itself and she tells everyone whos willing to listen that they are very unclean. eg they dont wash blankets they just repackage them. And they're not allowed to use cleaning products to clean the bathrooms just water. Their prices are amazing and i guess that's y. But from now on if i have to pay a little extra i'll try to fly with someone else.
- JD Power Says all the airlines stink. I fly continental airlines. My dad flys continental houston to orlando twice a week. He likes continental mainly because he gets bumped up to first class free he flys with them so much. If any airline has bad reviews its definitely american airlines.
- No long paragraphs needed here, But Continental airlines has been rated in the top 5 of all major airlines for customer serivce and satisfaction in the past three years. The've even beaten out Jetblue one time. I think that should speak for itself. I don't work for them, but the few times I've flown on them, I had a good flight.
- Continental is a parent company of the one who kicked the little boy and his mom off of the air plane for saying bye bye plane. The Flight Attendant suggested that the mother drug the baby with benadryl to shut him up and the mother declined so she removed them from the airplane. Here is the story from ABC News http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=3371901 There has been alot of hype about it since then. I cant say that all continental flights are bad but they certainly need to do a bit of customer service training in my opinion.
- I have traveled by plane before, but not with Continental airlines. Although I have heard of things, about Continental Airlines. They mostly fly midget cramped planes, that are way smaller then the Boeing 737's. They sometimes fly Boeing 757s, but they use them for long distant and busy flights. If you don't like to fly on midget planes, don't fly Continental.
- I flew continental from San Juan (SJU) to Newark(EWR) and it was great! Even though it was a 4hr flight they gave us a full breakfast. Plus, the movie wasn't bad either. I really recommend it.
- To find out this go to http://www.bbb.com they will show you how bad an airline or company is. in my opion continental is avarage not like united or jet blue.
- They're one of the best US airlines, in my opinion and according to the rankings I've read (Probably JD Power), and according to my own personal experience as well - I fly almost 100 times a year. United and most of the low-fare airlines (except JetBlue) are bad. Northwest and American are good.
