Continental Airline Tickets

How do I get a few Continental OnePass elite qualifying miles EQM without flying?

I need another 526 elite qualifying miles to qualify for the lowest tear of elite status on Continental, and I need it by the end of the year. Is there any way I can get/buy a small number of miles like that without actually flying anywhere? Is there any program that offers EQM without actually flying an airline? Thanks.

  1. No. You can only earn EQM by actually flying.
  2. The only option short of doing a quick mileage run (ie, a trip for the sole purpose of accruing miles) is Flex Miles associated with the Presidential Plus Mastercard. In this scheme, if you already have a PP MC, you get 1,000 Flex EQM for every $5,000 you spend. You can roll them over year to year and use as needed. If you don't have a PP MC, doesn't do you much good. Check the first link for more ideas on earning the necessary EQMs. I'd suggest a mileage run. Depending on your location, you should be able to find a cheap fare to get the necessary EQM for under $150. This can be done as a same-day turn. Check the second link for ideas for mileage runs. Others' experiences are documented in the third link.
  3. Fly! See: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/apps/booking/specials/default.aspx
