  1. The benefits are that you get frequent flyer miles for everything you purchase on the credit card and quite often you get a large amount of bonus miles for signing up and using the card. It also prevents your miles from expiring if you don't fly for an extended period of time. The down side is that airline credit cards have higher interest rates than most other cards and can cost you a bundle if you don't pay off the balance every month. Just like any credit card, they're fine to have as long as you manage your money well, and a real money drain if you don't.
  2. As long as you fly a lot and pay it off when needed.
  3. Usually I just suggest you get a credit card that gives you money back for your purchases. Airline credit cards usually have a pretty high annual fee associated with it though many will waive the first year's fee. Also even though you earn miles for using the credit card, it is so hard to cash your miles in for a free trip because so many people now have miles. Since you fly often, you don't have to worry about your miles expiring. Therefore I suggest you find another credit card to go with.
