How to get free airline tickets this year?

I'm looking to travel to the new year with my family, but I heard that there are different ways to get free tickets to the airline. I looked online, but have been unsuccessful so far. Can anyone tell me how to get free airline tickets for my family or just free flights in general? Thank you!
