Traveling with dogs, hotel lodging, airline regulations and international traveling?
When traveling with dogs what do dog owners do for lodging? Most hotels don't allow dogs. Specially international traveling. Any info on airline rules will also be appreciated.

- if the hotel where your going to doesn't allow dogs then there are places out there that babysit your dog while your away. Sometimes your local vet offers services like that. As far as airlines i think what they do is put your dog to sleep because they cant be awake and crate them and I'm not sure if they go on a separate plane or if there is a space for them.
- I'm not thinking international travel would be the way to go. Some countries probably require quarantines. Airlines require a health certificate from your vet. There is also the expense for the dogs travel and a crate. Depending upon the weather conditions (hot or cold) and the airline may not allow an animal to fly. There are pet friendly hotels, however, I think that will be the least of your worries.
- Many hotels take dogs, especially the Marriott Residence Inns and the Lowes chains. Delta, Continental and many others fly dogs, and the safest way for small dogs is in cabin in an airline approved carrier. When you book your flight, get a locator number for your dog and make sure all shots are up to date and you have a certificate of all vaccinations with you.
