Are metal briefcases permitted on airlines?

I'm a techno geek, i love technology and i use it almost everyday. The problem is however, i love to travel too, and i like to keep my stuff in a metal briefcase. With my addiction of traveling, i was wondering, is it permitted to travel on airlines with a metal briefcase. I mean i understand there are regulations, but this one I'm not even sure about. So, is it permitted?

1. Yes, it is permitted. There are no restrictions on metal briefcases other that size requirements. An x-ray machine can see through a metal briefcase just fine.
2. I dont see any reason why not! I dont see why anyone would wanna take a metal breifacse though! I didnt even know they have metal briefacses!
